I opened my eyes with a wince as I awoke, stretching and curling my body towards the warmth beside me because I wanted to go back to sleep. Except this warm thing was a little hard, and it threw me off when it pulled me in towards it. That’s when I noticed I was against Gabriel.
Was that… I flustered immediately at the feel of him and his morning wood against me. A part of me felt warmth in a good way, and I panicked as my body started to react. I mean, Gabriel was really handsome, but I just met him.
He murmured some words, and I shrieked, finally thinking clearly while also thinking he might have woken up. I pushed him away immediately and unknowingly pushed myself off the couch in the process. I fell with a loud thud, and I groaned.
He shot up immediately, his eyes still covered with his glasses, and looked at me in worry with a small trail of amusement on his small smirk. “You okay?”
I frowned up at him, still tired and tried to think of something else as I played off my embarrassment.
“I’m perfectly fine, thanks.” I got up slowly, stretching and huffing. “But…” I contemplated saying something before I realized that saying something was a necessity. My embarrassment at falling couldn’t possibly match his with morning wood, “You might wanna take care of that.”
He raised a brow before looking down in horror. He looked up, a huge blush spread across his face before I smirked at him now. He got up in a hurry, speeding away and closing his bedroom door. I got up and winced at the bright sunlight, my eyes still not entirely adjusted. I got out my phone, seeing I only had thirty minutes until school. From here it was probably about a ten minute drive, but I had no clothes. I slowly went and knocked on his bedroom door, and when I listened intently, there were sounds of a shower.
I turned away, not wanting to invade any private time he may have been having.
I scolded myself for being in this situation, walking a healthy distance away and wondered if I should look for Victoria. Surely, she would have some clothes. I took the elevator, and yawned as I pulled my hoodie over my nappy hair. I went back to the sparring room, wondering if maybe she’d be here.
It was empty. I cursed, turning away and bumping into someone. I yelped, and sighed when I saw Nico.
“Nico! Hey.”
“Hey Kim. What are you up to?”
I laughed seeing his very exhausted expression, knowing that school killed us EVERYTIME we had to wake up early.
“So, I obviously spent the night-“
“No doubt getting porked by my brother.”
I shook my head, though a part of me slightly wished for it, “Nope, just reading up on our history. I’m new, remember?”
“Ohhh yeah. I must’ve freaked you out when I pushed you yesterday, huh?”
I shrugged with a smile, “No harm done. But I was wondering if Victoria had any clothes I could borrow?”
“Hah, fat chance she’d give you anything. Plus, she doesn’t wake up this early, so… sorry.” Nico sighed, rubbing his eyes with a shrug.
“Yeah. I’ll just wear these, not that big a deal. But thanks anyhow.” I started to walk away, dreading the thought of school, but glad my black clothes hid blood stains well enough.
“Oh, and before you go, could you tell Gabe if he could give me a ride to school while I get ready? I don’t feel like walking today.”
I nodded, returning to the elevator and pressing the button for Gabe’s floor. The doors opened, and I took off my hoodie with ease as I walked back into his place. I had an undershirt on top, so maybe I shouldn’t risk the fact that my black hoodie mostly hid the blood stains. In the sunlight, most people would see them.
I heard a slight breath hitch, and I turned to see Gabe with only a towel around his waist. His glasses were off now, and I unashamedly stared at this naked body. His torso was still glistening, his muscles and abs very defined. I blinked in surprise.
“You’re going already?”
“Um-um… well…” I stammered, not ready to talk after seeing him in his beautiful glory. Not to mention the way his piercing eyes intensely held my gaze that killed me on the inside… I blinked twice, regaining my brain function. “I have school.”
He smiled, “Oh. Well, I have some clothes you can borrow.”
I was about to protest when he turned and I saw his shoulder blades and the dip of his back as he walked back into his bedroom. And his biceps were oh so juicy too.
He returned, still in his glory, and held out a shirt and some shorts out to me. The shirt was his, but the shorts belonged to a girl. I raised a brow, “Whose are these?”
He thought for a second, before shrugging. “f**k if I know…”
I frowned, rolling my eyes. Not to slut-shame, but because of the way I was just fawning over him. Who was I to drool over him? He had other girls that liked him and treated him with far more experience than I had.
I turned, absentmindedly changing. I heard him move away as I took off my shirt, and mentally cursed when I hadn't thought of his presence. "Alright, well I gotta go-"
"I could give you a ride to school?”
I nodded, looking back at him as he came back into the room with a sheepish smile, “Yeah. Nico wants a ride too, by the way.”
He smiled charmingly as he got away from the wall and turned to change inside his bedroom, leaving the door slightly open.
I stomped over to the couch in determination, sitting down and examining my outfit in better detail. The grey shirt he gave to me was big on me, a simple and soft casual tee that actually looked cute on me. And the shorts were Levi, torn, and barely showed from beneath the hem of the shirt. My legs were shaved, and looked long with boots on my feet. Cute, yet edgy. I let my hair out, then redid the ponytail. I thought for a second, seeing Gabe’s leather journal on the floor. He did say I could read it…
I grabbed it, wrapping it up in its leather bindings and firmly deciding I would read it. The elevator door pinged frightening me, and Nico walked out with a questioning stare.
