-Eva, hurry up we are late already!!
That is my dad Hector Jones the second richest guy in the country who manages casinos, hotels, restaurants, and is the partner of the biggest import & export company of the country Stevens & Jones Enterprise. I can't lie I'm a proud daughter he is such a strong and great man and I want to follow his steps and make him proud of me, as much as I am of him.
He was yelling from downstairs, he loves to be extra early everywhere we go, which is annoying sometimes, don't get me wrong I'm pretty crazy about tardiness too which is thanks to him but I know we still have at least 20 minutes before we have to leave for our meeting.
I have been living in Paris, France for the past 5 years studying Architecture & Design. I moved there when I was 16 because my dad wanted me to focus on my studies and since my mom wasn't with us anymore he thought it would be a good chance for me.
She died of a heart attack in her sleep. I couldn't believe when my father told me she was gone, she was a beautiful and strong woman and her death took us all for a surprise. She taught me everything I know, from putting makeup on, to do my hair, to love my curvy body, and to never let anyone treat me with nothing but respect and to treat people the way I would like to be treated it.
I miss her every day and I know my father does it too. I can only imagine what he went through waking up to her lifeless body next to him, he doesn't talk about it because it is too painful for him and I totally understand him. At least she didn't suffer, that's what he always said to me whenever the subject comes up.
Fixing my green dress that fell just on top of my knees and put on a big black coat I walk out of my room. I try to keep my makeup very simple and put my hair up in a tight bun, wearing black heels pumps. I wanted to look as professional as I could because if I wanted to respect it by the many men of this industry I have to show them my brains and what I'm capable of.
-Seriously daddy we still have 15 more minutes!!!!
I said walking downstairs and towards the kitchen.
-You, my beautiful daughter, are stunning this morning.
He said looking at me while he was sipping his coffee.
-Thanks, daddy you are always so charming.
I said blushing to his words. I pour some coffee in a cup for me as well and I stood by his side.
-How are you this morning?
I ask him.
-Oh, I'm so excited that you are finally meeting Oscar and getting in the business my darling.
He said it so proud it makes me blush again.
-I know I'm so excited to begin the project and finally getting into the business.
-I haven't told you but Max Stevens, Oscar's son is going to be there too. He is like his father's second hand in the business also, so he would be there to meet us. I haven't seen that boy in a few years because he was away on business too.
Said my father sounded it very proud again.
-I don't remember him.
I said looking at him.
-I know he's 3 years older than you so I guess you haven't seen him before.
Answer my dad again.
-Come on we're going to be late.
I told him walking to the door and getting in the blue SUV that was waiting outside for us.
-Ha, I thought we still have 15 more minutes.
Said my dad chuckling at me.
-Yeah, but since you're in a hurry we should go.
I told him smiling at him, I have loved France but nothing feels like being home and being with my old man.
