Ellis Cora’s face as I mention Alford is priceless and I wish I had a picture. She leaves reluctantly trying to get me to finish my drink. I’m not stupid. I’m sure she drugged it considering her outfit. The way she kept letting her satin robe slip off her shoulders to show off the lace nightie underneath…it made me want to grab her a shirt. But then I won’t share my clothes with her. Groaning at how much time I had to spend with her today, I shrug out of my tuxedo. So much for my swim with Laurel. Course Daphne said she basically got champagne drunk. I texted her a few times and she never answered. I truly hoped she would be asleep here when I got back. I step into her room finding her buried under the duvet. She’s tossing and turning. Without hesitating, I lift her and carry her back
