HELENA’S POV
Thanks to the intense gossip of the maids, I was able to hear that Draco instructed Chief Kinn not to make any preparations for meals, drinks or party fun for her wedding and coronation. Even with the absurdity of the command, I was not fazed because I knew all he was planning to do and it was something I had prepared for beforehand.
“Draco! You are playing exactly as I had imagined it and this is getting interesting. I wonder what your reaction will be on the said day” I mumbled to myself as I walked past the maids after extracting all the information I needed.
Later that evening, Chief Kinn came around to take my measurements of my dress and also informed me of the day it would be taking place. A snort escaped my mouth as I remembered the faces of the elders who were obviously pained when I demanded that the coronation be held before the separation ritual took place.
“I can’t get the shocked faces of the old hags off my mind, they were so stunned back then when they realized that their plans to oust me wouldn’t be possible since their children are still at my mercy” I cackled so hard while Secretary Han stood there with her straight face.
I had to tell her to loosen up a bit and enjoy the dramas as they unfold, but since her job was always being serious, I understood why she didn’t laugh or find it funny. My baby and I played all day as Secretary Han went on and about to get everything needed for my wedding in place.
The following evening, Chief Kinn came to inform me that Draco would not be attending the wedding because he suddenly got an invitation from the king of the east country and he wouldn’t be able to reject the meeting since it took them a long time to get an audience.
Even though I was prepared for all sorts of crazes, this was out of it. How can the groom be missing on the day of the wedding? I sprang up in anger to question her immediately.
“What do you mean that he will not be available on the wedding day? I know he hates me, but is this not too much? And can he let the king or whatever know that the fixed date is the day of his wedding?” I yelled in annoyance at Chief Kinn, whose only offense was coming to deliver the news that was sent by the bastard called the Alpha.
“I am sorry, I don’t have a say in the issue and I want you to understand that he’s an Alpha who is still looking for ways to solidify himself on the throne. He suddenly had to take the throne unprepared and it has been a heavy weight on him ever since then” she replied with her hands clasped in front of her, and I didn’t know when a soft scoff fell from my mouth.
I walked closer to her front, and she swayed her face to the side to avoid eye contact with me. “You must be trying to remind me that I am the reason why he’s going through all this, isn’t it?” I questioned and she shook her head slowly.
She firmly replied with her eyes fixed on the wall behind me “I wouldn’t do that”. I stood there in front of her while resisting the urge to either slap or strangle her before I suddenly laughed for a bit.
“It’s okay if he doesn’t want to attend, it’s not like I can force him, but I will give you one piece of advice, it is better you get his clothes ready because Draco will surely sit on that throne and attend my wedding. I mean, our wedding”, I declared, and turned to move to my bed.
Chief Kinn bowed and left my quarters, leaving me to calm myself down from the rising anger in me. I know he doesn’t like me, but he was seriously going too far with his agenda. Ever since I came with him to the palace, which was going to a week, I haven’t set my eyes on him after the protest day and the commands he kept sending my way were not helping matters.
He had instructed that all of the food supplies I was given should be cut into half and I shouldn’t be allowed a portion of food greater than that of a maid. Ever since he kept giving out the ridiculous commands, I have never said anything to tackle him, but he will surely see what I can do with this wedding and coronation ceremony.
I called Secretary Han in and instructed her to contact the King of the east country and invite him to my wedding ceremony and, without any delay, she did as I told her. Draco seemed to have forgotten something. I was a famous businesswoman who had dealt with people far and wide before leaving all that behind and following him to the pack.
The mistake he was making was that I used him to enter the pack I was banished from for easy access, but he didn’t know that I was never interested in either the Luna position or the pack in general. The only thing I am after is the truth about whatever happened between our parents that day.
The king of the east country owed the life of his only son to me because I was the one that found him the cure to his illness when he was almost at the brink of death and he had made a promise to readily help me out any time I needed his help.
“I think the time to repay has come now” I said to myself as I waited for his reply, which came back as positive.
I had Secretary Han demand that he be the one in charge of my ceremonial meal as a gift and he readily agreed. Both Draco's plans not to attend and provide meals were solved without a hitch by me.
I would have contacted my men outside to bring in the meals but I knew that he wouldn’t allow them into the pack since he was bent on disgracing me. However, the story will be different when it comes to the king of the east country.
The wedding day rolled in and I was dressed in the Luna regalia of purple color with white flowers embroidery all over the robe. My hair was packed up and rolled into two pieces before the crown was placed on my head and the hair was neatly packed into the designed spaces on the crown to hold it firm.
As I was getting dressed by Secretary Han, I couldn’t hide my curiosity about how Draco would feel when he heard that the king he was going to meet was coming to his wedding. I was done with the dressing and was waiting for the next step when Secretary Han came to inform me that the King was around.
I moved out quickly to meet with him and he happily exchanged greetings with me while thanking me once again for saving the life of his son, in which I replied that it was nothing compared to the favor he did me today.
As we were talking, tons of food flooded the erected tents as his men got to work. Varieties of meals filled everywhere, from appetizers to desserts and one thing was sure, everyone would eat their fill, and still have so much left behind. Even the drinks and wines that were brought in were of extremely high quality.
“You really did take my request a little bit too seriously”, I gasped at the gifts he brought along and he told me never to feel burdened because they were the bare minimum he could prepare.
Even my quarters were not left behind, a series of clothes, accessories and shoes were brought in as gifts from all the kings and alphas of the packs I had once saved with the cure. Seeing how everyone gratefully turned up or sent in gifts, I was almost moved to tears at their loyalty.
We were still talking in the reception room when Draco marched in, he had changed into his wedding robe and I almost burst into laughter because of the embarrassment that washed over him when he saw me sitting there with his dear guest.
“What do you think you are doing here?” he subtly growled at me as he settled down on his seat and was about telling me to scrap from the room when the king told him that he was here because of me, to his surprise.
“You are here because of her? How come?” he questioned, glancing from the king to me and vice versa.
“How come? I came because she invited me as her guest” the king replied, raising his brow to ask if there was any problem with that.
He was forced to respond “Problem? What could that be? You are welcome, of course” while trying his best not to stutter like a fool, but I was enjoying everything instead.
