CHAPTER 6 - MY BROTHERS SISTER - ZANDA’S POV

"WHY?!" I demanded. Why was she doing this? My heart was racing in fear and pain. "You’re mine!"
The girl broke down in tears, and my heart clenched. She really didn’t want me. I’d wished for her for over 70 years, and she didn’t want me at all. Was she in love with someone else?
'NO,' Malik growled. 'Mark her, she’s ours!'
"I’m sorry." She cried, she looked down in pain, her body shaking. Before I could ask her anything else, I smelt my brother’s scent. Sh*t, he has the worst timing.
"There you are," Bas shouted, sounding tipsy. "You’ll never believe it. Max found her mate, and she’s a looker too. Who’s this?"
Sebastian walked over to us, and then suddenly he froze and stepped back in shock.
Sh*t, he must have thought I’d made her cry on purpose. Before I could explain that I hadn’t done anything, Sebastian spoke again, his voice shaking.
"Adeline?!"
Adeline, so that’s her name. How beautiful, wait, how did he know her name?
The girl looked up at him in shock. She stepped away from him as if he were a threat. She looked like she was going to run, but no!
"No, Addy, please wait," Sebastian demanded.
How did he know my mate? I swear, brother or not, if he’d ever f*cked her, I’d kill him.
'MARK HER NOW!' Malik raged inside me, 'BEFORE HE TRIES TO TAKE HER FROM US!'
"Stay the hell away from me, Sebastian!’ Adeline demanded. Her voice trembled in pain.
"Addy, please," Sebastian pleaded. I’d never seen him look so upset. ‘I’m your brother. You can’t ignore me forever."
Brother? My Lycan instantly relaxed, and then it dawned on me, my mate and I shared a brother.
"WATCH ME!" Adeline screamed. She went to leave, but I grabbed her arm.
"NO!" I shouted. Malik was frantic inside of me. "You aren’t going anywhere!"
Sebastian looked at me strangely before it dawned on him.
"Oh goddess no!" He said, looking at me as if he couldn’t believe his eyes. "You can’t be mates!"
"I didn’t choose this!" I reminded him, glaring at him.
"She’s my sister!"
‘No, I’m not!’ Adeline shouted, but Sebastian ignored her.
"And you’re my brother!" Sebastian finished, "This is like some next-level incest sh*t!"
"She’s not my sister, you dumb ass." I reminded him.
"Let me go!" Adeline shouted at me, more tears falling from her eyes.
I turned to her, ignoring Sebastian, who was shaking in rage. So, is this why she didn’t want me? She knew I was her brother’s brother. This is f*cking crazy. Thanks a lot, goddess. She really had some sick sense of humor to pair me with my brother's sister.
"No, Adeline please." I loved the sound of her name coming off of my lips. "Just wait, I know this is weird, f*ck is it weird, but you’re mine, I’m not letting you leave me."
"I have to," She screamed and tried to pull free of my grip. "You don’t understand, I can’t be with a Lycan, it would destroy my family, I have to marry..." Before she could finish what she was saying, another werewolf came towards us.
"Adeline!" He called out, I could sense he was an alpha, I saw Sebastian tense up and step closer to me.
"Who was this wolf?" I wondered.
'Who f*cking cares.' Malik snapped furiously. I could feel him pushing forward to take control, but I kept him back. ‘She said she was marrying someone, we need to mark her and then find him and kill him, he can’t have our mate!"
"Get your hands off of my sister!" The alpha screamed. He ripped Adeline away from me.
I growled furiously, but then I registered what he’d said. He was her brother, he was Sebastian’s older brother, no wonder Bas looked scared.
"Addy," The alpha said as he pulled her face up, completely ignoring my growls. "What did you f*cking Lycan’s do to her, if you..."
Suddenly his eyes fell on Sebastian, and he froze, his whole body shook.
"Adeline, go inside now!" The Alpha demanded, but she shook her head. I looked at her in confusion. Did she just ignore an alpha command?
'Our mate is strong.' Malik said proudly as he puffed out his chest in joy, his temper completely forgotten as we looked at Adeline. 'Now mark her!"
"Adeline, I won’t tell you again!"
"Don’t you dare order my mate around!" I growled. Adeline’s eyes widened in fear at my words, and her heart raced faster as she looked up at her brother. "Unless you want to have your throat ripped out!"
"Mate?!" The alpha turned back to my mate and grabbed her arm. "Is this true, Adeline!"
"Damien, calm down." Sabastian said, stepping forward.
"Don’t you speak to me, you filthy Lycan scum!"
"Damien, let me go." Adeline requested. My Lycan was growling again.
'GET HIM OFF HER!' Malik ordered me. He started pushing for control of my body once more.
"No!" Damien shouted, "You’re coming with me."
"You’re hurting me."
I saw red, in an instant I grabbed Damien by the throat as Malik took over.
"You hurt her!" He screamed in Damien’s face, his canines extending. "You dare to hurt my mate!"
"STOP!" Adeline’s scared voice called out and touched my arm. I felt calm instantly, but Malik was still enraged. "Please, stop!"
I looked down into her stunning eyes and felt a little calmer.
'We’re scaring her.' I snapped at Malik, 'Give me control back now!'
'No, he hurt her.' Malik shouted, 'He dies!'
'She’ll leave us if we kill her brother, you i***t!'
Malik growled, but he knew I was right. He gave one last warning growl at Damien before releasing him and giving me back control of our body.
Damien coughed and knelt down while my mate rubbed his back, but I pulled her towards me.
"Are you in pain?" I asked. I lifted her arm up and started pulling up the sleeve of her dress. "Show me"
"I’m fine." She blushed and pulled her arm away, looking down at her brother who, after a few minutes, looked up at me angrily.
"What’s your name?!" He demanded, looking me directly in the eyes. If he’d been anyone else, I’d have killed him instantly.
"Zanda Tolbert." I snapped before looking at Adeline. "Future Alpha of Phoenix Pack, but you can call me Zan."
She looked at me sadly, it broke my heart, this wasn’t how I’d envisioned meeting my mate.
"Good, you have his name." Damien turned to Adeline, "Reject him now!"
My eyes turned black again. Malik roared inside of me. 'WHAT?!'
