“That’s the thing Devin. This is the real Mason, not the one sitting in the throne for a hundred years.”Farah said.
Devin turned towards Farah, confused with what she said.
“What?”
“What she says is true Devin.”Mason said.
Devin looked at Mason again.
“What the hell are you talking about?”
“I am the real Mason and the one on the throne was Marlon.”
Devin furrowed his eyebrows when he heard what Mason said.
“What the hell man? We never talked about Marlon, it’s forbidden! You forbid it remember? Besides, Marlon is dead!”Devin exclaimed.
Mason groaned and rubbed the palms of his hands on his face.
“Devin what he said is true.”Farah said, and Devin looked at her.
“Farah I don’t know how you knew about Marlon, but please enough.”Devin said.
Farah sighed.
“He is not dead Devin. There are two of them. Call the King if you want, check on him.”Farah said.
“I don’t know how you got the king to play this game Farah but it’s not funny anymore. What will you gain in all of this?”Devin said.
Farah rolled her eyes.
“I know this is hard to explain because I can’t. I just found him inside that stupid maze in the garden.”Farah said, and Devin’s eyes widened.
“Maze? In the garden?”He asked and Farah nodded.
“Last night?”He asked again and Farah nodded again.
“But Farah, nothing is in the maze. I’ve been there a few times and there in nothing there.”Devin paused and sighed.
“Just so the both of you stop this nonsense, I’ll call.”Devin said, and then he pulled out his phone and dialled the king’s number.
It took three rings before someone answered the call.
“What is it Devin? I’m in a meeting now. What do you want?”
When Devin heard the king’s voice, his eyes widened as he look at the Mason in front of him.
“S-Sorry I must’ve accidently called you.”Devin softly said before hanging up.
“Who are you? Is that you Marlon?”Devin asked Mason.
Mason sighed.
“I told you I am the real Mason, and the one who’s in the throne for hundred years is Marlon.”Mason said.
Devin took a step back and pulled something from his back. Farah gasped when Devin pulled out a gun and pointed it towards Mason.
“Answer me, who are you and what do you want?”Devin snarled.
Mason rolled his eyes.
“I told you I am the real Mason. What the heck happened to you? When did you become so stupid?”Mason sneered at Devin.
Devin c****d his gun and pointed it back to Mason.
“Devin, what made you so sure that the Mason in the throne years is the real Mason?”Farah asked.
“What? Of course we’ve been together for so long! I know Mason like the back of my hand.”Devin said.
“How about the scent? Are there any difference or the same between them?”Farah asked.
Devin sniffed the Mason in front of him and furrowed his eyebrows.
“The scent is the same.”Devin hissed.
“What? How can we have the same scent when Marlon smelled like mud?! He was banished!”Mason snarled.
“Is there anything else –“
Farah was cut off when Devin snarled at her.
“Why are you conniving with this man? What will you get out from all of this?”Devin asked.
Farah was taken back and then she looked down.
“Don’t talk to her like that! All she wants was to help me! She was the one who freed me from that prison when everyone I thought will help me didn’t even notice that I wasn’t the on in the throne!”Mason growled.
And then something in Devin wants to submit towards the man who claims to be Mason. Devin gritted his teeth as he fought the urge submit.
“What is this magic? Why is my wolf submitting to you?”Devin snarled.
Farah approached Devin and held his shoulders.
“There’s no magic Devin. Your wolf just recognizes his king.”Farah said.
Devin barred his canines and shook his head. Farah tried to calm him down.
“Listen carefully Devin, and think.”She said.
Devin took several deep breaths.
“Okay I will ask you question and please answer them truthfully.”Farah said and Devin nodded.
“Devin is there anything that you think is strange in the king’s actuation?”Farah asked.
“Nothing, he has been the same ever since.”Devin paused, and then he remembered what happened last night in the party.
“But last night, last night he cheated on Renata.”Devin said, and Mason stood still and turned to Devin.
