Damon I know she also feel the connection between the both of us, by why she is trying to fight us is beyond me. I looked at the red roses lying carefully on my car seat. I hope she is a flower person, every woman loves flowers right? Could she be avoiding me because of the call with Adriana? I don't think so, she permitted the call herself. I don't know why she is running, but one thing I know is that I have every intention to continue chasing. I pulled over at her work place at exactly four o'clock. I stood outside my car, waiting for her to emerge from the entrance door. Five minutes later she came out, laughing and holding that guy from the other day. Is he the reason why she is running away from what we could possibly have? I stared at the guy, like fully stared at him and I know that physically he isn't much of a competition but woman always have a way of surprising you when it comes to choosing men. At least Adriana taught me that. She looked towards where I stood and came to a halt when she saw me. The guy who I've gradually begin to dislike whispered something in her ear before walking towards the opposite direction. She approached me but stopped few steps away from me, a space that I didn't like so I had to take a step forward, hold her waist and draw her in for a hug. "I missed you cariño" She patted my back awkwardly before I released her "What are you doing here Damon?" "Is that an actual question cariño? I told you we will be having another date" She tried to say something but I silenced her with my index finger in the air "but that's not why am here" I opened my car and brought out the roses. I handed it over to her. She sniffed them and smiled they are really lovely Damon, thank you" "You're welcome. So I am here to drop you off. I think by now, we've established that am not a stranger" I could see it in her eyes that she wants to argue but decided against it. I opened the door and held it open as she entered. Few minutes later, we were on our way to her house. The air conditioning, country music and silence in the car seem to be the perfect time to raise this. "My friend invited me to his engagement party, and I am expected to bring a plus one. So I was meaning to ask if you will accompany me as my plus one." She bit her lips, a habit Ive noticed that happens whenever she is thinking hard. "What type of event is that Damon? Is it a black tie event?" "You can't expect less from the Hamptons" Her eyes grew wide "we are visiting the Hamptons? I don't have a dinner gown appropriate for such event Damon" I placed one of hands on hers "calm down cariño, I'll have something sent to your apartment tomorrow. I'm sure it will go a long way in concern to the dress" She continued to bit her lips and it took everything in me not to kiss her senseless. I shifted on my seat to adjust the boner forming in my pants. I reached out and released her lower lips from the pressure of her teeth. "If you keep doing that, you'll draw blood" "I don't think I attend that event Damon, I mean the Hamptons? Nobody in that party is my level Damon. Look at me" I parked the car illegally at the road side, then turned to her fully "I am looking at you cariño and do you know what I see?" She shook her head "I see a very beautiful young woman, who will be the envy of every woman at the party and the lady every man at that party wishes is theirs. So get that thought out of your head. Those ladies may be endowed with expensive clothes, purse and jewelries but to me, they are nothing compared to you because you are the only woman who has my attention. Okay?" She nodded her head. Unable to resist any longer, I drew in and placed my lips on hers. I gave her a slow and steady kiss, a kiss reminding her that am here and will always be. When I pulled away, she smiled. "We need to get out of here before the cops get here" I fired the engine and drove away. In less than thirty minutes, we were parked outside her apartment. To my surprise, she gave me a quick goodnight kiss before getting down and heading to her door. I watched her close the door and switched on her lights before I drove away. On my way home, I called my secretary. "Hello Victoria?" "Good evening sir' "Yeah...I want you to get a nice dinner gown for my woman, and I want you to deliver it to the address I'll send across to you" "Do you have a limit sir?" "Go wild Victoria, I want her to be the best understood?" "Yes sir" I ended the call while grinning to myself. I can't wait to see her on Friday looking beautiful in that very gown Victoria will choose for her. Instead of driving home, I decided to drop by Vincent's house. Vincent Hamptons is a friend I made the few years that I moved to New York and we have been really close since then. I pressed his door bell and waited patiently for him to open. He opened and grinned at me. "How did you get past the security without them notifying me?" I pushed him out of the way as I walked into the house. "Because they know I have more authority than you do ass hat" He laughed out loud "try that at the office and I might actually believe you. So what brought you to my house Damon?" I helped myself with a glass of whiskey "can't I just drop by Vincent? You do that all the time in my own house" He picked up his own glass and placed it before me "don't get me wrong Damon, but whenever you feel like brooding over Adriana, you call me over to a club. This is the first time you are visiting my house without an emergency" "You make me sound like a bad friend Vincent" He chuckled "I never said you are a good friend. So what brought you here?" I smiled "I met someone, a very lovely young lady. She's really pretty Vincent. Just wait until you see her" "Slow down Damon, how serious are you with her?" "I don't know, we just met but I know for sure that she's mine" He dropped his glass on the table "you need to slow down Damon, we don't want what happened with Adriana to repeat itself, so you have to take it slow" "You think I don't know that already? Am taking it damn slow with her but don't mistake it for uncertainty. I am sure that she will be mine at the end" "Then get ready to have one hell of a fight with Adriana and you know she doesn't fight fair."
