Chapter 3

Summer was over and Delilah finally felt relief as she stepped onto the grounds of the school . In high school , she found a safe place - the library , and the best part ? No one ever sees her , it is like she is invisible and she loves it . Delilah was sitting in the library , her hair braided and loose strands of hair falling beside her face , it was wavy and like curtains to hide behind . She had on a emerald green sweater with white skinny jeans with black ankle boots , she read a book in lunch break , like she always does when a book on the shelf next to her fell , her eyes grew wide as she looked at it and from where it fell , but there was no one on the other side , well that is what she thought since she did not see Seth , lurking between the bookshelf’s throughout the whole library . Since Seth found her hiding spot , he would come see her in break time , making sure she is at school like she says she is . Delilah quickly shook away the awkward cold feeling and packed up her things as she saw break time was almost over .

The bell rang and she walked into her second last period of the day , both Math periods , double as fun ! Delilah sat down at the back , as she did not like sitting between people , she sat in the back corner , looking over everyone but seen by none . The class became fuller and fuller and there were no seats open except next to her . “ Good morning class . ” The teacher said , her hair short , just as short as her almost .

She was dressed neatly and her power ? You could feel it radiate off of her - I swear . “ Before we start , I am going to introduce myself … ” , Delilah’s eyes flick to the door as she felt the energy shift as he walked into the room , “ I’m sorry I’m late teach . ” Seth said arrogantly . Delilah’s eyes rolled to the back of her head automatically as her eyes landed on him , he stalked into the class , acting like he is owning it as he walked up to the nerd looking guy in front , “ Scoot . ” He snapped and then a loud noise boomed through the room , Seth’s head snaps to the teacher and she slowly stood up , not looking very much taller , “ You shall not talk to my students like that young man , go sit at the only empty damn seat in the back or get the hell out of my class room ! ” She bellows and Seth’s eyes grew wide as he lazily walks towards the back , towards Delilah . Delilah sat up straight and let her hair fall next to her face , hiding behind it as she looked forward , hoping that he would not recognise her , not right now . Meanwhile as Seth walked into that class room , he saw her , leaning into the wall as she watched everyone , and that’s why he wanted to sit in front in Math’s because he knew , very deep down inside of him , he would be distracted by her presence that is so close , but then he found himself next to her , centimetres apart .

“ You can’t always hide . ” Seth whispered to Delilah and she froze , her head slightly looking down at the desk . “ Why don’t you talk to me ? ” He asks , smirk plastered on his cold face . Delilah turned her head and looked at him dead in the eyes , she wanted to gasp as she looks at his icy blue eyes , the sun shining right into his orbs . On the other hand , Seth felt like his breath was knocked out of his chest as his eyes lock with her green ones , there were mountains in them , forests filled with oxygen , oxygen that he craved . “ This isn’t even your grade . ” She whispered and he smirked , “ Well look how smart you are , well she doesn’t know that since she is new . ” Seth whispered back as he points towards the teacher in front , “ You can blab , but it will just make things worse at home , useless . I am skipping class and I want to be here . ” He whispered as he glared down at Delilah . Delilah bit down on her teeth as she wished to just yell and scream , being this close to him was making her feel paranoid and she did not like the feeling . His icy blue eyes reminded him of his b***h of a mother’s and man w***e of a brother , correction - half brother .

In the middle of the class , Delilah could not handle it anymore and she raised her hand , Seth gave her a warning look , glaring at the side of her head as she just looked forward . “ Yes ? ” The teacher looked at Delilah , “ May I please be excused ? I don’t feel well . ” Delilah told the teacher . “ Sure , do you know where the nurse’s office are ? ” She asked Delilah and Delilah nodded her head up and down as she casually picked up her things and scooted past Seth , she walked out of the classroom and Seth’s chest made a sharp sting as she disappeared from his sight . He stood up and grabbed his empty back pack , he was smart , but he didn’t use books as he remembered everything . “ Where do you think you are going ? ” the teacher asked . “ To my actual damn class . ” Seth snapped and walked out of the room , slamming the door shut behind him as he left . He walked out of the class and turned his head left to right , looking down the hallways for any sign of her and as he looked left , he saw the bathroom door swing shut . ‘ Bingo . ’ he thought as walked towards the ladies bathroom . He did not even look left to right before entering the bathroom , “ Are you in here , useless ? ” Seth asks as he walks past the stall doors , glancing underneath the doors and he found her feet in the last stall . “ Come on . ” He knocked , but she didn’t answer . He sighed as he plopped down his bag and climbed onto the door , and over it .

“ What the hell are you doing ? ” She shrieks and he smirked , “ You didn’t answer , I thought you might be bleeding out here . ” He shrugged as he stood in front of her . Delilah was sitting on the closed toilet , her eyes teary , “ Why did you leave class ? ” He asks her , Delilah sighed , “ Why did you follow me ? ” She asks and his eyebrows shoot up , “ When did you become cocky , with me ? ” He asks Delilah as he lifts her chin up with his finger . She glared up at him and he smirked , “ Come on , answer me , useless . ” He teases and she suddenly burst out in tears . Seth’s face fell in defeat as she bent over and cried , he did not know what the hell to do .