“What are you still doing here? And in my brother’s-“
“I offered her a ride.” Gabe smirked as he walked out from his room, his body now covered in his signature ‘bad boy’ attire: a V-neck, a leather jacket, boots, black ripped jeans, his necklace, and sunglasses. My hand traveled up to my necklace, suddenly wondering if people would notice we all have matching necklaces. Would they think he was my boyfriend because he gave me a ride to school? I dismissed the thought. They have seen me talking with Nico, so a ride from him and his brother mustn’t be too much of a drastic change.
We pulled into the lot exactly five minutes before the bell. It was flooded with students unlike yesterday, and they all seemed to be focused on how I was getting a ride from Gabriel Romaro. I could hear his name being muttered, as well as mine and Nico’s as we got off the car. I grabbed my bag, which was also another reason we were almost late since we had to stop for it, and started to walk with Nico towards the school.
Gabriel blocked my path, and I glared up at his handsome face. He smiled, “No kiss goodbye for daddy?”
“I’m the daddy here.” I smirked and shoved him aside, and he laughed.
“Hey, so you coming by after school?”
I thought for a second, before ultimately nodding. “After cheer practice, yeah.”
“Ooh, can’t wait to see you in the uniform.” I rolled my eyes at Gabe, and he grinned as he continued, “And make sure to give her my number, Nic.”
Nico rolled his eyes at our banter as we walked away from him, “Just sleep with him already, for f**k’s sake.”
“It’s tempting.”
“Ew.”
“Just kidding.” I laughed. "Even if I wanted to, I wouldn't be good at it.
He looked at me confused, “What do you mean?”
I leaned in, “I’m a virgin.”
He gasped, “You’re kidding. But you’re so hot!”
I shrugged, “I guess. I’ve just moved around so much, I didn’t really ever establish anything…”
“Wow. Have you even had your first kiss?”
I stayed silent, suddenly feeling like I was missing out as we walked inside the building.
“Wow. The tragedy.” He sighed, “We need to get you laid ASAP.”
I shook my head, walking through the halls with him to my first period. “It’s not that simple, I mean, don’t I have to have a connection?”
“And you do.”
“Oh yeah? With who?”
He smirked as we came to a stop in front of my classroom, pointing over to the end of the hall. Monica.
My eyes widened, “Absolutely not! She’s so pretty, and I am-“
He sauntered over to her, and I immediately ran into my classroom. I couldn’t know the outcome, I didn’t wanna see her judgmental eyes when she knew I had an attraction to her. But me being in the classroom didn’t exactly deter me from eavesdropping. I sat down nervously in my seat as I heard his voice now:
‘Hey Monica.’
‘Nicholas…’
‘It’s Nico.’
‘Uh-huh-‘
‘Listen, my friend, the one with orange hair who tried out for the cheer squad-‘
‘You’re friends with her?’
‘Yeah. Anyways, she wanted to talk to you about something important after school ended. Behind the gym bleachers.’
‘And why would I go do that?’
There was silence, and I cursed under my breath.
‘Because you won’t regret it, trust me.’
All day long, Nico teased me about what was to come. Just as school ended, I walked him to the entrance before turning away to go to the bleachers. He called back to me, and I ran over.
“Sorry. But before I forget...” He took out a small, ripped piece of paper and a pen, writing down something on it. “Both my brother’s and my number. Just in case.”
He extended his arm with a smile, and I laughed. “Thanks. See you later?”
“Yep.”
I smiled, walking away as the nerves started to ignite in me. It felt surreal, I didn’t even know what to say when the time came. Yet here I was still, waiting under the bleachers like an i***t. The gymnasium was empty the minute I got here, so when I heard footsteps I tensed up. I peeked out between the bleachers, wondering if there was another scheduled activity.
“Hey.”
I jumped, looking over to see the very beautiful Monica beside me.
“What did you want to talk about?” She seemed bored already, and for a second I lost my confidence. Her body was clad in its cheerleader outfit, and my body stirred in its attraction for her. Then, I remembered that taking a leap of faith was all I could do.
“Well, first of all, I wanted to say sorry about yesterday. You know, the food and then the cheer squad thing. I’m new here, so it was a rough start…” She didn’t look interested at all, and I blushed, staring at the floor as I continued, “But most of all, I wanted to tell you that I think you’re really pretty. And that I really think… well, I don’t know really-“
“You like me.”
I felt paralyzed as she said it out loud. I looked at her, swallowing at her intense gaze. She almost looked confused, as if unsure how I could like her. It was then that I noticed her earring- she was a wolf. No wonder Nico called her a bitch...
I mentally rejoiced that my necklace had been covered by my shirt. If she was a wolf, she would've known I was a vampire the minute she saw it.
She leaned in suddenly, and my eyes widened as her soft hands enveloped my neck, then her lips met mine. I immediately shut them, first studying her movements, then mimicking them immediately. This wasn’t my first kiss, I hadn’t told Nico that, but I still felt as nervous as I did with my first. Except that this time, fire spread throughout my body. I felt her tongue against my lips, and I moaned while kissing her back deeply with tongue as well.
Her teeth bit on my bottom lip, and I panted as she slightly pulled away. She looked up at me with hooded eyes, and smirked when she saw the effect on me. She kissed me again, then her lips travelled downwards towards my jaw as she softly pushed me backwards against the wall. I turned my head upwards, readily allowing her to do what she pleased with me. I was somewhat submissive to her.
Her lips suckled on my neck, and I made a weird mewling sound as she nipped at it. She froze, her hands on my shoulders.
“Monica?”
I heard a small gasp of shock as she pulled away. Her eyes were a bright gold. "You're..."
A growl rumbled in her chest, and my eyes widened as she suddenly dug her teeth into my skin.
