Wedding Day
Judge - You may now kiss the bride. Everyone stood up and applauded the newlyweds as Alex moves closer to Reena to Kiss her.                 Reena - Its official we’re married now She said sarcastically.                 Alex - Indeed we are. Alex pulled her closer by the waist for the picture taking with the judge. (The wedding planner started calling all the guest to fall in line in groups for the pictures with the newlyweds. The Grooms family was first called.)                 Hazel - Welcome to the family Hija.                 Andrea - Finally, may ate na ako. She excitedly said to Reena. While Alex's father was quiet as usual. Wedding planner - The bride’s family po join them. (Reena's dad smile was through the roof. He was excited as well as happy for Reena.)                 Christopher - Alex! He said while shaking Alex's hand.                 Alex - Sir.                 Christopher - Call me Dad. We're family now. (Alex Just smiled as Reena was standing beside the groom’s family and Alex was on the other side with her family. Then the groom’s family was asked to head to the banquet hall)                 Reena - Are you really that happy Dad? She asked her dad.                 Cyd - Reena smile it’s your wedding day.                 Patrice - Darling your kuya is right. Smile for the camera. (The friends of the bride were asked next)                 Amara - Congrats Reena, Alex. Who knew you two would get married to each other right? You guys really shocked as with the news.                 Alex - Who knew right?                 Reena - Amara I didn’t know you were even invited. (Alex smirked. As she was equally not happy to see Amara there.)                 Amara - I'll see you guys at the reception. (The friends of the groom were next)                 Peter - Congrats Reena, Alex! He patted Alex on the shoulder.                 Alex - Thanks for coming Bro!                 Auntie Ellen - Hija what a wonderful dress. Let me guess Christina Wu?                 Reena - No Auntie its Cary Santiago's                 Auntie Ellen - Very impressive Hija, I'll have your cousin look into his portfolio. (After all the pictures taken Reena and Alex headed the banquet hall. The guest was all seated and waiting for them. The caterer started handing out drinks and appetizer platters in each table.) Reena wants to sit so badly. She should have worn comfy shoes if she knew she'd be standing up for too long. (The event organizers closed the doors to the banquet hall before the newlyweds for their grand entrance.)                 Alex - You okay?                 Reena - My feet are killing me. How long will this take?                 Alex - Roughly 3 more hours of kissing asses and smiling.                 Reena - Remind me not to get married anymore.                 Host - Ladies and Gentlemen, The Groom and The Bride (The doors opened. Alex held Reena's hand and they went in)     ------------------------- BANQUET HALL -------------------------- (The Host started the program and greeted all the guest and asking them to stand up as the Bride and Groom are about to enter the room. The guest all stood up and applauded while Reena and Alex walks at the center of the crowd. When they were seated on the stage the Host then called the father of the bride and the mother of the groom for the dance. The music started to play. Reena danced with her dad, while Alex with his mom.)                 Christopher – Are you happy? Or you’re just showing that you are.                 Reena – I’m happy if you and mom are happy dad. You know me.                 Christopher – I hope I didn’t push too much this time.                 Reena – No dad. Alex is a good choice for a husband. He is so perfect in many ways.                 Christopher – Do you like him already?                 Reena – I barely got to know him yet. We’ve just been reintroduced recently and the only time I got to spend with him are for wedding preparations only. So, can’t really tell for now.                 Christopher – Hopefully after the honeymoon you’ll know him better. Honey, a word of advice from an old geezer like me. Don’t take being married as a task. I know we pushed for an arrange marriage but the moment I met Alex I knew he was right for you. He would love you if you’ll let him.                 Reena – Noted on that dad. We’ll see after the honeymoon.                 Christopher – Don’t take too long Hun, dad wants to play with my grandkids.                 Reena – Geez dad too soon! I’m going to be a lawyer first then we’ll talk grandkids. (Alex was dancing with his mom)                 Alex – Are you okay mom?                 Hazel – Oh baby you’re all grown up. Taking care of the family business now getting married. You’ve matured too soon. I just wished you enjoyed your youth much more.                 Alex – I am enjoying my youth mom. And I’m going to enjoy it with Reena.                 Hazel – That wife of yours is very well spoken and good at what she’s doing. I hope you both have time for each other to enjoy.                 