The car stopped abruptly in front of the nightclub we were supposed to go to. I looked out of the window and felt something strange inside my heart like something is going to happen today. I shook my head to clear my thoughts, I don't want any negativity for now. After a few hours, it was my birthday. " We are here," Linda said, as she got out of the car. From her tone I know she is excited. Looking at her cheerful soul, a smile made its way to my lips. The driver went out and opened the door for me to get out. I was taken aback by his sudden gesture, and I blushed when he offered me his hand to hold. No one in my whole life had done this for me. I took his hand and got out of the car giving him a small smile. " Thank you," I said and he nodded his head before going over to the driver's side. " Hurry up," Linda said, coming by my side and holding my hand. " Someone's got a crush on….. she said in a sing-song voice and trailed off. I rolled my eyes at her so that she knows I am not interested in whatever she is going to say. As we reached the door of the nightclub, I looked at the four bulky men standing outside. This was unusual for me but I guess it's normal because I haven't been to one till now, I thought mentally and shrugged off the feeling I got from looking at them. " Wait here," Linda said and walked towards them as I stood there. She took out a card and showed up to them before saying something. Meanwhile, I looked up to see the club's name and narrowed my eyes to `` The Devil's Den". This was not the name of the club Linda mentioned earlier. The name of the club gave me a spooky vibe. " What are you looking at?" Linda asked, pulling me out of my chain of thoughts. " Nothing," I said and cleared my throat. She looked at me before taking my hand and we both walked inside as one of them bowed his head and opened the door for us. " Sh.it," I cursed when I saw couples kissing each other like there is no tomorrow without minding their surroundings. I looked at Linda who just gave me a smirk as we walked past them. We went downstairs and my ear fell off because of the beat of the music. Linda tightened her hold on my hand and dragged me towards a door. I sighed entering the room as the loud music faded away replacing it with a soft and subtle one. " How was that?" Linda asked. " What?" I asked and looked at her. As soon as my eyes fell on her face I knew what she was talking about. " Well, that was kinda hot you could say," I said truthfully, which made her laugh. " You should try it sometimes," she said. Before I could answer her, I felt my body go stiff and the hair on the back of my neck stood up. I felt like someone was watching me, but when I looked back I didn't see anyone. " Is there anything wrong?" Linda asked, after tugging my hand a few times. " Ah.. umm. I felt like someone was watching me, ``I said, and again her behaviour changed weirdly. She laughed awkwardly before saying, " We are in a club and they always look for a hot chick." After we are seated in a VIP lounge she orders for us. " How on earth did you manage to get in here? I mean in a VIP lounge, ``I asked. I looked around to see the people here have a big shot kind of vibe. " You know me. I have the thing that they call money," she replied. I smiled and shook my head at her. This place is nice with minimal lights and with the just right kind of music which will not make my ears bleed. Our liquor came when we were chatting casually. She didn't order alcohol for me and I am grateful for that. " Are you ready to lose yourself a bit?" Linda asked with a knowing smile on her face. I knew what she was talking about. " Nope," I said, shaking my head at her. I leaned forward to place the glass on the table when suddenly someone said something from behind, making me jump out of my skin. " Hello beautiful," he said. I turned around to see who it was and saw a bunch of guys, who looked like businessmen standing right behind me. I managed to calm my racing heart as I raised an eyebrow at them. " Come join us," one of them said. " We will pass. Thanks," Linda said before me. " It will be fun," the other one said. I quickly scanned my eyes over them. There are five people and I don't seem to like them. " She said she is not interested," I heard an unfamiliar voice say in his deep and grave voice. All of our heads snapped in the direction of that voice and I felt my breath hitch. My eyes were fixed on the most alluring blue eyes I have ever seen in my life. I felt like there was no one present except us. " Lord," they said and I saw from the corner of my eyes they all bowed. But that didn't matter to me right now. He slightly tilted his body towards the group and I took the opportunity to look at his face. He looked like an angel to me. He was perfectly built, not bulky and not lean. His face was chiselled and sharp like God had carved him into a fine piece. I would have drolled right now if he wasn't standing near me. I turned around and looked at Linda who was looking at her watch. Then I heard the footsteps of those guys who were leaving. I looked at Linda who was not bothered at all by this situation, rather she looked calm like she knows this guy. I raised my eyebrows at her as I waited for her to say something. " Umm, boss," she said, awkwardly. " Hmm," he hummed in response. " Hey, Linda. What are you doing here?" Another voice asked. " Well, we came here to celebrate her birthday," she explained. " Oh," he said. " I am Oliver," he said, extending his hand. I gave him a small smile as I took his hand and shook his hand lightly. Then I looked at the man who was still standing there glaring at Oliver. I waited for him to introduce himself. " This is Lucifer," Oliver said. I was about to say something when the clock hit twelve. " Happy birthday," Linda said in a sing-song voice as she clapped her hands. I gave her a genuine smile. " Happy Birthday, beautiful," Oliver said and pulled me in a hug. It was so sudden that I didn't have time to respond. I heard a growl and he pulled away as his smile faltered. " What was that?" I asked. " Music maybe," Oliver said. I didn't believe him but didn't say anything either. " Happy Birthday, Ava," Lucifer said, making me shiver all of a sudden. His voice sounded like he had been waiting for this moment for a very long time. I looked at his eyes and there were so many emotions swirling inside his orbs. He finally took out his hand from his pocket and extended it towards me to take it. A gasp left my mouth as soon as our skin made contact. I felt like there was nothing and no one else there except us. My skin heart was pounding against my chest wildly yet it felt calm. Their sparks went through my veins where he touched them. I looked at him drawing a sharp breath and then looking at me. The moment he opened his eyes I wanted to run away from him. Then the harsh reality hit me as I heard screaming of people as they were leaving the club in a hurry.
