I could have never imagined my handmaidens to be capable of violence. Zoey was a sweetheart, Mia was outspoken. Neither of them ever showed any inclination towards it. Yet when we escaped from the palace, they left the role of handmaiden behind and instead became guards.  Mia kicked the head, causing it to fly a few metres into the air and land near the creek.
