The scrumptious smell of the chicken porridge and deep fried vegetable spring rolls swirl all over the kitchen and dining area. I munch the yellow rice soup, not minding even if my tongue gets scorch coz its hotness in my stomach revitalizes my muscles and regains my strength back - something that I badly need. After finishing the second bowl, I take one of the rolls and shove it in my mouth. While enjoying its crunch, I notice that both my mother and Chaz are gawking at me with slightly open mouths. “I didn’t have dinner,” I say while chewing the food with a much slower pace this time. Chaz smiles and reaches out for my face then wipes the corner of my mouth with his fingers before cleaning them with a napkin.
