My wolf sat at the base of the tree facing a real dilemma. How did I tell Aspen? Did I just shift and hope for the best? Axel was not helping. He wanted to prance around and show-off for his mate. Should I shift then come back and try to explain? I looked up at Aspen before I decided. Her head was tilted and she looked at Axel with a mix of curiosity and concern. I opted to shift where she couldn’t see, throw on some shorts, and explain. We were still a fifteen- or twenty-minute drive from the pack and I wanted Aspen safe on pack lands.
