If only love

Mya's pov My name is Mya Matthews and I'm 17. I live in a small community with my parents( Maria and Gean Matthews), my older sister May and little brother Stephen. I am in my last year of high school. My school is not that far from home actually. I love going to school, not because I'm somewhat a nerd but because it gives me enough time to spend with my best friends Miguel and Xander Carlos. They are cousins actually. Let me say I spend most of my time with Miguel than Xander, we used to be the best of friends growing up but you see hormones kicked in and I discovered I had a huge crush on Xander. I'm extremely shy and once I knew I had feelings for him, I literally embarrass myself all the time when I'm around him. I'm a mess and can't really get a full word out. Miguel on the other hand has seen the real me and knows about my crush. Xander has no idea about my feelings but I get the feeling that's just me thinking he doesn't know. Our families have lived in the same community for as long as I can remember and are extremely close. Too close it's embarrassing. Let me give you a quick background story of the families. Xander's father( Xander Sr) and Miguel's father(Chris) are brothers and happen to be my father's childhood friends. They met our mothers and decided to settle close to each other. And now even we the kids as best friends. My sister May is best friends with Xander's sister Summer, my brother Stephen is best friends with Miguel's twin brothers Jay and Kay. But having some Latin heritage it's a close family affair which I love(sometimes) if you are not the center of the joke. Every weekend the three families spend time together and boy is it dramatic. Xander is the cliché basketball captain, tall, has this bad boy look but his an amazing guy. Girls are always all over him. I know he sleeps around but I think he just needs a girl maybe who can change him. I don't know if I can but I always imagine myself been that girl. Then we have Miguel, tall, girls say his good looking but I mean I've grown up with him and well I don't pay attention. But we are extremely close, even when Xander drifts away, Miguel is always there. Then it leaves me, the shy girl who's bestfriends with the hot guys. I mean no one even pays attention to me, so let's just say I don't really have a social life out of the family and community circle. Now that you have got a brief introduction to my life, this is my road.
