The storm raged for almost three days and left the entire house tense, waiting. Jason, in a stroke of genius, worked his brothers hard, cleaning the entire house spotless from top to bottom. If anyone had bothered to question him about it, he would’ve defended himself with the answer that he was trying to stave off a mutiny.
With the way his brothers kept side eying him, Jason didn’t think he would be exaggerating.
Danny especially would get fits of pique, attempting to slink by Jason’s notice and wander into Jason’s room to see if he could rouse their unplanned guest. Mostly, he thought it was because Danny was the most skeptical of the family and the stranger was the proof Danny had been looking for, one way or another.
