A chill swept through the room. Though his face was composed, his burning gaze was saying otherwise.
Everyone felt the tension, and Beverly and Marianne exchanged worried glances as Cain fixed his tie, the controlled rage in his tone enough to make anyone’s skin crawl.
“Noah, head to Herm Group immediately. Finalize the document prep and chairman transition. I’ll ensure this collaboration gets back on track,” he commanded, his voice cold as steel.
Marianne’s voice wavered as she asked, “G-Grandfather, where are you going?”
Cain’s icy stare landed on her. “I’m going to deal with Hermione myself.”
With that, Cain stormed out, slamming the door behind him.
