Ava
I didn't know for how many hours I had waited for him to come and let me go but eventually I gave up the idea when the sun had already set.
“ There is no way he is going to let me go,” I whispered to myself, hugging myself tightly. I shivered slightly as the winds got stronger and the window was left open.
I looked out of the huge window and a bitter smile made its way on my lips. The memories of my family flooded in my mind. We used to have lots of fun on nights like this. We used to watch movies after a good dinner. The corner of my eyes were wet but I held myself back.
The knock on the door made me blink away my unshed tears. Turning my head towards the door I waited for Lucifer to come in but to my surprise someone else came into the room, the one I least expected.
“ Hy,” she said, sounding guilty. Well she should be lying to me and not telling the truth, but I wasn't mad at her anymore because she was only doing her job.
One thing I still didn't understand was why I needed to be protected and from who?
“ I am sorry, Ava,” she said, crouching down on the floor in front of me where I was sitting.
“ You have every right to be mad at me and I know I made a mistake for not telling you everything but I wasn't supposed to,” she said.
“ Why?” I asked, my voice breaking. I am fed up being a strong girl and now all I need to know is that my family is alive.
“ Because you are our queen Ava!!!” She stated.
“ Why me? There are so many beautiful and capable girls out there,” I said, narrowing my eyes at her.
“ We didn't choose you Ava but the goddess herself did,” she answered. Her answer was shocking.
“ What? They are real too?” I asked in disbelief.
“ Yes, Ava. If you want to know anything, I am willing to tell you everything but I need you to stop punishing yourself. You are not just punishing yourself but the people who love you are also suffering,” she said.
“ this is. I don't know how to explain this,” I said with a sigh.
“ This is all new to me, not just knowing I feel like I am into some kind of fantasy book,” I said honestly. I am still in the process of accepting this is happening for real. There are vampires and goddesses that do exist.
“ Take a deep breath Ava,” she said and I did what I was told.
“ Come with me,” saying that she helped me up before she led me towards the bed and made me sit down.
“ Eat and I will explain everything,” she said. Nodding my head I agreed to her request. One of the maids brought us food or for me only. I wonder if they eat like us or not.
“ You know the answer really well,” she said, answering my unasked question. I nodded my head at her before my eyes went wide.
“ How did you….. I trailed off.
“ Sorry, it's just I am curious about what you are thinking,” she said.
“ So you all can read minds?” I asked.
“ Pretty much but not all of us can do that. There are certain vampires who were gifted with abilities,” she explained.
“ So what's mate?” I asked.
She explained everything and every question of mine. Then she told me about Lucifer and the goddess who paired me with him. She also told me that werewolves, fairies and mermaids are all real.
I finished my meal listening to her explanation.
“ So he knew me from when I was sixteen?” I asked and she nodded. Yeah that explains Linda's arrival in my life.
“ What about my parents? Do they know where I am and what I am doing?” I asked.
“ I called them and told them that you will be staying with me for a while,” she said.
“ What? How did you convince my mother? She would have passed out if I said that I will be staying out of home for a few days,” I said in disbelief.
“ The abilities,” she said mischievously.
“ But I can't accept him,” I said, suddenly cutting her off abruptly.
“ What? Why? I thought you accepted us,” she said.
“ It's not like that. Yes I accepted you but it won't work out between us he is a mons…… I paused and looked at Linda and she was obviously hurt by my statement.
“ He is a vampire king and I am an ordinary human, so it won't work between us,” I said with a sigh.
“ To be honest I am still in the process of accepting all of this,” I said looking at her.
“ Give him a chance,” she said.
“ I ….. I….. I didn't know what to say to her and I definitely didn't want to give her false hope.
She also told me about Lucifer’s friend Austin and that his mate was also a human.
“ He is scary,” I said randomly.
“ He is but once he is open with you, you will like him,” she said.
“ I need time, Linda. I was scared before you came to me but now everything seems to be natural,” I said lying down on my back.
“ But I am not afraid of him, it's quite the opposite,” I said.
“ It's the mate bond. You two are made for each other to stop pushing him away. Maybe you will find yourself falling for him,” she said. Her words made me unknowingly calm and it also gave me some kind of strength.
“ He will be here soon,” she said, making me jerk up on the bed.
“ What? No, why?”
“ This is his room. You can't expect him to stay outside all day and all night,” she shrugged.
Looking around the room I realised that this room indeed belongs to man. The walls of the room were painted grey and black and the furniture were black and there was gold detailing on the edge. Everything looks luxurious.
I gulped before my head snapped at the direction of the door where I saw he was standing, looking at me.
“ Lord,” she said, before getting off of the bed and bowing her head.
“ I will come again,” she said, looking at me with a smile. I pleaded with my eyes but she turned blind eye and left me alone.
I saw him walking inside the room gracefully, looking at me. He looked majestic and handsome but not a vampire king.
“ She told you everything,” he said, walking in front of the window.
“ Yes,” I said.
“ I still don't want to stay here,” I said firmly.
“ I won't stop you,” he said. But of course I didn't want to believe him.
“ Do you know you are kind of putting your parents in danger by going back there?” He asked. I felt all of the blood drained from my face hearing his words.
“ I will not stop you Ava,” he said, turning to me.
“ Thank you,” I said, getting up from the bed. He didn't say a word and it was difficult to know what was going on in his mind since Linda told me that mate is really an important part of any supernatural beings they complete each other.
“ I will always remember your kindness, your highness,” I said honestly. I couldn't deny the fact that I am attracted to him and he is affecting me in ways I didn't have imagined I would be affected.
“ It's Lucifer for you,” he said, reaching me in a blink of an eye. I gasped, holding my breath and placing both of my hands on his chest.
“ Are you sure you want to leave?” He whispered into my ears. His voice was enough to send jolts of electricity down my spine.
“ Huh, yea…. I found myself stuttering.
“ I will grant your wish, my sweet Ava,” he said. I was getting wet down there and It was difficult to hold my moan. But one thing is for sure I am loving his touch.
“ But I have one condition,” he said, scattering my hopes.
“ What?”
“ Kiss me,” he said.
“ What?” Saying that I tried to push him away but he wouldn't budge from his spot.
“ N….. before I could finish my words his lips came down crashing in mine.
I didn't for a second tried to push him away, all I could feel was safety and that I belong to him and no one else.
“ You……. Are…… mine, Ava,” he declared in between his kisses. He made me want for more. Both of my hands started to roam on his chest when everything went black.
