Maia is amazing. I had no idea that she was both beauty and brains. I liked that a lot, what she said about Ashley. That her choices are hers and hers alone.
It's true isn't it? I can't keep beating myself up over how that turned out. I mean, I might bare a bit of blame for her turning feral, but still, that was almost entirely because of her choices.
And if she felt that I owed her something because of making herself available to me, I realize now that I don't really owe her anything. That may sound harsh but it isn't. Everything she ever did, she did for herself. To further her own agendas. Not for me.
Like the way she used to threaten any she-wolf she saw near me, you can't say that she did that for me, no. She did everything for herself. To further her own motives.
