Chapter 4It took two nights before I was able to get my hands on Lee Ellis. In the interim, I decided that using the vacant house where I’d disposed of Cox would not be my smartest move. I’d been careful when I’d moved him from my car to the house, but there was always the off-chance that some nosy neighbor might have seen something that piqued their curiosity. If they investigated, they’d find bloodstains on the basement floor, which would mean a call to 911. It wasn’t worth taking the chance. I wouldn’t grab Ellis at Duffer’s. It would be tempting fate to think that some regular, or one of the bartenders, wouldn’t remember that I’d been there the night Cox vanished.
