Chapter 21: Breakfast at Lucky's

4991 Words
Lucky kicked and hit Dorran’s stomach and back all the way to her room. Her snarls sounded through the halls, frightening the omegas into scurrying out of the way. He did not stop or feel the pain she was putting on his body. He just kept running with a tightened look on his face all the way to her bathroom, where he set her down gently in the shower stall. That was when she punched him in the nose, and he, in return, grabbed her wrists and spun her around. He used his body to hold her in place and turned on the cold water. The minute it hit her she stiffened her body and cried out her rage and jolted her into reality. The anger and betrayal that had sent her spiraling out of control was nearly vanquished from her mind, letting her realize that she had fought Andrew. “Are you calm now?” Dorran growled softly in her ear. Her thighs clamped together feeling the vibrations of his voice through her body. It made it hard to answer him, but she managed to nod her head slowly before he whipped her around to face him. Dorran was angry with his nose snarled, and his eyes red, showing that his wolf had surfaced with it. A tremor rippled through her body, and she could not tell if it was fear or pleasure at that point. Her mind screamed that he was going to kill, while her core began to thump, again, wanting his pleasure. She could feel the ache go all the way to her lower stomach, but her instincts said to caress his face. She would if he did not have her wrists pinned above her head. Lucky felt like a confusing mess that made her eyes soften as she looked into his eyes. She saw it, then- the pain. It lingered there, showing that he was concerned and hurt by her. It made her stall for a moment as she pondered what could make him look this way. She assumed it was about his brother, since she was kicking his butt in their spar/s***h/fight. Or did he really feel hurt by her trying to beat the crap out of him? He made it clear, didn’t he? He does not want her because she was supposedly a gold digger. “What happened, Lucky?” Dorran asked with a demanding tone, but she heard the plea in his voice. “Why did you lose control?” “You…” She breathed out the words, finding a clog in her throat that did not want her to confess the truth. She could feel her humiliation creep along her cheeks turning them rosy. She thought about why she had begun to fight. It was not the easiest thing to tell someone, especially a man, that she had a brief s****l encounter with his brother in public. She wanted to find somewhere to hide instead of admitting anything, but he deserved to know. It was not just about her hurting his brother. It was about her humiliation. “Power flux,” Lucky stuttered nervously, deciding to admit to that first. “My wolf wanted to take control early on, but I would not let her.” “A power flux?” Dorran looked at her skeptically with his brow raised. “You fought my brother because you were in a power flux?” She nodded once, feeling like she was about to die over the lie she gave him. “The fact that you had an orgasm in public had nothing to do with it.” She looked at him shocked for a moment, but she should have known they would know. They are wolves and can smell emotions and even arousals. They are predators that hunt their prey through scent and a bit of sight. She turned her head away, feeling the heat hit her face even through the cold water spraying on her. She did not want to admit it or even let a tear shed down her face. It would be like saying she was weak, no matter if it was the truth. “I got angry when it happened, okay?” Lucky said in a small voice filled with pain. Dorran grabbed her chin with two fingers, holding it tightly with them, and turned her head to look at him. His eyes softened on hers and looked to be understanding, which made her breathe stutter in her chest. An ache developed there with her sadness welling inside her that wanted her to spew out her pain to him. The tears started dribbling down her face that he wiped away and touched her all the way to her heart. “You alphas have got my libido geared up and ready at any time,” she whispered. “I just lost it when I could not hold it in. I did not want anyone to know, hoping no one could smell it. I…” “Everyone can smell that you are sexually aroused by us,” Dorran chuckled softly, keeping his voice gentle. “It is alright. No one really cares. You are not mated and you’re a newborn. It happens…” “No, it is more than that,” Lucky insisted. “It is my wolf. She is the main one that is turned on by you four. She also wants to fight you guys at the same time. Star does not know why, but she rolls with it while I am embarrassed by it. I try not to let it affect me, but…” “The fight,” Dorran finished for her with a nod. “You could not accept it and fought Andrew in your anger because you blame him.” “Yes,” she nodded shamefully, trying to lower her head. “Next time it gets too much, find release,” Dorran told her as he released her wrists. “I