Chapter 4 The Warszawa Restaurant was located at 3 Smolka Square. In the middle of the dining room, decorated with white and green marble, there was a fountain with fish swimming in it. Unlike other pubs, where the clientele constantly changed from the day to the night, in Warszawa mostly the same people hung out. At night they would sometimes spend what they had earned during the day at the same table. And although they were basically the same group of people all the time, daytime was significantly different from nighttime. During the day, regulars were immersed in newspapers or discussions, without leaving their tables, forming separate groups, each of which lived its own life minding its own business. In the evening, the tables were covered with white tablecloths, the newspapers were f
