Tezy
____
“But it’s not altogether bad magic,” I murmured breathlessly, continuing to pour magic into the alpha’s body.
“What do you mean, Tezy?” Garridan queried, confused.
“There’s a lace of goodness in it. I can feel it. If it isn’t, there’s no way your alpha is still breathing after he’s hit by that magic. He could have lost his heart and died instantly,” I deduced.
“She’s right. That fae should have aimed for Alpha Kronid’s heart, Delta Garro,” the pack doctor agreed quietly. His handsome face still mirrored that of concern. He looked in his thirties and had a lean body that a werewolf should have. As I had observed, all these shifters were gifted with muscular bodies and attractiveness.
No, I refused to drift my mind towards Garridan. He had a really good build, a sexy body, and a s****l appeal that I had never found in any shifter I have met so far, but I had to remind myself that I was only here in this dimension temporarily. Thus, there was no need to get entangled with him unnecessarily.
I’m a goddess! Right? Right!
I heaved, seeing that Alpha Kronid’s chest was now as good as new. My vision blurred. When I stood up, I swayed.
Garridan was quick to catch me before I hit the ground.
“Where can I rest her up?”
I heard him ask his co-pack members. There was weariness and worry in his voice.
“There’s a guardhouse not far away from here, to your north. No one’s there, as the rest of the pack is still pursuing the enemies. She’ll not be disturbed there, Delta Garro. We’ll remain here and let Alpha Kronid know when he wakes,” the pack doctor told him.
I closed my eyes, feeling dizzy, as Garridan moved. He carried me to the guardhouse. “I don’t feel well, Garridan,” I whispered.
Even speaking was too much for me. It was the first time I felt it. If I was helpless when Kigga left me trapped in this realm, now, it was worse than that. That bad, bad fae! I must find her! She must pay for what she has done to me.
“Just rest. You’ll get your energy back later. We’ll spend the night at the guardhouse, so you won’t have to spend your powers on another portal to take us back to my mother’s place.”
“Will she be safe there without you?” I struggled to speak, concerned about Smaranda’s safety.
“Shh. Don’t worry. I sent a couple of sentinels to watch the area. If anything happens, I’ll be notified immediately.”
“All right.” I sighed, slowly opening my eyes to watch his face.
Garridan seemed tired but able. I could feel it by the way he carried me and how his determined face looked. I guessed he had been spent for the last couple days, since Ultima Danijel raided their territory.
“Everything will be fine, Garridan. I’m here, a deity. I can do anything, remember?”
He snorted. “If I put you down right now, could you even walk?” he replied.
“All right. Point taken. But still, if I need to shift, I can still do it and create damage. I’m sure of that.”
It was only a scoff that I heard from him.
My eyes caught a glimpse of the guardhouse that the pack doctor mentioned. It was as big as Smaranda’s house and was surrounded by thick trees. The latter was a mix of conifer and acacia trees. I could easily spot them, as they were also like some of the trees found in Hebbiza. But there, mostly, the trees were magical, just like my birth tree.
The guardhouse, which was made of logs, was warm, so I found it a bit uncomfortable. Instinctively, I groaned in protest.
“What is it?” he asked, gazing down at me, as he crossed the small space towards a room. He then lay me down on a bed that was not so comfortable at all. The sagging mattress was old. I could still smell the different scents of werewolves that used it, which made my face twist just by thinking about it.
“It’s hot in here. I need somewhere cool to de-stress,” I said.
He carried me in his arms again. This time, he took me to the bathroom.
I gave him a smile when he ran cool water into it. I sighed and relaxed in the cool water, while he watched me.
“Happy now?” he scoffed.
My smile widened. “Yes, thank you.”
It was a long time since he stared at me lying still in the white tub. “I’ll go change the bedsheets, at least. They should have some extra around here. I saw how your face turned sour when you smelled the mattress.” He turned on his heels and left me in the tub. He closed the door to give me more privacy, which I was so grateful for. He could be sweet at times, I realized. Besides, he was not that selfish, in spite of his huge request from me to heal his best friend.
I felt my body relax in the cool water. I turned it off and dozed off. Revitalizing my human body was more important than my snake form at the moment.

I woke in bed, with someone’s arms wrapped around me. It was Garridan. I could smell his familiar scent.
It turned out, I was not in the tub anymore. He must have carried me to bed when I slept in the tub. I should have told him to leave me there overnight. It would have been much better than in the bed wrapped in his warm arms. And yet, it was comfortable, somehow. I could not deny it. My body fit perfectly in his muscled one.
I stopped breathing and swallowed hard when he buried his nose in the crook of my neck. It was like he sniffed me in his sleep. Or was he?
“Garridan?” I mustered the courage to call his name.
“Hmm…” he replied. His arms tightened around me.
I could feel every hard muscle of his body that was pressed against me. And certainly, I felt that rock-hard bulge that rested somewhere at my bottom.
Oh, Mighty Deity! I recalled that thing that I had not seen only once but twice. Until now, I could picture it in my head.
When he moved, it poked my bottom. Wait, did he do it on purpose?
I turned my head, which was quite a wrong move on my part. My lips accidentally touched his cheek. My eyes went round.
Garridan moved his head to stare at me. He was already wide awake, it turned out.
“Did you just kiss me?” he asked.
“W-what? Of course not! You are just so close. I did not mean it,” I reasoned, turning to face him and pushing him away. Well, I tried, but he did not budge.
“You seem to be back to your usual self,” he observed. His arms were still around me, while my hands were on his hard chest.
“You were right. I just needed some rest. I’m good as new now,” I muttered, still looking at his face.
The moon outside must have been uncovered by the clouds. I could clearly see his face from the light that streamed in through the curtainless window.
“Tezy, I’ve been thinking…”
I waited for him to continue, but it seemed that he was still weighing his next words.
“Do you have any plan to finish what you want to say to me?” I slowly spoke.
His breathing became heavy for some reason. His eyes searched mine.
“This may sound weird and inconvenient… or even unnecessary for you.”
I frowned at him. “I think you’re not making any sense. What do you really want to tell me, Garridan? What’s weird, inconvenient, and unnecessary?”
I could feel his heart thumping harder against his rib cage. I wondered what was on his mind right now that it made him feel like that.