Alex – We will find time for everything mom. We’ll make this work. I’m going to make this work.                 Hazel – You really like her, don’t you?                 Alex – You’re the only one who caught my true intensions mom. They only saw this marriage as a business move. They didn’t see the true intensions I had.                 Hazel – I can see right through you Alex. I know you well son. You’ve always liked her; I just wish she sees that too.                 Alex – If she can’t see it then she’s blind mom. But even if she doesn’t see it, I will make her see it.                 Hazel – You’ve grown too fast. Slowdown and take a breather if you need to okay? Dad, can still work focus on her if you need to.                 Alex – Thanks mom. (The song ended. They stopped dancing. The Host now called the bride and the groom to the center for their first dance as husband and wife. Reena and Alex started dancing.)                 Alex – So what did you and your dad talked about?                 Reena – Why do you care?                 Alex – Coz’ technically I’m your husband now and I have a right to know.                 Reena – Technically it is still up to me if I would tell you what I talked to my dad about. (Alex shut up and did not ask anymore. They danced and when the song ended, they stopped and head for the next part of the program. The Host called the bride and the groom to the stage as it was time to cut the cake. Alex and Reena were given a knife to cut the cake. They both held the cake knife and sliced the cake. Then Reena got the cake server and place the slice in a plate. The Host handed them each a dessert fork. Alex got a small piece and fed it to Reena. Reena on the other got a slightly bigger slice and fed it to Alex.) Alex heard some giggles from the guest. (Next was the campaign toast the waiter brought in 2 champaign glasses and a bottle of champaign. The waiter filled both the glasses with about half an inch of champaign. Alex got the glasses and gave one to Reena. They crossed arms and drank the champaign. One of the guests started clinking his glass and the rest of the guest followed. So, the Host asked Reena and Alex to give what the guests are asking. Alex gave Reena a small peck on the lips. The Host joked that the bride and groom must be conservative because they kissed like kids. Now the Host is asking for a matured kiss. So, Alex made the first move and gave Reena a kiss with some tongue. And the guest cheered for them. Alex and Reena are now seated at their table the Host then said a little prayer, soon after the waiters brought in the food. The wedding AVP started playing pictures of Reena growing up were first shown as the guest enjoy the food. Then Alex’s pictures were next. Then their pre-nuptial pictures along with their pictures during the wedding prep. Then a quick snippet of their wedding vows was played. The band played music while the guest finished eating. Reena and Alex didn’t have a best man or a maid of honor as they only wanted a civil wedding but their closest friends set up a small toast for them that they were unaware of.)                 Host – May I call on Miss Casseylyn Liao to the stage please. (Cass stood up and went to the front with her wine glass about to make a speech.)                 Cass – Good Afternoon ladies and gentlemen, Reena, Alex. So, a little disclaimer before I begin, Reena doesn’t know about this I asked her EA to keep this a secret. So, for those of you who don’t know. I’m Reena’s best friend. We’ve been friends since primary school. Yes, I was Alex’s classmate too, actually the 3 of us were classmates since primary school. Uhmm Kyle the slides please. This is Catarina Assuncion, for those of you who don’t know her yet her real nickname is Cat-Cat, but she changed it when we were in high school coz’ it’s to childish daw hence, she is now called Reena. Sorry for outing you Reena!                 Alex – Cat-Cat that brings back so much memory. He whispered to Reena.                 Cass – So si Cat-cat is very shy back then, she doesn’t like being in the limelight so she never got any honors during primary and secondary she’s happy when her average didn’t make it to the top 10 of the class. I didn’t get it before but later on I understood her naman di ba Cat? Next slide please.                 Reena – CASS! Reena mouthed.                 Cass – Reena, never dated anyone while we were in college, she had suitors but she never really let them court her. I know she had a major crush on someone, but its not Alex okay let’s not get our hopes up. She was busy with her studies that every semester she was on the dean’s list and she graduated with Latin Honors.                 Reena – No!!! Reena mouthed again.                 Cass – This is when I asked her why she didn’t get any award during primary and secondary but she’s smart naman. So, Reena answered she didn’t like the pressure of being in the top and losing it so she opted to lay-low back then. Next slide please. Reena covered her face.                 