April's Point of View
Just when I thought I'd seen everything there was to see with the supernatural, something always happened to pull me up short. I'm not sure how much of our conversation Alex had heard, hopefully not too much, but it was blatantly obvious she didn't buy Gracie's Anemia story.
After I'd left the previous evening I'd mind linked Gracie and asked her update me if anything changed over night. I felt really awful for not being able to stay at her bedside but my mind link with Bethany had really upset me. I could feel the panic in Bethany's tone of thoughts, I think she genuinely thought that she had killed the girl, sent to stop a war.
