Chapter 5

Third P.O.V

As the sky cries, Luna continues to fight while waiting for someone to help her.

She was panting because of the exhaustion of avoiding the Vodyanoy's attack— she was very afraid of being injured even if it was hit.

"Just give up!!" He screamed so she immediately attacked, to say that she will never give up.

She dodged so quickly when he tried to hit her with his baseball bat.

She never thought that this was what she would face tonight. If she had known from the very start that she would face a human monster— she would probably back off immediately.

She was very tired of fighting back after another... She didn't know how long she would last. He was too strong— and even her three years of combat training wouldn't work here.

"If I just had the courage to kill, I will. But I can't — I don't want to commit any more sin" she thought.

Gunshots rang out, and She was unable to blink at the speed of the incident. She took a step back when she saw Vodyanoy's body lying on the road and Jae appeared behind it holding a gun.

"You should have shot him earlier, Luna!!" Jae shouted at her but before he could get close to her, the Vodyanoy got up again... And at that time, it completely showed its true form.

He's more than doubled in size, his skin became wrinkled as if it was soaked in water, and his appearance was similar to a frog. Its eyes are big— and it has a large mouth like a frog.

She covered her ears when the Vodyanoy suddenly screamed in anger. And in just a blink of an eye, Jae's body fell to the cold floor of the road. Its blood spread and mixed with the rainwater.

"Jae!!" As Luna screamed full of grief, the whole area suddenly lit up, as bright as the sun, and could blind any mortal who caught sight of it at that moment.

Maybe because of the fear that the Vodyanoy felt and the wonder of the inexplicable scene, he suddenly left.

That light comes from Luna. In her anger, she could no longer control her emotion— the power that came from the flame that he was holding came out... It was from the twin flame of the phoenix.

Luna's P.O.V

As I live this way, I am forced to fight to escape the curse that has been attached to my soul since before I was born.

I don't want to be like this, constantly running into danger and now slowly losing my way.

"How long will I endure this pain, before we are destined to meet? How long will I suffer in this life? Mara?" I said while kneeling under the tree where my twin lost her life.

"I just lost my best friend, his death was unjustified. What kind of person am I!? Or can I really be called a person? Why do they want me so badly? What was the life we had back then?" I pour out the grief and sadness I feel under that tree. Because every time I'm there, I feel like I'm talking to my sister. Even though it was dark I couldn't stand up, I didn't have the strength to move where I was standing.

"Why are all the people I come close, die? Because of me! Because I'm a plague? There's nothing left of me! They took you all from me!— I can't handle it if Raven is also gone" she uttered painfully "I would rather die than be left alone while my conscience haunts me for the loss of all of you!."

I immediately stood up when my hand suddenly trembled. This is a sign that there is danger around again.

"Sister?" I turned around when someone called me.

"Raven?! What are you doing here?" I asked her and I immediately felt fear for my sister's safety "You have to leave without me!! Run!!" I screamed while my left hand shook even more, a sign that danger was getting closer. The reincarnated human monster is coming to kill me!... To kill us.

"Ate Luna, I can't be with Papa's family anymore. Please, I can't wait any longer!!" said Raven.

I became more alert as I felt a heavy presence. It's dangerous if Raven doesn't leave immediately.

"They are here!! We have to run— you have to run without me!!" I grabbed Raven by the arm to lead her away from that place, but suddenly she grabbed her head and cried out in pain.

"Raven? Are you okay?? Hurry up!! We have to leave!" I begged her, she was in that position for several minutes and was unable to stand up.

I immediately took the knife from the bag I was carrying and looked around.

"You lead them to us," Raven suddenly said.

"You're the reason why they got killed... all of them!"

I was stunned to hear Raven's words. "Raven, what are you talking about?"

"I accidentally saw everything when you grabbed me, so don't pretend that you don't know what I mean," Raven added.

"This is not the right time to talk, we have to run" I was about to touch her but she refused.

"Don't touch me" There was bitterness in Raven's voice.

I couldn't bear to hear it from her, I didn't expect it to hurt this much.... but she was right, it was all my fault, I didn't tell her because I knew she would be hurt... and I would be hurt if she hated me ... I can't lose her, she's all I have.

"I'll explain everything later, we have to leave Raven!!" I cried out in plea. My hand never stopped shaking, at any moment they could track us down... or maybe they're just around and waiting, waiting for an opportunity to take our lives.

"Raven!!!" I shouted with authority "Please! Do as I say!!!."
