CHAPTER SIX
Toasted.
That is the only thing that came into Rency’s mind. All that the bloggers were saying was just how she was yet another celebrity to be get into the famous basketball player’s bed. She was not exactly the sort of celebrity to walk around with paparazzi on her ass but her popularity especially in romance writing had made her quite famous. Her phone rang, distracting her from reading the pretty nasty comments underneath the article.
“Holy crap,” Misha cussed the moment Rency answered the phone.
“Please don’t lecture me, Misha,” she groaned.
“Lecture you? I want to buy you a bottle of bourbon because, girl, my panties are dripping. Might have to dress up and hit a club tonight because I’m on fire here,”
“Oh, you are talking about the part of the book I sent you,” she muttered in realization, almost face-palming herself.
“Yeah, what did you think I was talking about?”
“So you haven’t seen the tabloids have you?”
“Not yet, my phone was off and I just switched it on to call you. Wait, what happened?” She took her tablet, surfing through the internet, “You know what, don’t even answer that. Why are you trending on twitter with a picture of you in a bikini? Wait you had s*x with Mason?”
“To be fair, I had no idea who he was. I was just caught up in heat of the moment, okay?” Rency, pushing back her hair from her face as she began pacing about in her room.
“You had no idea who Mason was? We should start having some profiling classes then. I mean I don’t understand how the heck you ended up under Mason and you had no idea who he was. The media is quiet in a frenzy,”
“Yeah, the media must be having quite a field day dragging my name through mud just because I had s*x with a man. I don’t care if he was some known playboy or not. Ugh! I’m so damn frustrated-“she was cut short by her doorbell ringing-“I’ve got to go Misha. Someone is at the door,”
“Okay. We’ll talk later then,”
She padded down the stairs to her living room, pulling the front door open, ready to be pelted by her two best friends but instead, her parents stood at the door. Now, this was obviously going to be worse than her two friends combined. Her mother brushed past her, breezing into the house like she belonged there.
“I told you to fire that gateman Rency. Why is he still here?” She questioned, shrugging off her coat.
“Mum, I’m not firing Gomez and this is my house, okay,” she rolled her eyes then turned her attention to the older man grinning infectiously,” Dad,”
“Hey Kiddo,” he engulfed her lithe body with his huge arms. Rency had always been closer to her father than her mother but that was pretty obvious.
“So what is this I hear? My daughter is out sleeping with some celebrity playboy,” She eyed her daughter, sitting on the couch with legs crossed. Rency sighed.
“I don’t know who he was and besides, it was just a onetime thing. The media is going to talk for a while and forget all about it,” Rency shrugged.
“And until; it all dies out, it’s my reputation you’ll be dragging in mad. The party will be choosing their candidate next week and if I lose that chance because of you could not keep your legs closed, you and I will have a really long chat,” Rency knew immediately that was not just some mere threat. That woman would go to just any lengths to get what she wanted and if anyone were to prove to be an obstacle, then they would be getting more than just her fury.
“So what? I should threaten to shut down every media outlet if they don't turn the story around?” Rency muttered, arms crossed.
“No. As a matter of fact, this should solve our two major problems. I don’t care if you flung your panties at him or you seduce him but before the week ends, the two of you have to become an item. That way, you save my reputation and you settle down. Don’t you think this is a great idea, Bob?” Rency glanced at her father, expecting him to come to her defense.
“Of course your mother is right,” Who could blame him though? When you marry the devil’s incarnate, you would not dare defy her.

MASON’S POV
How she responded with ferocity to my touch was imprinted on my mind and no matter how much I tried to shake her off my mind, she would not get out. This was against all the rules of one night stands. It was supposed to be just plain s*x and yet all I could think of was how her body molded perfectly in mine. I had never met a woman with fire like her and well, after the tabloids exposure, I had even gotten more drawn to her. Even a full round of s*x with Teresa after I got back to my mansion didn’t help me take the raven beauty off my mind.
“What are you thinking about?” I gazed at the naked redhead lying on my chest.
“Nothing Tess,” I smiled at her, to throw her off the loop.
“Sure? Well, then let me take junior Mason here for a little wild ride,” she whispered slyly as she slid on top of me, my d**k instantly erecting against the warmth of her cunt.
“You know that my man down there is no junior, right?” I teased, desperately trying to keep my focus on Teresa but failing miserably.
“Trust me, I know,” she smirked back, rocking back and forth expertly but an urgent rapping on the knock just had to ruin the moment.
“There is a woman here to see you Mason,” My maid, Lola, shouted from outside the door. A woman? It was probably some stalker.
“Cook up some excuse Lola,” I answered, my hands going around to cup Teresa’s butt cheeks.
“She says its-Ma’am I told you to wait downstairs. You can’t just-“The door flung open and there stood the woman from yesterday.
“What the hell!” Teresa cussed, moving off me while pulling the beddings over us.
“So the tabloids were right about you two but that is not why I’m here. As a matter of fact, I could care less about what you two are doing. I’m sorry redhead but I need to talk to your man and I’m not taking no for answer.
“We are just friends,” I answered at the same time with Teresa.
“Yeah, right,” she rolled her eyes,” Don’t keep me waiting Mason,” she said as she walked outside the room, banging the door behind her.
