Alena
We had just arrived at the arena for soundcheck, and right enough there was paps and fans outside.
“You ready for this, beautiful?” Ryker asked.
“As ready as I can be,” I smiled.
My i********: has been blowing up since this morning. I had briefly looked at the comments, most were good, but I noticed a few that were not. Those ones were wondering why Ryker would want to be with someone like me when he can have anyway. I ignored them and have been trying my best not to let them bother me. I have not mentioned them to Ryker, and he must not have seen them because he has not brought them up either.
Ryker got out first, before giving me a hand out of the car. I smiled at him, and he slipped his arm around my waist, keeping me close. The cameras were already flashing in our direction, the paps firing questions at us. Some were just the usual; then some were not so nice.
How long is this one going to last, Ryker?
Does she know who you really are?
Ryker ignored them, not letting go of me once. The fans were being a lot nicer when we got close to them, that what the paps were.
“I am so happy for you guys,” One smiled, “I knew you two would end up together,” She added giggling.
I smiled, thanking her and pulled away from Ryker, only to take some photos of Ryker chatting and laughing with them, signing autographs and taking pictures. He was utterly blanking the paps that were around. I smiled, watching him. I was so in love with this man; it was all a little crazy. I headed inside, leaving him to it for a bit.
“How was that?” Maddie asked, appearing in front of me.
“It was alright, though those paps are assholes,” I said.
“Yes, they are,” She said, “They would rather find a way to bring Ryker down, and write bad things about him because the bad boy Rockstar sells better,” She added.
That did sound about right. It has been a while since he has given them something to sell that keeps up his “bad boy” image. I wish they would just let him be and realise he was a good a guy, not some asshole who they can bring down when they please.
“I wish they would leave him alone, but I know that won’t happen,” I said, shaking my head.
“It comes with his lifestyle,” She said, giving me a half-smile.
“I know,” I said.
I grabbed myself a bottle of water before sitting on the sofa backstage. I grabbed my phone, my i********: notifications in their thousands. I had a look through some of them, probably not the best idea but I couldn’t help it. One caught my eye, one that was just mean.
You are not worthy of Ryker; he can do better than a nobody like you. He can get any girl he wants, why he chose you I don’t know. I am sure he will get bored soon and find someone better.
I sat staring at it for the next five minutes. I was trying not to let it bother me, but I could feel the tears brim in my eyes. I hear the door open, Ryker coming in. I put my phone away, quickly wiping my eyes. I don’t want him to see me upset.
Ryker came over, sitting down next to me. He looked at me for a moment, a look of concern on his face.
“Are you OK, sweetheart? You look like you have been crying,” He said, taking my hand in his.
Damn it! I forgot how good he can read me now. He has learned how my emotions work.
“It is nothing, I am acting silly,” I said shrugging it off.
“It can’t be silly if it is upsetting you,” He said softly, “Please tell me what is wrong? No secrets remember,” He added, pushing the hair away from my face.
I sighed, reaching for my phone. I never wanted to show him, but he knew something was wrong, and we don’t lie to each other, that is part of our deal. I don’t want him getting mad at his fans because of me. I hesitantly gave him my phone with the message on the screen. It was a private message. The person has taken the time to write what she thought in a private message, sending it straight to me.
I watch his entire body tense up as he read it, anger taking over his face.
“How dare she,” Ryker hissed, “I am going to reply to her, and make sure she knows she has no right talking to you that way,” He added.
“No,” I said firmly, grabbing my phone away from him.
“Alena, I can’t just sit by and do nothing,” He said, annoyed.
“Yes you can, leave it, please,” I said, “We knew everyone was not going to be happy with us, and I don’t want you getting into it with your fans,” I added.
“But,” He started.
“But nothing, leave it OK? I beg you,” I said, “I will delete it and block her ass, she isn’t worth it,” I added.
He sighed, running his fingers through his hair and nodded his head. I don’t want him giving people a reason to get at him. I was a big girl. I will ignore it and move on.
“Thank you,” I said, kissing him.
“Alena, if I see any more comments or DMs like this from anyone, I will be saying something,” He said, wrapping his arm around my shoulder.
“Or you just leave it alone,” I said, resting my head on his shoulder, “We can’t please everyone,” I added.
“I will try, but I am not going to make any promises,” He said, kissing the top of my head.
I think from now on unless he sees comments like that one, I am not going to tell him. Yes, I will hate lying to him, but I was doing it for the best. I don’t want to cause any trouble, and I sure don’t want him getting into it with his fans. His career is important too.
I left it at that, not wanting the conversation to carry on.
“You coming out to watch soundcheck?” He asked, looking down at me.
“Well duh, do you think I would miss out on seeing my sexy boyfriend up on stage doing his thing, even for only soundcheck?” I said, smirking up at him.
“Sexy uh?” He said, smirking back at me.
“Mmm, yes, very sexy,” I said, kissing him, “And I will show you later, just how sexy I think you are,” I added, biting my lip.
“f**k, behave baby girl, or I am not going to make soundcheck,” He said.
I giggled, pulling away from him and getting to my feet. I extended my hand to him, which he took, and I pulled him to his feet. He was quick to slip his arms around me and pull me into his chest.
“I swear as soon as soundcheck is done, we are going back to the hotel,” He groaned, grabbing my ass.
“Mmm, I can’t wait,” I said.
We behaved after that. It was for the best. We headed out to the stage. I joined Maddie, Perri and Natalie down at the front though to let the guys get on with soundcheck. I loved watching him on stage; he belongs up there.
“Alena, we have another photographer join us tonight,” Natalie said, “She is the daughter of a friend of mine, it is to give her some experience because this is what she wants to do. She will be here for the two nights,” She added.
“OK, looking forward to it,” I smiled.
“And maybe if she does well tonight, you can let her do it alone tomorrow night. That way you can have a night off, and watch the show from side stage, but we need to see how she gets on first,” Natalie said.
I liked the sound of that. It isn’t something I have ever had the chance to do, watching the entire show from side stage.
“That would be perfect,” I smiled.
It made life easier that everyone on this tour supported our relationship and were happy for us, especially Natalie. She smiled, and we turned back to the stage, ready to watch soundcheck.
I will make sure this girl joining me will do amazingly tonight so that I can see the show without having to work.
