2009   Emily stood in the crowded hallway, her classmates rushing past her.  She adjusted the strap of her backpack on her shoulder as she pulled out her biology textbook from the pale green locker.    Biting her lip she glanced around the hallway, shutting the locker as she turned to walk to class. Her birthday had come and gone and she hadn’t shifted as her siblings had.  Emily hung her head as she pushed towards her class hoping not to run into anyone.  She hadn’t talked to her friends in a few days and if she were to be honest, she didn’t want to. She didn’t know how she would talk to them, or even Marco. They were all shifters, how would they be able to understand what she was going through.
