Chapter 6Graham agreed to Rowan’s plan, but Alec suspected it had more to do with not wanting Uncle Martin to go on his own than it did worrying about Rowan’s control. Of course, if he’d heard Rowan’s resounding “Hell, no” to Alec’s question about if he was really going to shift for the whole two days, he might’ve thought twice about leaving them alone. The house felt spooky once they were gone, especially when Rowan announced he was patrolling the estate before calling it a night. That left Alec with the books Uncle Martin had insisted he read in his absence. But, no matter how hard he tried, Alec couldn’t concentrate on them. He was back in the holding pattern he’d been in before leaving Miami, when he’d been counting down the days and then hours until he met his father. The magic was a
