HER RIVAL

HELENA’S POV While waiting for Draco to appear at the meeting room, I discussed with the King of the east country about the hostages who were captured for mistreating the people at his country and he told me about how they almost killed their people, so I had a hint about what was happening between the two kings. “They must have been edgy and oversensitive due to the tension in the pack. It has come to my attention that some wolves are trying to flee the pack by all means because of what is happening and the pack’s soldiers are not making it easy for them. If captured, they are locked up, so they must have felt those people were trying to capture them at the orders of the pack’s soldiers”, I explained with a solemn voice while trying to give a valid reason why something like that might have happened and it worked! The king went on to tell me about how they pleaded when they were questioned and the only line they kept repeating was “Please spare us, do not send us back to the pack” and he was confused about what they meant by that, but now that he had heard from her, he now understood why they were like that. “I had been on official business which had been scheduled for so long before this happened, so I couldn’t fix the meeting sooner, but hearing that you are getting married, I had no choice but to create a space. I would have also brought my son along but I sent him to represent me elsewhere” the king added, and I smiled a bit. “It’s a pity that he couldn’t come but I am glad to hear that he can even go on official business now”, I responded with a thumb up and he told me once again that he owed it to me before Draco barged in. The look on his face could rip me into pieces, but after discussing with the King and he told him that he would release the wolves with him to celebrate my wedding, the anger was now very obvious, but it was making me snort inside. He hated the fact that it was because of me and he seemed incompetent, but truth be told, if it weren’t for my influence, Draco would have had a hard time with the King, who is very strict, especially with the affairs of his country and people in general. He was still trying to fake the happy expression when the King added that he should never lose someone as precious as me and that sent me over the moon. A low grunt was heard from him but he managed to compose himself and told the King that he would heed to his advice. No one needed to ask me if I was happy because my face said it all and Chief Kinn came to speed up things by announcing that it is time to move out to the wedding hall. Everyone looked at them enter with a calm face because they were not sure whether to be happy about the wedding or not. Little did I know that the information about my wedding had gone far and wide. I was surprised to see the Alphas and Betas of various packs that had benefitted from my help and businesses on their seats. They all came with various gifts of different sizes to show their gratitude while also blessing the pack through me. All Draco’s plan to humiliate me and make me a laughing stock bounced back on him, it was thrown back in his face. I was almost moved to tears because of the unplanned love I was shown and it was then I realized that I actually have more influence than I had thought. The wedding went normal but it was wrapped up within the limited time and the meals flowed from every corner. The chefs that were invited by the King of the east country were highly top notch because their services were refined and well organized. “It seems this is the most celebrated wedding ceremony we have ever had in the history of this pack” Chief Kinn remarked as she looked around to see everywhere. The maids that were calm and composed a few minutes ago were happily chatting as they ate their fill and got freebies from the different gifts brought in by the guests that came for the celebration. The wedding was finally wrapped up and everyone went back to their various places while I was escorted to Draco’s chamber where I was told I would be spending the night of our nuptials. The maids at the door were there to remove my robes and the crown from my head before I was escorted to where Draco was sitting at the table. By the time I joined him, he was slightly drunk and the first thing he said to me was to make sure I never got beside him on the bed so I can sleep on the floor if I wanted. I ignored his words and joined him in the drinking but kept it steady in order not to get drunk easily as I watched him down alcohol cup after cup. “You are really trying hard to form a badass Alpha for me and it keeps getting thrown in your face” I suddenly remarked to break the silence and trigger him. It worked! He slammed his hand on the table with the cup tightly clutched to his palm and before I could blink, blood was flowing on the table under his palm but I didn’t flinch. It’s not like I care if he sheds blood, I don’t have the time to sympathize with him. “You sure are shameless! How dare you try to come here and become the queen? What exactly are you trying to pull? Do you think you can do anything in that position? I will make sure you are useless in that seat no matter how you try” he threatened me but I only chewed on the food in front of me. He kept yapping on how he would make the palace a living hell for me and tried to get me intimidated but I didn’t react no matter how he tried. When he finally finished his sermon, I stood up and marched to the bed to lie down for the night. It was not like I was expecting anything to happen between us, I only wanted to rest my head for the night but he wouldn’t stop talking and it was getting me irritated. I closed my eyes on the bed thinking about all that had happened so far while staying still only to feel a hand around me and before I could comprehend what was happening, I was thrown against the table. My ribs hit the table so hard that I was sure it would have cracked, a painful groan came out of my mouth as I struggled to rise to my feet. “Did you think I was joking when I told you to sleep on the floor? How dare you ruin my bed with your smelly body?” he growled at me and charged again to attack me but I was quick to scratch his cheeks deep with my claws. It was a narrow escape and miracle that my claws didn’t scratch his eyes because the line drew so close to his eyes. A painful growl emerged from his throat as he clutched his hands to his bleeding face while I stood there fuming in anger. “How dare you lay your filthy hand on my body?” I screamed and the maids rushed in to check what was happening. Chief Kinn who led the entourage in was shocked at what she witnessed in the room and ran to attend to the bleeding Alpha first. “Call in the royal doctor now!” Chief Kinn shouted on top of her lungs and the maids scattered out of the room to get her command done. Secretary Han finally showed up with my baby in her hand and rushed to my side to escort me out of the room, back to my quarters. She quickly brought out the care box to tend to my swollen ribs before telling me to lie on the other side to ease the pain. “Is he crazy? How did he even think of touching you not to talk of wounding you? I ought to slit his throat” Secretary Han growled as she paced up and down in anger but I kept motioning to her that I was okay so she should just let it be. Chief Kinn did a really good job at making sure what happened at the pack wasn’t heard anywhere outside the pack and cancelled every appointment of Draco so he could heal from the wound I inflicted on him but I didn’t feel bad a bit because he also threw me at the table and my ribs are stilling throbbing in pain so it’s fair that we are both in pain. Secretary Han had just finished tending to my wounds and stepped out to make breakfast when someone barged into my room. Since I was turning my back to the door, I didn’t realize she was not the one and just went on ranting about how she didn’t apply the ointment to the full surface but I got no response from her and the sudden silence made me look back to check why she was not talking only to be faced with a strange lady on a green knee length gown and her faded pink hair was packed to the left shoulders. “And who might you be?” I asked scanning her from head to toe and an unexpected slap descended on left cheek to my surprise. “How dare you touch the Alpha?” the unknown entity yelled at me subtly with her chest rising and falling in anger while I stared at her in disbelief. Who the hell is she and what gives her the right to touch my face?
