Her Ruthless Boss

Episode 2 : it happens today 2

It’s not like James controls the internship process by himself, but his moderators and the program mangers report to him. No one has to set foot in his empire headquarters without a background check, his employees make sure of it … any hint in your past history that might seem suspicious and you’re out! Denied of everything with no feasible explanation.

His empire is ruthless like him. His employees feared him to death. He sees it in their eyes when he walks by! And he sees it in the candidate's and the fresh graduates eyes when he gives his speech! Ahhhhh! What a pleasure to be feared ! He likes to look in everyone’s eyes when he gives his speech, knowing that no one pays attention to sword he’s saying, but they are mesmerized by his looks, presence and dominance.

That’s the one and only time those interns will be able to see his handsome face. And man, it gives the vibe of fear and aspiration to work for this man and be a member of his empire.

He likes to keep everything under his control without being seen or being in direct contact with those who work for him. Only his assistant, secretary, personal guard and driver can report to him … his lifelong friend Mathew. Mathew fears James like all the others, but he encountered his soft side many times when it comes to family. James can sacrifice his soul, his empire for his family: his brothers and his mother.

Another side of James that only Mathew knew in the human world that James is the alpha of his pack! Yes, James is the alpha king of the midnight moon pack! Since his father ( the former alpha king ) passed away, James was the rightful heir and claimed the alpha king title. When Mathew discovered his double life, he was shocked! It’s not like books and movies: werewolves are only allowed to roam the human world in their human form and are not allowed to shift to their wolf form in the human world for their safety because they’ll be very vulnerable and susceptible to be killed. They have their werewolf realm it’s like a parallel universe: same America, same countries but ruled by werewolves and they’re neighbors to the vampires’ realm! Yeah, that was a shocker to Mathew too. They do work and do business in both realms and the human world and there’s a silent Cold War between the two realms in both: the human world and the mystical world as Mathew calls it.

When James’ father died he became alpha, his brother Caleb became beta , his twin brothers were running his werewolf world company and Mathew was running his human world company and James had to tell Mathew the truth to justify his frequent disappearances every now and then.

Mathew loved James like his own brother and would do anything to protect him werewolf or not and James considered Mathew like his human brother and truly cares for him but didn’t show it, but he appreciated his loyalty and his presence in his life.

Lost in his thoughts, James heard a knock on his bedroom door … in his usual calm but the dominant voice he answered:” Come in, Mathew”

Mathew entered the room in a cheerful mode and when he saw James a whistle escaped his mouth:” Fweeet … looking good boss! Those interns have no chance of survival! … they’ll piss their pants !”

“Shut up Mathew! I won’t eat them … yet !” A chuckle escaped James’ mouth when he adjusted his tie one last time.

“Is the car ready ?!” James asked.

Mathew regained his serious look:” yes boss, we’re ready to leave !”

James handed him his briefcase and Mathew opened the door for him and followed James outside his room.

A black rolls Royce was waiting for James on the driveway of his mansion. Mathew hurried to open the back door for him, James slides in with a smirk on his handsome face … imagining the look on the poor interns’ faces when he walked in the conference room.

Lily was sitting in the front row of the spacious conference room, beside her was another intern with blonde hair, an impeccable chic outfit, a muscular body build and a smile that only a rich wealthy jerk could smile … she’s an expert when it comes to rich wealthy jerks, she was surrounded by them all the time . That’s why she ran away from this world to another independent life.

All she can remember from his constant blabbering is that his name was Thomas, and of course, Thomas was a daddy’s little boy who came here thanks to his father's connections and he’ll be definitely the first in the top ten candidates eligible to work for Hugh Holdings.

Lily rolled her eyes of boredom from his nonstop bragging of his father’s wealth, she cut him off mid sentence : “Um … excuse me , Thomas isn’t it ?! Do you have an Advil , cause my head is killing me and you’re not helping , so maybe make yourself a little bit useful and stop talking or hand me that Advil !”

Thomas was shocked by her response! He looked in front of him and never spoke a word again . Only thinking in his mind how does this b*tch dare to embarrass him this way in front of everyone! She must pay for it.

Lily was getting impatient while waiting for the so called CEO to come and give his speech! He’s late, 30 minutes late and she hates people who are not on time … even if he’s the CEO.

She got up to get herself a cup of coffee to kill time, she wasn’t lying to Thomas when she said she had a headache … 100 people in one room, no matter how spacious, well aired is the room, still these 100 people are all talking in the same time. She held the cup of coffee between her hands and let the warmth envelop her in this chilly day. Fall is her favorite season and New York is the best place to be in during Fall.

She closed her eyes and cherished the moment, she felt she was in the right place, in the right time … the world is doing her good, that’s her opportunity, that was her dream , she could do it … and suddenly she heard silence like she could abolish the outside noise, shut down the murmurs and side talks. Still closing her eyes and hugging the cup of coffee in her hands, her golden brown hair falling on her shoulders, she looked charming, beautiful and so attractive. Suddenly she opened her eyes to see all the room looking at her, her back was to the conference room door, standing beside the coffee corner and facing the entire crowd in the room. Still unaware of why the entire room was actually silent and everyone is seated, no more talking and all eyes on her … only then she felt his presence behind her, tall and dark, dominant and his intoxicating scent enveloped her … She felt his breath on her neck, and she had goosebumps all over her arms … and in a sound like velvet she heard him whisper dominantly in her ear :

”would you please sit down”
