After Matt left, Vic couldn’t get back to sleep. Strange energy zinged through his muscles, jarring his mind awake. He felt more alive than he had the past few days, on edge for some reason, alert. As if his consciousness had been cloudy for a while and all of a sudden, the sun had appeared, chasing the grey away.
