"I didn't intend to do this so soon, but you give me no other choice. After this, I doubt you will ever think of leaving me again, baby."
Catherine doesn't like being called that.
She watches him alertly. His eyes glow with a strange light, his naked body hard and sweaty. She wonders if he is going to rape her now, and she is terrified because there is nothing to stop him.
"I am sorry!" she tries to bargain with him. "Give me another chance..."
"You said that last time and yet you ran away again," he points out. "Where did you even plan on going? Your mother doesn't want you. She is ashamed of you, and you know it. Do you want to go back to the pathetic treatment she subjected you to before I rescued you?"
He might be right, but then she'd been a child when he decided to take her from her mother. She is 25 now and can live on her own and pay her own bills if given the chance, but if she had to choose between staying with him or going back to her mother, she would choose the latter.
She remains silent now, resigned. Whatever he intends to do, she has no hope to stop it. He seems to be possessed by a wild animal, and he's terrified the life out of her ever since she started living with him many years ago.
She casts her eyes down and dares to ask.
"What are you going to do?"
He doesn't respond, but she feels a sharp pain on her shoulder, the kind of pain that starts slowly before intensifying to almost unbearable degrees.
Her tank top soaks with blood, and she gasps in shock, looking at him and wishing with all her might he hasn't done what she suspects he has done.
