Samantha's pov I opened my eyes slowly and began to regain consciousness but still a little bit dizzy due to the silver on my wrist and wolfsbane in my system. I couldn't reach my wolf, Shiela, she has been trying so hard to fight the barrier but can't. She is a strong wolf. The room in which I was locked appeared to be a sort of abandoned warehouse, the cold concrete floor sending shivers up my spine. As I rose to my feet, I glanced around, searching for any clue that could help me escape. But I can't seem to find an escape route, the room offered no respite, its barren walls adorned only with peeling paint and rusted chains hanging ominously from the ceiling. Summoning my inner strength, I approached a metal door that served as my connection to the outside world. I tried my best to force the door open, only to find it locked tight. ‘ohh No, I need an alternative route’, I Mumbled quietly so no one could hear me. ‘Ohh my, there's a small, grated window near the ceiling’, I can escape through it. Hope flickered within me as I clambered onto a nearby crate, determined to reach the window, and run dearly for my life. With my heart pounding in my chest, I climbed the crate. However, my finger grazed the metal frame of the window, a loud creak echoed through the room, and the door swung open, revealing an angry wolf behind me. “No, what will I do? He will kill me once I get down from the crate.” ‘Come down, what are you trying to do? Trying to escape?’ he Chuckled darkly and moved closer to me. He cupped my chin and said, ‘There’s no escape route dear, you'll soon be mine’. My voice trembling, I asked, “Why have you taken me? What do you want from me?” His voice dripped with menace as he spoke, “You possess something valuable, little wolf”. Something I desire, and we will stop at nothing to claim it. My mind raced, trying to make sense of his cryptic words. What could they possibly want from me? What hidden power or secret did they believe I have? But before I could gather my thoughts, rough hands suddenly seized me, binding my wrists and rendering me powerless once more. Immediately, he injects me with wolfsbane, my vision fades away slowly. The rogue carried me from the room. Struggling against my restraints, I summoned courage and confronted the scarred rogue. "Tell me, who are you? What do you hope to achieve by k********g me?" The rogue sneered, his eyes narrowing with sinister intent. "You ask too many questions, little wolf. Your purpose is of no concern to you. All you need to know is that your destiny is about to take a most...unexpected turn." I passed out… —- As Samantha struggled against the effects of the wolfsbane and silver, darkness enveloped her consciousness once more. When she regained awareness, she found herself in a different room, bound to a chair, her body still weakened from the silver that had rendered her defenseless. Muffled voices echoed around her, and as her vision cleared, Samantha's heart sank. Standing before her was Mandy, Cain's childhood friend and the woman he had chosen over Samantha. A sinister smile played upon Mandy's lips, a cruel glimmer in her eyes. "Well, well, Samantha," Mandy taunted, circling her. "It seems fate has brought us together after all. How does it feel to know that the man you thought was your mate has chosen me instead? I must say, he made the right choice”, She chuckled. Samantha's jaw clenched, fury and pain intertwining within her. "What do you want, Mandy? Why would you kidnap me?" Mandy's smile widened, her voice dripping with venom. "Oh, my dear, I've come to deliver a message. A message from Cain himself. He wants you to know that you're nothing to him, just a discarded toy he no longer has any use for." A surge of anger coursed through Samantha's veins, but she fought to maintain her composure. "If Cain sent you, then why are you working with these rogues? What do they want with me?" Mandy's laughter filled the room, cold and unforgiving. "You're so naive, Samantha. Cain may have rejected you, but that doesn't mean I'll let you go unscathed. These rogues serve a greater purpose. They need you, your unique connection to your wolf, for their twisted plans." Fear flickered in Samantha's eyes. "What plans? What do they want from me?" Mandy leaned in, her voice barely above a whisper. "The rogues have discovered something extraordinary within you. They believe your bond with your wolf holds immense power, power that can tip the scales of this world. And they won't rest until they possess it." Samantha's heart pounded in her chest. She refused to be a pawn in their dangerous game, a means to an end. "I won't let you people use me. I'll fight until my last breath to protect myself and get out of this desert place." Mandy's smile twisted into a wicked grin. "Oh, Samantha, you have no choice. In a few days, the rogue leader will claim you as his mate, marking you with his touch. He sees something in you, something special. And there's no escaping his desire." Samantha's eyes widened in horror, a surge of desperation coursing through her. She couldn't bear the thought of being bound to someone she despised, especially after the heartbreak inflicted by Cain's rejection. "I won't let them mark me!" Samantha declared, her voice filled with determination. Mandy's laughter echoed through the room, chilling Samantha to her core. "We shall see, my dear. The rogue leader has a way of making even the most defiant wolves submit to his will. Resistance will only bring you pain." With those chilling words, Mandy moved towards Samantha, her eyes filled with sadistic delight. Samantha's heart raced, her instincts screaming for her to break free, but her weakened state left her vulnerable. Mandy reached out and traced a finger along Samantha's cheek, a twisted smile on her lips. "You know, Samantha, I always envied you. Your innocence, your purity. But now, I will enjoy stripping that away, piece by piece." Panic surged through Samantha's veins as Mandy's touch turned cruel, her nails digging into Samantha's flesh. Samantha gritted her teeth, refusing to give Mandy the satisfaction of seeing her break. "You think you're so strong," Mandy sneered. "But I will break you, Samantha. I will make you beg for mercy." Samantha's breath quickened as the pain intensified. She closed her eyes, focusing on her inner strength, determined not to let Mandy's torment break her spirit. But just as Samantha braced herself for more torture, a deafening crash reverberated through the hideout. The room trembled, and the sudden chaos drew Mandy's attention away from Samantha. Mandy's eyes narrowed, uncertainty flickering across her face. "What is happening?" A mix of fear and hope surged within Samantha. Was this her chance to escape? She strained against her restraints, fighting against the pain and weakness, desperately searching for an opportunity. Mandy turned back to Samantha, a malicious glint in her eyes. "Don't think for a second that this changes anything, Samantha. The rogue leader will have his way. And when he returns, you will understand the true meaning of suffering." With a chilling laugh, Mandy swiftly exited the room, leaving Samantha alone, her body battered and her spirit tested. The crash had offered a glimmer of hope, but Samantha knew her path to freedom would be treacherous.