Cass – I like this picture of her. So, this picture was taken during her grad party, first time ever that she got drunk. This is when she realized that she couldn’t hold her liquor well. Reena doesn’t drink po kasi. Alex Reena is quirky when she’s drunk, so don’t give her any tequila okay? Next slide please.                 Alex – Noted Cass! Alex shouted. Then he smiled while facing Reena. Reena pushed Alex’s teasing face away. (A picture of Reena was shown during her stay in the US. It was a photo taken by Jet, her ex.)                 Alex – You look good there. Where was that taken?                 Reena – San Francisco.                 Cass – Okay this photo was when she was in the US studying for her masters. I have never seen her this happy in a picture. If you follow her i********: you’d notice that she doesn’t post her pictures coz she doesn’t like her picture being taken she’s more of a photographer than a model. So, it’s a rare occasion that you her in pictures. Hopefully we’ll get to see more of her now that she’s with Alex. Next please. (Cass played Reena’s video reaction when she got into the UP-law program.)                 Cass – Okay this video was the day she passed the LAE. She was already doubting that she did not make the cut. Then when I checked she passed then she started crying. Hence the puffy eyes. Next. (Cass showed a picture of the night Reena announced she was getting married. They were hanging out in Reena’s house.)                 Cass – This was when she told me that she was getting married. I was so shocked coz I didn’t know she was dating someone. You know what Cat-Cat I’m kinda pissed actually coz I thought I was gonna get married first, because you know I’m more out there than you were. But girl when you told me that you’re going to marry Alex. I supported you all the way and I was very happy for you. Alex was watching Reena’s reaction.                 Cass – And for those that didn’t know, we knew Alex had a crush on you in primary school and how you avoided him for all those years. Maybe you had a crush on him too. Ooops. Okay shut up na ko.                 Alex – Seriously? Avoided me? You knew all this time?                 Reena – Shhhhh.                 Cass – I know you have things that you don’t tell me but I somehow know that whatever you keep to yourself is what you value most in your life. So, to you Alex Congrats! You got your girl please be good to her don’t make her cry. Cat-Cat even if your married now I will always be here for you. I will nag you as always. I only wish for you two to be happy, always be happy. (Reena was teary-eyed after Cass’s speech. Alex noticed it and gave her a hanky. Everyone applauded after Cass’s speech. Cass approached the newlyweds.)                 Cass – Ladies and gentlemen, a toast for my best friend that left me at the singles table, may you and Alex have plenty of kids for me to spoil. I can’t wait for cute babies.                 Guest – Oh my god are you guys pregnant? Someone from the guests shouted.                 Cass – Let me answer for you Reena. No, they are not yet pregnant. Hopefully soon right ladies and gentlemen? (The guests all laughed and clapped their hands as they raised their glasses for the toast. Reena and Alex stood up and joined the toast.)                 Host – Now may we call on the parents of the groom. (Alex’s mom and dad went to the stage. The Host handed them the mic.)                 Hazel – Hello everyone, first of all we would like to thank everyone that took the time to spend this afternoon with us. Friends and relatives, we are ecstatic to have a new addition to our family Reena Hija, welcome to the family. I wish you both happiness and contentment, enjoy your life as newlyweds don’t rush on giving us our first apo okay? You are both still young enjoy one another first. Again, thank you all for coming. (Alex and Reena stood up and went to his parents and gave their courtesies.)                 Host – Now may we call on the parents of the bride. (Reena’s dad was the one that was going to talk.)                 Christopher – Good afternoon everyone as my kumare and kumpare already said we would like to thank you all for coming. We wish for Reena and Alex the best life they could ever have. We would like to bless their marriage with a gift. Cyd! (Cyd brought an envelope and handed it to his dad. Reena and Alex were still standing up beside them.)                 Christopher – This gift is from me and mom, use it to however you seem fit. Your mom and I are so happy for the both you and if ever you both need anything don’t hesitate. We are always here okay our door is always open. Alex, you approached me with quite some nerve when you asked to marry my daughter but you really did sell your pitch you are a good man and I know your intensions are subjective and pure. I can see right through it and I could not ask for a better person for my daughter. (Reena and Alex went to her parents to give them courtesy and to thank them for the gift. Alex shakes hands with Reena’s dad.)                 