"Good morning your highness" my butler comes into my room, flicking the light switch on and opening the richly patterned light Grey curtains to let natural light into the oppressively dark and warm room.

I was busy on my laptop going through a few emails that had pilled up for me to reply to, before he walked in.

right now,I am smirking about how well this new butler is getting accustomed to my habits especially the fact that I like abundant lightning into my room once I am not sleeping because I consider it a nice start to a new day and it gives me more vibe to do my thing

"Good morning Austin"I reply getting up from my bed to go about my daily routine and he exits the room to give me my privacy

I have a lot to do today, and in as much as I would have loved my secretary to clear out all my schedule for today after instructing her to clear my schedule for the whole week, I can't do that because a lot of investors have traveled down from different parts of the country to meet up with me.

The meeting I have today discuss about the partnership on our latest project about geothermal development and that's not something I can delegate for someone to do in my stead because I need to be there to see which company I want to corporate with and not just allow anyone to lobby for the contract based on the people they know in my company or the connection that they have.

I am very particular about supervising the important decisions concerning the growth of my business because this particular business was not handed over to me as one of the businesses owned by the royal family by virtue of me being the crown prince of this nation, and the next in line to the throne of pearl coast..........I, Aiden Bernard Ferdinand built my own business from the scratch.

Growing up as a prince, I know that a lot of people were and are still against me but they still had to curry favour with me because of the power I have just by being born into the royal family.

I know that a lot of people feel that I am what I am by being born with a silver spoon in my mouth and I don't blame their narrow-mindedness but at the same time, I don't want anyone to look down on me as unworthy or incapable to dispense my duties just because I was running a family business and that I didn't have to sweat on to see it's success

though I am not doing this for anyone, I am doing what I want to do so that I don't have to apologize to my younger self under any circumstance for being less of who I want to be.

I am saying this because my girlfriend always says that I am an egoistic person and am not even disputing that fact.

I know that I am proud but I am not arrogant, I mean.........it's not my fault that I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth, it is a rare privilege, and I don't take it for granted at all.

most people think I didn't have to work for anything in my life, and I have heard that quite a number of times though I just wave it most times because I have gotten used to hearing such things being said behind my back.

what most people fail to understand is that it’s not enough to just have the golden spoon in one's mouth, it depends on the individual goal to be able to use the great opportunity that such a person is given to the fullest without taking it for granted.

not to brag, but I am naturally above those saying things behind my back in all ramifications, so their opinion about me doesn't matter as far as I can carry out my duties to my citizens, nation, and myself.

it will interest the citizens of pearl coast to know that one of the leading and innovative businesses admired by all is owned by me, I am just keeping calm till the day I will come out to the general public to see the shock on all their faces.

Back to the issue at hand of me having a lot to do, I have series of meetings lined up concerning the upcoming project, but before doing anything this morning, the first thing on my itinerary is speaking to my girlfriend.

If I don't speak to Audrey now, my program may eventually get jam-packed making it difficult for me to squeeze out time to put a call through to her and even if I manage to do so, I may not be able to spend as much time talking to her over the phone as she would have loved to and that will result in another

"you don't spend enough time with me as you usually do"

I don't think I am ready to get myself into any web of misunderstanding or argument right now, even if I want to I don't have that luxury of time at my disposal so it's better to put the call through now.

You know how ladies are, once you don't call them when you are supposed to, they will start piling your sins for you........in fact, they have tones of broken-hearted quotes kept on their phones, waiting to be released at the slightest slip-up.

I think women are confusing species, they can be nice at one moment and vicious the next moment.........they think with their hearts instead of their head so when I say that having a girlfriend is a really big deal for a principled man like me because I am not only responsible for myself, business, and nation, I am also responsible for her.

"Good morning beautiful" I greeted my girlfriend, Audrey over the phone with a smile

"Good morning handsome.....how was your night" she inquires in her beautiful voice

"It was nice but I couldn't stop thinking about you...I miss you so much"I say whining

"Worry no more my prince for thou shall soon be reunited with thy beloved," she says as if she was reciting a line from a play and I chuckle

"Should I pick you up at your apartment so that I can drop you off at the villa for the selection process?"I ask but in reality, I am waiting for her to say yes without thinking twice about it

"No, don't worry about it.....I know you are a very busy man and I really won't like to add to your stress "she says after hesitating for a while

"Don't think of it as you bothering me, I am clearing out my schedule for the week with permission from the Queen to attend the selection process incognito assuming the position of one of the officials for the process"I inform her, and what I am expecting is for her to start screaming in excitement but she disappoints me

"If you drop me off, no matter how discreetly you do it people will still find out and it will be evident to everyone that I am with you and they will get disappointed knowing that the selection process won't be fair" she explains

"Oh" I answered feeling disappointed at the lack of enthusiasm in her voice concerning the 'big news' I just gave her

"Don't sound so disappointed okay???........ it's not like I don't want to spend time with you, but we have to deal with things with a more careful approach"

"once we get through the selection process without any hitch, we have the rest of our lives ahead of us to spend together" she Explains

"Hmm" I sighed

"You know what? I will make it up to you by cooking your best food and keeping it for you in your suite as a bribe" she says and I can picture her wriggling her brows

my eyes immediately stray to the framed picture in front of me, it is that of an Italian food that Audrey made for me on our first anniversary.

wasn't able to meet up with her on that day due to my busy schedule so she snapped it, framed it, and had it sent to me as a memento

"That's more like it"I reply chuckling

"sweetheart, I need to get ready to go to the villa now...... I will talk to you later"she informs me

"love you" she says biding me farewell

"Love you too"I answer before hanging up the phone.