tried this morning,” Lucky retorted back at him, disliking the sharpness of his tone. “It did not work.” She wanted to cross her arms in front of her, but he was too close to her body. He made her start to feel uncomfortable with his body’s heat, warming her up. She needed a barrier that kept him from making her arousal get heavier. She did not need that when she wanted to be pissed at his arrogant attitude. “Get a shower and get breakfast,” Dorran ordered her, which made her mouth drop. It ticked her off that he would tell her what to do. “Don’t even start. Remember, power fluxes can make you act childish. You know you need it after training and your orgasm. If you want, I can wash…” Lucky slapped his face, before he could finish another word. She knew he was going to ask to clean her, but she was not ready for that. He almost sounded like one of those sleazy guys in school that made her feel like a w****, too. It made her react rather than be mature about it. “Get out,” she growled and pointed to the door. “I am not a w****, no matter how much my wolf produces her arousal. I will not succumb to it and let you all f*** me!” “I was not meaning that,” Dorran growled at her angrily. “I was meaning it as a… Never mind! Just get cleaned up. I’ll tell Andrew to come for breakfast.” He stomped away and slammed the door, leaving her confused about his sudden mood change. It did not help that her emotions were swirling thoughts in her head. She wanted to let him do it, to feel his hands on her, again. She wanted his lips to touch hers, again, but she could not let go of her principles to do that. It would mean that she accepts him back in the dating game, and she was not sure that he deserved that inch. Blindly, she moved her hand to turn the water to warm, letting her body adjust to it, slowly, while removing her soaking wet clothes. Then, she vigorously washed her body of all the scents and the evidence that she had released. She let the tears dribble down her face all through the scrubbing of her hair and body, hoping that it would erase the memory. She did not like knowing that she could do so easily release without a man’s help. She hated herself and being a werewolf at that point. It made her wonder if going through this part of growth was really worth the change in her. I’m sorry. A sigh escaped her as she calmed down hearing Star’s voice sounded small and sad in her head. She got out of the shower grabbing a towel and dried herself off vigorously, feeling better than she had a moment ago. But now, she must deal with an upset wolf that heard her thoughts which added to her misery. She did not want her friend to feel as hurt as other people had made her feel in school. It made her hurt to know that she hurt. It is not entirely your fault. I should have said something to Andrew about what was going on with me. But now, you regret me. Only for a moment, but it will pass. I love you. You’re the best thing that has happened to me. Are you sure? Yes. Don’t fret on it anymore. You got me out of hell and to a place that feels like home. It is all because of you and no one else. I love you, too, Lucky, but don’t be sad. I know you still feel hurt by what happened. Wolves are s****l by nature. It will take some time to get used to it. While Lucky talked to Star, she was looking at the rosy colored tiles of her bathroom. It almost clashed with her bedroom’s and sitting room’s colors, but she also found it quaint. There was a large shower and bathtub sitting side-by-side with a built-in shelf filled with towels and washcloths. The pink counter of the sink has her makeup and hair supplies littering the top, when she can use the drawers under it. The large mirror has bulbs that surround it, so she can have better lighting to make herself beautiful. And there are hooks lining one side of the wall for her robe or her clothes. It seemed like Alpha Edge gave her the perfect bathroom that suited her needs rather than lavish her with splendor. She finished drying herself and went to her brown-trimmed, white bedroom to dress. She looked at the first brown wooden dresser beside her second one. Both were large enough that all her clothes fit into only one of them easily. She still hung up her good clothes in the walk-in closet that could fit four people’s clothing. Then, there were the brown wooden nightstands next to her bed that had light purple silk sheets and a cover. Normally, that would not be enough to keep her warm at night, but her wolf has heated her up these days. There was a TV, and a movie player just below it, which was across from the room with the vanity next to the white curtained window. Quickly, Lucky grabbed a pair of jeans from the closet and a slinky rosy colored tank top that showed her shoulders and had holes down the sides. Even with what happened on the training field, she wanted to feel sexy today. She assumed that feeling was from Star, when, normally, she would want to hide her body. Her wolf made no comment the entire time that she