“What do you mean he cheated to the Queen?”Farah asked, and then she looked at Mason who was fuming.
“He fvck the twins last night.”Devin said.
Farah gasped.
“The twins? As in Silvanus and Sylvia Ross?”Farah asked and Devin nodded.
“What the fvck?!”Mason roared.
“Did Renata found out? What the fvck is he thinking fvcking those dung beetles?!”Mason growled, grabbing a vase and threw it to the wall.
Devin lowered the gun he was holding and he looked at Mason as if he was not real.
“W-What did you j-just say?”Devin asked.
Farah looked at Devin and the Royal Beta looked at her.
“You heard what he said right?”Devin asked, and Farah nodded.
“He called them dung beetles.”Farah said.
Devin totally lowered the gun he was holding.
“Mason called the Ross twins dung beetles because –“
“Because they’re full of s**t, that’s why!”Mason cut him off with a snarl.
Devin felt like the air was knocked off him.
“H-How?”Devin asked.
“You believe us now?”Farah asked, and Devin slowly nodded.
“I think. Only the Mason I know would call the twins dung beetles.”Devin said.
“Of course they’re dung beetles! They’re so dirty like dung!”Mason snarled, and began pacing.
“Why would he call them that?”Farah asked.
“Why?”Mason paused and looked at Farah.
“Why? Because those two fvck everything with two legs! They have all these germs that make people sick!”Mason exclaimed.
Devin looked at Farah.
“Mason is quite a germaphobe. So he won’t even touch the twins let alone let them suck his dῚck.”Devin added.
Mason and Farah’s eyes widened with what Devin said.
“He did that? Yuck!”Mason cringed.
Devin let out a loud sigh and tucked the gun back to his waistband.
“That’s Mason alright.”Devin said.
Mason glared at him.
“Of course it’s me! I can’t believe you let me rot there!”Mason sneered.
“In my defense I thought you are having the time of your life inside the palace!”Devin sneered back.
“You should’ve known it wasn’t me in the first place!”
“How would I know when you have the same scent?!”
“You should’ve listened to your wolf instinct!”
“My wolf never told me anything until today!”
The King and his Beta exchanged banters like kids. Farah sighed and crossed her arms over her chest.
“Are you two done?”She asked, and the two men stopped snarling at each other.
“Sit.”Farah said, and they went to sit on the high chairs while Farah unpacks the food that Devin brought.
“If you are imprisoned in the middle of the garden maze how come no one ever seen you except Farah?”Devin asked.
“How would I know?”Mason grumbled.
“How did you end up there anyway?”Devin asked, and Mason sighed.
“After my meeting with Lucca that day, I went to take a walk in the garden. Something hard hit the back of my head and I lost consciousness. And the next thing I know, I was inside a prison cell but I can see the whole garden. And I saw Marlon’s face laughing at me.”Mason told Devin. There was a moment of silence between them, until Farah took a sit beside Mason.
“Do you think Marlon was working with a witch?”Farah asked, and both men looked at her.
“Marlon don’t have any gift because he’s not the first born. So the only logical explanation with everything happened is because he had help.”Devin said, and Mason nodded.
“Devin I want, no I need a detailed report of everything that happened while I was locked up.”Mason said.
“What for?”Devin asked.
“I need to know everything before I take care of Marlon. Right now I don’t who is my ally and who is my enemy.”Mason said.
“I pledged my loyalty to the king, to the first born of the Nighthowl Clan. You are my King and best friend Mason.”Devin said.
“I will help too. I will be your ally.”Farah said.
Mason smiled at them.
“Thank you. I don’t need much allies, all I need is true and loyal, for I don’t know what Marlon has done or what he’s doing. I need to move precisely.”Mason said.
“If you need help we all know who can help you.”Devin said.
“I know. But I need the reports first.”Mason said, and Devin scowled.
“You really are Mason. All you think of are reports.”Devin said.
Farah smiled looking at them. Somehow she is happy that Mason at least got his best friend back. Now she wants to help him get his whole kingdom back.