After hanging up, I notice my four in one walking in clad in his usual black tuxedo and acoustic earpiece in his ear.

my four in one is Liam and I call him that because he is my bodyguard, personal assistant, confidant, and sometimes my driver if I need privacy all in one person because I am so comfortable with him......... he is the only person that I can trust with my life.

"I came to inform you that we have a meeting to attend in the next two hours"Liam informs before his phone starts to rings and he waves the phone in the air before bowing slightly and stepping out of the room to pick the call.

With that notice, I start getting ready because one thing I despise is attending any of my meetings late

I am a principled person and I lead by example, so I don't tolerate lateness no matter who it is in as much as I, a first-class citizen of this country is always prompt, you dare not appear before me late.

if I am to attend a meeting in the next two hours, I prefer leaving my house an hour to the time to prevent unforeseen circumstances that will lead to me giving excuses for my actions, and that is the same level of professionalism that I expect from my employees though though to the best of their understanding........ I am being harsh but I don't care about what they think

I decided to wear a maroon jacket over the midnight black shirt hugging my muscled chest with a maroon-colored tie around my neck before I start making my way out of the room

this outfit is from one of my favorite collections, the Lucifer's collection and I fell in love with the details the designer of the dress adds to his suit and before I knew it, it became my favourite .

on my way out of the room, just before gripping the Louis Vuitton-styled door, I saw the doorknob tilting and I moved back a bit to see who it was at the door when I saw a Liam walk in with a straight face.

"We have a situation" he spoke with all seriousness

well, most times Liam is almost serious but his speaking will all seriousness saying we have a situation means we really have a situation and it's most likely something I won't like.

"you know what?? I am on my way to breakfast so let's have this discussion once we are done eating breakfast" I said raising my hand in the air to prevent him from further saying anything

breakfast is the most important meal of the day for me so matter what, I make sure that I have my breakfast before leaving my house because there's just something about a hearty breakfast, that sets my day off in the right direction. Maybe it's the fact that I don't have time to sit down for meals apart from my late-night dinner, except on the weekends or special occasions

from Liam's countenance, I could tell that the news he was about to dump on me may either make me angry or leave the house without having breakfast, that is why I won't allow him to say anything.

I make my way out of the room with Liam trotting behind me trying to talk to me without allowing him to do so. the more he tried to talk to me, the more the urgency of the situation almost tempted me to give in.

"I dare you to ruin my breakfast and deal with the consequences of your action"I turn back abruptly when I have had enough in the middle of the dimly lit hallway and threatened, also glaring at him for more intensity before he finally gave up.

this dining room of mine is rooted in sleek sophistication. Overhead, an Italian chandelier crafted from Murano glass anchors the center of the room, where a solid yet sleek dining table stands grandly with an array of western breakfast beautifully displayed on it. I pull out the Navy blue upholstery with silver trellis design on the chair and sat comfortably to enjoy my breakfast.

I pass the Bagel sliced into the half with cream cheese topped with sea same/ sunflower seeds in front of me to Liam because he loves it while I settle down to enjoy my breakfast burritos.

My cook Hannah makes use of breakfast staples, like scrambled eggs, ham, cheese, sausage, bacon, and hash browns, alternating it with many other potential ingredients every time to give a different savory taste that I can't seem to get enough of.

I get tired of eating the same thing over and over again and I guess she knows how much I love my burritos since she has been taking care of my tummy since I was ten, it was at that time that she just newly made her way to the palace as a cook.

She knows all my likes and dislikes including that of my best friend here and she always makes sure to lay an array of mouthwatering dishes on the table every

growing up, Fruit smoothies was something that my cook used to trick me into having fruit to keeping a healthy body, and now even though I am a grown man, I still love my fruit smoothies early in the morning............ it either fruit smoothies or breakfast parfait for me, and Liam used to tease me so much about my breakfast looking all girly.

After enjoying my breakfast, I damp my mouth with the serviette before leaving the breakfast nook to wait for Liam in the lounge and it doesn't take time for him to join me

"Now shoot, "I say ready to listen to what he has to say

"I told your secretary to clear out your schedule for this week as you ordered and she almost cleared out everything but couldn't clear out the meeting with kings corporation, one of the investors for the project of Energy Efficient cars" he informs me

"Is that not the project that will be the highlight of all projects this year??"I ask Liam to be double sure and he nods in agreement

"Mr. Brian kings already traveled down from Myrtle circle with his secretary for the meeting, and as at the time your secretary put a call through to them they were already in pearl coast" he explained

"Why didn't she send the message Immediately, that's why I always buttress efficiency at work" I lamented

"You didn't give the instruction immediately, more so she had lots of meetings to cancel, "Liam says in a smug tone

"Let's be on our way to the office, call the chauffeur to drop us while you prepare the files for the other meeting so that I can get familiar with the updates on our research teamwork" I instruct, and Liam consents
