"How long have you been here, Oana?" I asked the timid girl as she took me around the packhouse to get me acquainted with the surroundings as ordered by luna Grace.
"Uh, a year," she answered and I couldn't help but notice more red welts on her pale arms.
Kai was mistreating her. I was old enough to understand that and as much as I want to bombard her with questions and then give the asshole beta a piece of my mind, I just cannot. My hands were tied because I was not the luna yet and it annoyed me that Grace didn't notice this even though it was very much on the face and she was amiable enough towards Oana to be so heedless.
"Has it been nice here?" I probed, trying not to sound snoopy. She glanced up at me and gave me a small smile.
"Yes. Everyone is quite nice," she nodded
