Atlantis’ POV
"Atlantis!" I turned around when I heard someone calling my name. There are only two people who calls me that, my brother and Jack.
My steps immediately halted as soon as I saw him jogging in my direction.
Once he reached my location, my brows furrowed after realizing how he is dripping wet with all the sweat running down on his face and if I wasn't used to how handsome he looked, I'd probably end up like those girls a few meters away from us drooling over him.
"What?" I asked without any emotion. My face blank and my voice so low I was sure he was barely able to hear me. The sooner he was able to say what he wanted to say, the better. I don't like the idea of talking to him when there are a lot of people.
Jack isn't an ordinary university student but one of the most popular ones like my brother. And being with popular people simply spells trouble.
Besides, in this university, I'm invisible. I doubt any of those girls realizes that he was actually talking to me.
He was panting, his arms resting on his knees as he tries to catch his breath.
"Why weren't you answering your phone?" he asked me and I scowled at him.
"I left it at home," I deadpanned answered. I rarely bring my phone with me since I only communicate with my parents which happens very rarely. The only thing that I keep with me wherever I go is my pencil and a small sketchpad in case I suddenly had this urge to draw.
He was looking at me like I just grew some balls over my face, "You left your f*****g phone at your house?" he exclaimed at me like it was the stupidest thing he had ever heard in his lifetime.
I turned to him, my hands on my waist, "What the f**k do you need Jack?" I asked him and his eyes widened probably remembering the reason why he was running for me in the first place.
"Yes, okay," he started but I was sure he was starting to panic. "Josh," he started and I waited for him to continue. "Josh sprained his ankle," he stated and I waited for him to tell me something crazier like my brother losing his finger or something. But he was just staring at me waiting for a reaction.
"Yeah?" I asked him, still clueless.
His eyes widened, exasperated about my lack of reaction.
"What?!" his voice suddenly getting louder and I had to shut his mouth by covering it by my hands since a few of the students are starting to look more closely in our direction.
"What is your problem?" I asked him incredulously.
Why am I even friends with this i***t? He's exactly like my freaking' brother - loud.
After understanding the situation, he lowered down his voice as he stared at me like I'm an alien.
"Atlantis, your brother is out at our practice room upset because he sprained his ankle. You should know how much he loves to dance and you're giving me that reaction?" he told as of breaking down the most important information in the history of mankind.
I stared at him for a while, checking if he was indeed serious or not but the moment I saw his lips twitching, I knew this damn kid is really serious.
"Okay, I get it. He sprained his ankle but shouldn't you guys be bringing him in the infirmary or the hospital instead of bothering me? I can't heal sprained ankles Jack. The best thing I can do is fix my broken nail," I explained and he groan.
"We did, Atlantis okay, we're not that careless. But he ended up staying in the practice room and he seemed so depressed. I figure you can go and talk him out because he refuses our offer of sending him home," he stated and I puffed the air out of my mouth before biting the inside of my cheeks.
"You do realize me and my brother acts like we don't know each other at school right?" I told him and he nodded.
"Well, let me tell you, us in school is the same as us being at home. We don't talk. So sorry but I can't help you," I spat at him before turning my back determine to leave the poor man behind but before I can even muster two steps, his hand grabbed my arm and started pulling me making me run along with him.
Like, s**t, that's Jack and aside from dancing, he play every sport in this school. How do you expect me to be able to stop him from dragging me around the place?
"Slowdown will you?" I snickered but he still continuously drag me to where I assume my brother was. To be honest, I never really bother checking where my brother goes. My daily life only consisted of me going to school, drawing sketches and checking out my neighbour - that's it and I'm determine for my daily routine to stay like that.
As soon as we reached what seemed to be their practice room, I notice a few girls camping outside perhaps trying to get a glimpse of the boys. I sometimes forget how extremely famous these boys are.
The moment we entered the place, I was greeted by a room filled with so many mirrors, a few musical instruments on the right corner and a huge player and a speaker on the other.
However, I noticed how the place seemed to be a little dark. The moment I turned my body a little, I saw the silhouette of my brother from the corner. He was sitting on the floor, his bad leaning on the mirrored wall. The next thing I noticed was the bandage covering his right foot, my lips immediately forming an o-shape at the sight of it.
His aura looks a little too gloomy and I wasn't used to seeing him like this.
Does he really like dancing and singing that much?
Due to our indifference, I never once paid attention to my brother's liking. To be honest, I never even watched any of his performance, regardless if Dev was performing with him.
I was too focused into observing my brother I didn't even notice Jack leaving us alone.
With a heavy heart, I started moving closer to where he was seated. I'm not really sure if he will listen but I'm already here so might as well try.
He must have noticed my presence because when I was just five steps away from him, he looked at my direction and I noticed the moist around his eyes.
Did he cry?
As soon as our eyes locked, he avoided my glance and didn't even utter a word.
However, it was clear that he wasn't even shaken by the fact that I saw him in this state.
"Leave Lantis. Don't go around hanging out with Jack," he stated and I was quite shocked that he knew who brought me here.
I cleared my throat before answering. "You should tell him not to bother me. It's not like you would listen to me anyway," I snickered but deep inside, I was being careful. He looked a little depress and he's still my brother. I wouldn't really like it if something happens to him.
Soft chuckles escaped his lips and I was a little taken aback.
"You know, I never really did apologized for being mean to you since we were younger," He started and I raised my eyebrow at him.
What has gotten into him?
"I guess this is karma," he bitterly stated and I felt my chest tightening.
"Hey, stop talking rubbish, Josh. That is so not you," I told him but he just smiled which made me even more confused.
"You i***t, come here and pull me. Let's go home," My brows furrowed even more.
Something is definitely off with my brother. However, I still walked closer to him and pull him. Might as well bring him home then. I'm not really in the mood to attend my last class anyways.
"Gosh Josh, stop going in the gym!" I told him as I struggle to pull him up. "Where the hell is Jack? He should be carrying you not me," I mumbled and I felt my brother flick me by the forehead.
"Awww!" I grunted and he just chuckled.
"I didn't know you have a girlfriend Josh," I was startled when I heard a very familiar voice from behind us.
As soon as the person's face flashes before us, my hands fell on my sides and unfortunately, my hands which is supporting my brother's from balancing himself slipped the next thins I heard were his loud wailing echoing the room.
"Yah, yah, Atlantis!" A loud thud echoed the whole room and my eyes widened at my brother who ended up falling his a*s flat on the surface.
And then, I heard a loud and hearty laughter resonating the whole room, my heart started beating rapidly and my body stiffened at the sight of him.
Holy s**t. Devon is standing in front of me, water dripping down his body.
Shirtless.
Good gracious.
