Chapter 4

EMERALD sighs as she walks toward the empty hall masyado pang maaga kaya't naisip niya muna na gumala sa loob ng campus, she misses her old life way back her college days 'tho she is indeed in college again. Masaya siyang napangiti habang dumaraan sa pasilyo her eyes wondered around reminiscing the old good days with her bestfriend. She tried her best not to cry ang matalik niyang kaibigan lamang ang tanging nakakaintindi sa kanya, although Amethyst is around yet still ina pa rin ang best friend niya.

"How are you?"

malungkot niyang bulong habang nakatingin sa paborito nilang tambayan ng kaibigan. She is here for revenge but something is not right, but she just couldn't let it go.

"Masyado pang maaga para sa first class mo. What are you doing here?"

Agad siyang napabuntong hininga ng marinig ang tinig ni Nexon mula sa kanyang likuran. Dahan dahan niyang hinarap ang binata at pekeng ngumiti dito. Nexon shouts handsomeness tila nalunok niya ang kaway habang pinag mamasdan ang binata, his green eyes were looking at her ang ganda din ng pag kakaayos sa buhok nito bumagay sa suot niyang navy blue slacks top with a long sleeve white polo.

"Shit..." she mumbled.

mabilis siyang tumalikod at mag lalakad na sana palayo ng hawakan siya ni Nexon sa wrist at hilahin siya pabalik dahilan upang dumantay ang katawan niya sa matigas na dibdib nito.

"Bakit nag mamadali ka yata?"

Emerald gulped, hindi naman mainit pero nag bubutil butil ang pawis niya sa noo. She couldn't move, tila isa siyang statue na nakasandal sa matigas na pader and as much as someone would pish her off she wouldn't budge at all.

"Can you let me go?" nanginginig na boses na wika niya.

Nexon smirks with satisfaction. Eto ang reaksyon na nais niyang makuha mula sa dalaga and she didn't disappoint him.

"Fine." He smirked. "I'll see you in class later "

Emerald groaned in annoyance as she watch the great Nexon walk away tila chill na chill pa itong nag lalakad habang nilalaro ang susi sa daliri.

"Madulas ka sana!"

as early as it is her mind is already in chaos as the effect of him still wondered through her mind. Ang mabango at matigas nitong dibdib na tila kay sarap haplu—Damn!

Mabilis na tumayo si Emerald at nag mamadaling lumabas ng classroom matapos marinig ang bell, she couldn't stand it paano ba naman ni hindi naaalis ang mga titig ni Nexon sa kanya it seems like he is playing with her and she doesn't like it at all. Mabilis niyang tinungo ang parking lot kung saan nakaparada ang sasakyan niya, good thing she got her car back. But her jaw dropped wide open when she saw her flat tire.

"What the hell?!"

Para siyang mata na gusto ng umiyak habang nakatingin sa flat niyang gulong, kakaayos lang nito ngunit mukhang sinusubok siya ng panahon at ng demenyong si Nexon.

"Hey Emerald right?"

agad siyang napalingon sa lalaking tumawag mula sa kanyang likuran.

"Hi!" masiglang wika nito. His eyes darted to her flat tire. "Need a ride?"

She was about to reject his offer ng makita niya si Nexon di kalayuan patungo sa direksyon nila she gulped and immediately nodded hinawakan niya ang braso niyo at awkward na ngumiti.

"Where is your car?"

Masama ang tingin ni Nexon habang nakatingin sa papaalis na sasakyan, he balled his fist in anger as he remembers how Emerald hold that mans elbow and walks on his car with him.

"Sir Cohen?"

Agad siyang napalingon ng may tumawag mula sa kanyang likuran, if he is not mistaken this is Mariah. One of her students and Emeralds friend, tipid siyang ngumiti sa dalaga acknowledging her presence bago ito nilagpasan. Dali dali siyang nag tungo sa office niya at naupo, he took a bottle of water and fire up his laptop. Agad siyang napangiti ng makita ang mukha ng dating kasintahan but his smile grew bigger when his eyes darted to the woman beside her.

"Hey babe! this is Em's!"

Ang kanyang mata ay agad na sumilay sa dalagang malapd din ang ngiti sa kanya his eyes looks at her hands contemplating either if he will accept it or not but at the end he did accept it.

"Em's this is Nexon my boyfriend!" Excited na introduction ni Rica sa kanya.

Emerald's smile even grew as she shook his hand ang lambot ng kamay nito. Para itong bulak sa lambot shaking her hand feels so darn good. Mabilis niyang hinablot ang kamay sa dalaga at alanganin na ngumiti she this angelic looks, balita sa campus ang pagiging aloof at mataray ng dalaga and he also witnesses some of those scenarios but now? while he is in front of her she doesn't seem that bad.

"It's nice to finally meet you," panimula nito. "I'm Emerald Montefalco Rica's friend."

"Nexon Cohen, Nice to meet you."

AWKWARD ang naging scenario nila ni Justin habang nakaupo sa isang coffee shop at nag hihintay ng kape, nais niya ding lumubog sa kahihiyan sa ginawa niyang pag tataray sa binata. Wala naman sa nature niya ang pagiging mataray ngunit iba na kasi ang pananaw niya people will use you if you're too kind they will took advantage of you.

"I'm really sorry about what happened last time."

Justin smile he looks cute when he smile showing is perfectly white teeth but nothing is more perfect than Nexo—

"It's fine, I wouldn't talk to a total freak as well if I were you."

"What? No you're not a freak. I'm really sorry, marami lang talaga akong iniisip that time."

Justin nodded.

"Well apology accepted, and thank you for the coffee as well."

Emerald chuckled and nodded sakto naman na dumating na ang order nila.

"Hmm so I heard you're an over achiever."

Emerald sighed. She was about to stopped him but it turns out Justin didn't criticised her choice.

"Fine arts is really good, idagdag mo sa knowledge mo if you really love art then I suggest that you visit museums as well."

Emerald smile.

"That's first."

Naguguluhang tumingin sa Justin sa kanya, he couldn't get what Emerald is saying. Nahalat naman iyon ng dalaga kaya't mahina siyang napatawa.

"You're the first person who didn't ask for the reason why did I study again, nakakaturete."

Justin chuckled. "I'm in no position to question your judgement."

inubos lang nila ang kape and Justin offered to drop her off but she refused may pupuntahan pa kasi siya.

"Well if you say so," Justin says defeated. "I'll see you around."

Emerald nodded and just waited for Justin to speed off bago siya pumara ng taxi. Nag pahatid siya sa condo ng kapatid, she misses Amethyst pero mukhang wala doon ang dalaga napilitan tuloy siyang umuwi ng mas maaga kahit ayaw niya pa.

"Himala na ang aga mo," Silver stated as he started sipping his coffee.

"Hmmm I'm kinda tired."

"Nexon dropped by,"

agad siyang napahinto sa pag lalakad at tumingin da kapatid waiting for him to say that he was just joking pero hindi nito sinabi iyon.

"He dropped this envelope, sabi niya para sa'yo daw."

Agad siyang lumapit sa lamesa at dinampot ang brown envelop na nakalapag doon. Mag sasalita pa sana si Silver ngunit dali dali na siyang umakyat at umalis, tinungo niya ang kanyang silid at mabilis na binuksan ang envelop her eyes watered in pain as she holds several pictures. Larawan nila iyon her trembling hand touch the picture and burst into tears.
