The car stopped outside the biggest damn house ever seen. Were all three of them living here? Damn.
“Let’s go in, Scarlet’s expecting us.”
“Does she know anything?”
“Not everything, Jacob. You’re safe for now, but she will want to know what happened to you. You look like death.”
“I’ve felt like it for so long it became the norm.”
“Well, not anymore. You’re safe now. Once you feel better, we’ll take you to the gym, so you can get regular exercise and the trainer will give you a balanced diet to get you back on track to be your normal self again. How does that sound?”
“That sounds great.”
“We’d like you to work for us once you’re up to it. We know your background, so what do you say?”