dressed, either, which frustrated her as she styled her hair like Marabella had shown her. She wanted to know what was going on with her so she could counter her moodiness. She was rushing, too, giving her no time to have a truly meaningful talk with her wolf. Andrew's presence coming from her sitting room with his father's did not help. It made her nervous that both men would be waiting for her. She did not know how she was going to show her face after what she had done. She wanted Easter to be there for breakfast, too, as a barrier, but she knew that she had to breathe through her worries and fears to face these men. It was the right thing to do. She opened the door just as Rick entered the sitting room, drawing her attention to him instead of the table. He was dressed in a t-shirt and jeans, looking exceptionally good. Every part of his body was defined by those clothes which made her lick her lips. Her wolf was panting in her head, but thankfully, Star was trying not to let her arousal seep into her. It was bad enough that she wanted to taste the skin that she could see as she remembered catching glimpses of him on the training field. His cocky smile was even perched on his chiseled face that had her wondering what his lips would taste like. Then, a throat cleared, drawing her attention to Andrew and Edge sitting at the table. The alphas look like twins except for their age difference that was clearly shown on their smiling faces. And there was a bruise on Andrew’s jaw that looked to be slowly healing. The memories of how it had gotten there flit through her mind, drawing a sense of satisfaction, mortification, and arousal hit her. His head had been between her legs that drew a sharp throb to her core as a reminder. She tightened her sore thighs and reminded her how Andrew’s fingers had dug into them. It was a pleasurable pain that she wanted to go through, again, which made her feel disgusted with herself. How can she like both pain and pleasure?! It is the way werewolves are programmed. “Are you alright, Lucky?” Edge asked, trying to keep his voice neutral. Her wolf’s chuckle was timed just right as she looked into his eyes, seeing the concern in them. His voice, though, sounded amused by her reaction to one of his sons. She wanted to say yes and forge on, but she also wanted to hide and take a moment to collect herself. These wayward thoughts and their auras are really wreaking havoc with her libido today. “I’m fine,” Lucky breathed, then moved to the table and sat down. “I am a little surprised that all of you came for breakfast with me. I thought it was going to be Andrew and me, then Rick and I for lunch. That is what Easter told me, anyways.” “It was supposed to be like that, yes,” Rick said as he sat at the table. “Then, there was this morning’s training session with my brother. We saw how you kicked his a**,” Andrew growled warningly as he laughed, “which was a good job, by the way. You looked sexy doing it, and there was not a single wolf who could say otherwise.” A blush covered her cheeks, feeling embarrassed that she had gone overboard on him. She flitted her eyes at him just to steal a glance and noticed that a wry smile was on his face. It was almost like he was proud that she hurt him. She could feel her lips twitch and pride starting to slip into her, but it still did not feel right. He was the next alpha in line, and she should have known her place. Screw that! He loved it. Take a whiff of the air. They are all pleased that you can fight. She did as she was told and breathed in deeply and quietly, so they did not know she was smelling their emotions. Their arousal, their pride that Rick had mentioned, and something else hit her nose. It stunned her. Most men would be upset or even disturbed by a woman being stronger, but she keeps forgetting that she was not the human world. The supernatural world is different, and, for a portion, they do not like their women being weak. “Thank you,” Lucky said bashfully with her head lowering a bit. “You’re welcome,” Edge said, followed by his sons, who sounded too enamored to say more. It made her face feel like flames were under it, turning it redder. “Now, eat. You need your strength after working hard.” She nodded as she looked at the table where fruit dishes were set in the middle. A part of her was disappointed there was no meat in her breakfast. She had become a steady meat eater since becoming a werewolf, but then, a few omegas came in pushing a trolley. The smell coming from it had her mouthwatering. Bacon, sausage, chicken (she thinks), and maybe, ham wafted to her hoping to get a little bit of everything. “It seems our future Luna is a devout meat eater,” Rick chuckled. “I think her eyes are about to pop out,” Andrew teased with a smile. She would have looked at him and been shocked that he lost his stoic façade, but they uncovered the dishes. The smell intensified and drool poured into her mouth. It was hard to even resist the temptation to eat it. “It is alright,” Edge