Cryptic

214 Words
I waited out for Gray as I gently fixed my hair, my mind wandering. I was anxious about the interview. Anxious about the phone call Gray received earlier, anxious about Kris, everything. It felt like I was having an extremely long bout of happiness, and I was scared something would come right now and ruin it all. Ruin us all. The thought sent a chill rubbing down my spine, and I closed my eyes as I bit down on my lower lip. I had to be strong. For Gray. For us. I was so damned sure about us that I couldn't see this ending up any other way. I couldn't see us getting the marriage annulled, and I couldn't see myself lose Gray to another woman, especially not those sisters. I suddenly heard a slight groan, and my eyes widened. Could something have happened to Gray? Without thinking, I immediately followed, my heart hammering in my chest. Gray was standing in front of the mirror. His belt was on the floor, and blood was running down his pinky. I covered the distance, my eyes catching a glimpse of something on his phone. It was Samantha, a picture of her, wearing the exact dress she had stolen from me, a chilling smile on her lips.
