I slept off on Gray's lap, the constant humming under his voice, and the slow caresses around my face keeping me company. It was bittersweet and as painful as it healed me, but I did manage to sleep through my conflicted emotions.
When I woke up, Gray wasn't in the room, and there was a single note next to a vase of flowers on the bedside.
It simply said; "I will see you at dinner."
I sighed, closing my eyes as I brought the motes to my chest. It was crazy that I was looking forward to seeing him when I had just slept off on his lap, andI began to wonder if I was a little too far gone for someone who should be learning how to stay away.
I got out of bed and turned towards the mirror. The reflection I saw seemed a little different. A little less like the Evangeline that was with Kevin.
A knock came on the door, and I turned to it, my brows furrowed.
"Yes?"
The door knob turned, and a maid walked in. "Dinner is set, ma'am."
My heart skipped a beat and without even replying her, I skipped over to the large walk in closet.