chuckled, giving her a wave of his hand. “You are a newborn and growing, but if you’re done, then we need to talk.” Lucky knew that a conversation was coming to discuss something she would not like. She sighed and drooped her shoulders, waiting for him to chastise her for her behavior. It was always like that- the fluff up then the drop down. “What about?” she asked, keeping her voice light. “Dorran told us how your wolf reacts to us,” Edge said, trying to be gentle about it. “We will try to keep our auras down to the bare minimum for you.” “If you’re wondering,” Rick chimed in with that cocky smirk still on his face. “The unmated females and males were talking about you badly, until you Hulk-ed out. Then, they trembled in fear. I almost dropped to the ground laughing at the way they looked at you with their eyes wide open in fascination.” “They… they are not upset with me or calling me a w****?” Lucky asked quietly as she looked at him. Her eyes were pleading with him to tell her if it was true. She needed it to be true, so she did not feel like she did before- worthless, disgusted with herself, and sad. He shook his head, feeling the relief sweep through her and a smile slid up her face. “Good.” “If they did,” Rick said with a shrug, “we would shut them up.” “Besides, some people don’t remember what a newborn is like,” Andrew said quickly. “It has been a while since anyone has been in our pack that had drunk the potion or was bitten. So, we need to make sure that we have a pack meeting and treat them like they are children needing a better education.” “Yes,” Edge scoffed with a shake of his head. “And we need to find a secluded area for Lucky to train. I do not want her to miss a day.” “Father, we also need safeguards,” Andrew stated firmly. “She seemed like she was shifting out there.” “She wasn’t,” Edge assured her with a firm nod. “Are you sure, Father?” Rick asked with a snicker. “You were as entranced as the other men over her.” She looked at the alpha, shocked to see the slight blush on his face that said it was true. It shocked her more that she had an effect on him. He has more power than her, and a thousand years of experience to not succumb to a woman so quickly. She wanted to say something about that, except she did not know where to start. “I’m sure!” he huffed with his wolf growling in his chest, sounding like he was irritated at his son. “She had a power flux like she said. Her eyes turning ice blue…” “What!?” Lucky shouted, looking at each of them in awe over this. “Did anything else change? Did I get fur? Claws?” Rick chuckled before saying, “No. It was just your eyes looked as blue as the ice in the arctic.” “Ugh!” she groaned. “I cannot wait to see what my wolf looks like. I want to know what her fur color is. Oh, and does Marabella do fur? Star was antsy about getting it done shortly after our first shift. She loved what she did to my hair.” “I’ll check,” Andrew said with a laugh. “Your wolf sounds like a force to be reckoned with.” “Ask Dorran about that!” Lucky sniggered. “Speak of,” Edge said with a bite to her tone, “WereTV announced that you and Dorran were intimate…” Her eyes went round and her heart thudded in her chest. Do they know that she was the one who gave them the information? She drummed up something to make them smell like disgust rather than fear. Star was helping her, so she could pretend that she had done nothing wrong. The images, though, did actually make her feel exactly what she wanted to feel. She did not have to worry about making her face. She completely forgot that it would be announced last night. The sympathy in their eyes, though, told her that they were buying it, which made her feel a little guilty. “They, they know about what I did to Dorran?” Lucky said with a squeak in her voice. “They…” “Well, we did not listen to the details,” Andrew said as Rick frowned, showing that he wanted to know. “We want to know if he did anything he shouldn’t have to you,” Edge said gently with his hands clasped on the table. “No,” Lucky snapped and glared at the alpha. “He did not do anything to me. It was I who did it to him…” The fervor in her voice snapped their heads to her, which made her face turn a darker shade of red. Her brows were furrowed, and anger hardened her face. She knows what it looks like to them now as she defends him from their wrath, but they had no idea what she feels about him or what happened yesterday. She did not even know what she felt for him and their act other than disgusted with herself with a bit of intrigue. However, she must save him from the alpha's wrath. Maybe we could try it, again? “Do you care to explain or would you rather have privacy?” Andrew asked as he tried to sound casual about it. It did not work. There was a hint of jealousy in his voice. “To hell with privacy,” Rick snapped, looking angry. “I want to know why in the Hell she went from being… intimate to dumping him.” “I think we all want to know that,” Edge huffed, “but it is between those two.” “He caused