Alpha Morales watched Hailey as she combed her hair, pulling down the strands hard. It was all a knot, especially since she rarely ever wanted to comb it. It was all part of being a priestess. Not being self absorbed. Not being to an extent, self aware. He thinned his eyes at her. It just made him believe that she chose to be completely oblivious to how beautiful she was, and how her eyes alone had driven him to that mistake. He shook his head, then slowly opened the door wide, letting himself in. "What are you doing?" he asked, his voice low. She turned to him, her light green eyes piercing him. "I can at least comb my hair now that I can't even be priestess, am I right?" He rolled his eyes. "It has been so long, but you can't seem to forgive me. That's not the attribute of a priestess." She said nothing, then pulled at her hair again. The comb caught a knot, and she gave a small yelp. "Let me do it for you." "Don't touch me!" She said, half seething. Alpha Morales said nothing more, and collected the comb from her. "Resisting me will do nothing. I marked you." "Yes. And I lost my chance to be priestess. And of all people I could lose that to, someone who has absolutely no regards for mate bonds and goes through every girl there is to go through." Alpha Morales nodded sharply, but caught her hair in his hands anyway, and slowly started to comb. Hailey sat back, her fists clenched. She looked up to his reflection. He still had that look. Like he was blocking out everyone. Like he was refusing to be bare to anyone. She often saw it, and she knew how she could read him just by touching him. Slowly, her hand moved to his arm, and she held her breath, then slowly held his arm. He stopped combing as she closed her eyes, the images immediately coming. Voices. The voices in his mind. The voices he may have never told anyone. Her breath hitched and she removed her hand, then turned to the mirror. He met her eyes in the mirror, and a small, dark smirk went to his face. "I wonder what you saw." She swallowed. "She died, didn't she?" He said nothing, and continued to comb. "Am I right?" "Did you see nothing else?" Her breath hitched. "I saw..." She slowly turned, her eyes meeting his. "I saw me."
