Two days later, news of Mae's daring escape and the deadly encounter with officers had spread like wildfire. The air was tense as multiple security checks intensified throughout the facility. Rumors whispered of a mysterious helper aiding Mae, executing guards with eerie precision. Amid the chaos, I overheard Rex conversing with Omega Jason, their hushed tones revealing suspicions about an inside accomplice.
Outside the autopsy room, Rex and Jason fell silent upon noticing me. Something unspoken passed between us as I briskly moved through the Infirmary corridor.