Alex – Sir.                 Christopher – Alex call me Dad son.                 Alex – Yes Sir! Dad pala. (Reena’s parents went back to their seats while the newlyweds were given a sofa in the center.)                 Host – Wow! I wish to be your son po sir! The Host joked.                 Christopher – I already have 2 sons. He replied jokingly.                 Host – Mag-apply nalang po akong anak sa labas Sir. He joked again trying to break the seriousness in the aura of the guest.                 Christopher – You should ask my wife. He laughingly replied.                 Host – Joke lang po Ma’am. Okay let’s get this program rolling. Can all the single ladies there please go to the middle of the dance floor and we will have a small game. Ma’am Reena may I borrow your bouquet. Reena handed the bouquet to the Host.                 Host – Okay ladies so instead of the traditional bouquet toss we are going to play a game. Siguro naman nakapaglaro kayo ng hot potato nung bata kayo ano? So this time you will pass the bouquet around and when the music stops the person that is holding the bouquet is out. Okay so the last woman standing that is not holding the bouquet wins. Gets ba? The ladies replied yes.                 Host – Okay DJ music. (The ladies pass the bouquet hurriedly and then the music stopped and one was illuminated. One by one the ladies lost their chance for the bouquet and then there were 2 fighting for the bouquet. The last two standing was Jen and Amara.)                 Host – Ok DJ something slow that eventually goes fast beat please for the two ladies here. (The DJ played the requested song and when the music stopped Amara was holding the bouquet.)                 Host – Okay Miss?                 Amara – Amara.                 Host – You may now take your seat. Okay guys Miss Amara didn’t win. You may still date her and she’s not yet rushing to get married. The host jokingly said.                 Amara – Please do. She joined hosts’ joke.                 Host – Okay Miss?                 Jen – Jen.                 Host – Okay miss Jen kindly go to the side of the dance floor as the guys have their turn. Okay Sir Alex, can you get the garter now. (Alex stood up and fix his suit and kneeled on one knee to get the garter on Reena’s thighs. The DJ played slow music while he removes the garter.)                 Host – Okay sir, hold on to that for a while. Now gentlemen, those single guys there come to the dance floor and who among you guys will be the lucky partner of Miss Jen here. Okay while we wait for them lets interview miss Jen. Hi, Miss Jen you are a friend of the?                 Jen – Bride.                 Host – Okay so you’re a marketing specialist too?                 Jen – No, were classmates in Law school.                 Host – Wow, future lawyer pala si miss Jen. Okay we have enough guys here, I think. Okay Sir Alex, so earlier the ladies played hot potato this time you will toss the garter and whoever catches it will be miss Jen’s Partner. Wait miss Jen, do you have a date? Boyfriend in the crowd?                 Jen – No and no.                 Host – Okay Sir, single na single si miss Jen. Sir, Alex ready?                 Alex – Yup.                 Host – Okay DJ some suspenseful music please. (The DJ played some suspenseful music as Jokingly attempted to throw the garter.)                 Host – Trial lang guys. Sir, please do the honors. (Alex threw the garter in the air and one of the guys caught it, started jumping.)                 Host – Okay we have a winner. Your name Sir?                 Robbi – Robbi                 Guest – Go Robbi!! Someone from the guests shouted.                 Host – Okay Sir Robbi are you familiar with what you’re going to do with the garter.                 Robbi – Yeah, I’ve seen it done a few times already.                 Host – By the way sir may I ask your friend of the bride or groom?                 Robbi – Cousin of the Bride.                 Host – Wow pinsan. Ehem Sir Christopher, nagpapaampon parin po ako. Kidding aside. May I ask what do you do Sir Robbi?                 Robbi – Venture Capitalist.                 Host – Wow big time pala si Sir Robbi. Okay Miss Jen please take a seat here. Sir Robbi you may now put the garter on miss Jens legs. Wala pong malisya dito mam sers. It is up to you if you put malice into it. Robbi placed the garter on Jens legs. Then they were asked to go back to their seats.                 Host – Okay now a message from the Bride and Groom. (The host gave Alex and Reena microphones. Reena has prepared the speech and Alex will say the half of it and the other half will be Reena’s.) Alex checks his watch. It’s already 7pm.                 Alex – Good evening everyone, we would like to thank each and everyone of you who came to celebrate this amazing day with us. To our parents thank you for all your support and advices. To our principal sponsors thank you for agreeing to be part of our wedding.