it before the intimacy,” Lucky stated stupidly. She wanted to kick her rear at how it sounded and their eyes were looking at her, shocked. Another sigh slipped out of her as she was about to give them a brief summarization of what happened and her wolf and her. “I trust my wolf more than I have anyone because she freed me. She is the one that makes me feel alive when I had felt dead. And trust me on what I am saying when I say that what he spewed out of his mouth, not only p***ed me off, but my wolf, too. She was the one who initiated the act while keeping our clothes on. Past that, you’ll know nothing more. “And since you are all here,” her anger started to fill her with the memory of what she had done, “I will have breakfast with Andrew, lunch will be with Rick, and dinner with Edge. I designed it this way so that I can do my training and gain favor with the pack. My education to be a Luna and dating can be done in-between that. I may miss some pack dinners, but that will be at my choosing. Which any and all dates will be on a first come first serve basis with me fixing dinner for all of you once a week. Does that sound good to you three?” Her anger has done this to her, recently. She becomes assertive and even a little domineering, giving no one a chance to say anything about her plans. It was like when she bought that dress that she wore a few days ago. She saw it, went to it, and picked it up. There was no amount of bargaining or cajoling from her mother to make her want the other dress. Their yelling was so bad that the clerks had to threaten to call the police. She just glared her mother and refused to back down. That was when Beta Ross intervened and purchased it for her with a small smile. This was no different. She was ready to argue her points. “I see nothing wrong with it,” Alpha Edge said with a shrug as he looked at his sons. “It sounds good to me,” Rick added, as Andrew gave a nod. “Good,” Edge rapped his knuckles on the table a little hard. “That leads me to your tutor. Luna Ava was an old friend of Dorran's mother. She will be here tomorrow to begin your tutoring. She knows this pack well from his mother and the events that we set up seasonally. She can run you through the Luna Ceremony, too, and help you pick out a dress as well as decorate it to your liking.” “Alright,” Lucky said with a tight smile and a firm nod. She noticed the grim looks on Rick’s and Andrew’s faces. It gave her a weird feeling that she had to brush aside for later. Something about this women coming to the pack did not settle well with them, she could tell. She would say that they do not want them here, but that did not seem likely. Or maybe it was because she was Dorran's mother’s friend. Maybe the reminder of not being raised by his mother made it hard for him, she thought. She made a mental note to ask him later if he was alright to talk about it. “I, also, wanted to ask about s****l encounters between us,” Lucky stated, then winced at how it sounded. “I mean if I have a s****l encounter with one, I would not want the other to be jealous. I really hope that I do not have another one, but I cannot control my wolf’s arousal. She seemed like a she-wolf in heat earlier. That is about the closest…” “It is alright, Lucky,” Edge chuckled. “In human terms, you are dating four- three men. If you have a s****l relation with someone, then we are fine. Right boys?” The look on Rick’s face screamed possessive while Andrew’s face held anger. Both are dominant men that do not like to share. Even with Edge's face looking neutral, she could feel an angry possession filling him. She already knew that from the education she received with the beta and a few omegas. So, she gave them a soft pleading look with her eyes hoping that they would understand that she couldn't help this. Something in her was driving her to mate, regardless of her wanting to or not, and it was with all of them not just one. “We will be fine,” Andrew responded tensely. “Yeah, sure,” Rick breathed like it was forced from him. “There you go,” Edge chuckled as his eyes flicked to his sons. “You do not have to let your consciousness make you feel bad that you will hurt one or the other. Once you are marked by said mate, then that will be the past and the bond will begin between both of you. You do know what a marking is, right?” “Yes,” Lucky nodded. “It is where the canines of either male or female insert into the base of the neck and a bond is formed between them through that. It connects the heart and soul together to make it like a real fated mate bond instead of a chosen mate bond. Although the connections are different, because the wolf half has to agree to the bond unlike fated mates. We will still feel each other in ways no human can.” “Simply put,” Edge complimented, seeming to be impressed. “That is almost verbatim of what my wolf told me,” she gushed. “Your wolf teaches you very well,” Rick mused with his finger tracing around his lips in thought. “Ttthank you,” she responded nervously.
