I walked between Tiffani and Warlord Deek, their presence on either side of me the only thing keeping me from losing my nerve as we passed cell after cell of screaming, raging, roaring giants. Beasts.
I’d transported to Atlan, and this couple, one human and one Atlan, had met me and escorted me to the prison. Warden Egara had sent Tiffani to her mate, and they had stayed in touch. Now here I was, walking past raging maniac after roaring monster. Intimidated didn’t begin to cover what I was feeling.
