Chapter 7I built myself a huge sandwich, slathering the mayonnaise on a whole-wheat bagel. Then I piled on low sodium deli turkey, and chunks of iceberg lettuce and a few slices of tomato. Because I'd had such a near-death experience, it had inspired me to eat more healthily. I would need the mouth of an alligator in order to eat the damned thing. I sliced it with a big bread knife, and then poured myself a huge glass of milk. My insides were grinding—since I hadn't had a chance to eat at Drakulya's palace, and my wedding reception had gone on without me, because I hadn't gone to that either.
