"Agnishikha, Agnishikha get up. You lazy girl." Someone screamed
I rubbed my eyes as I got up from my sleep.
I looked outside and saw it's already morning.
Oh no! I'm late. I was supposed to get up and make Chitrangada ready for today's occasion.
" Agnishikha! "
Another scream came making me jump in my place
I got up hurriedly and covered my face with a veil.
I'm not allowed to show my face to anyone.
I opened the door of my room and saw Chitrangada herself here.
Oh no she herself here isn't a good sign.
"so the princess is awake after all huh? How was your sleep princess?" she mocked me
She likes calling me a princess to taunt me.
"Now don't stand here, come into my chamber soon. You have to get me ready. I don't want any problems today." she said and I nodded my head fast
She left from here and I sighed in relief.
Oh I didn't give my introduction.
I'm Agnishikha. A namesake princess of this kingdom Aryagar. But in reality I'm a maid of my own sister Chitrangada.
Yes that girl is my sister, my half sister. She is 3 years younger then me.
We both have the same father. But not the same fate for sure.
My mother late Queen Shikhanya was my father's first wife but she died while giving birth to me thus I was marked as a bad omen who killed her mother.
The reason for my father's and elder brother's hatred for me.
Oh I'm not also permitted to call them father or brother.
They are maharaja (king) and Yuvraj (crown Prince) for me.
The queen also Hate me but she love Yuvraj that's a relief
In this big Palace I'm lonely. I was caged in my room for 10 years.
I had two maids who were like my friends and elderly figure in my life
One is the midwife who was with my mother at the time of her delivery and another one is my mother's personal maid who is loyal to her ever after her death.
The midwife died when I was 12 years old and Kasturi masi (aunt) is still here but she is now serving my sister Shubhadrangi.
She is Chitrangada's twin sister but unlike her she loves me a lot.
She is the only one who loves me in this Palace.
She even calls me Didi as I'm her elder sister.
I sighed at my thoughts. I'm so lonely.
Shubhadrangi gets scolded because she spends her time with me so I maintain my distance with her.
Today is a special day.
The Maharaja of Avantipur is coming to sign a treaty with maharaja.
He is a very powerful man and a humble person that I have heard.
He is very good looking and young as well.
Blame the maids of this Palace who like to gossip a lot. Like a lot.
Now I have to get ready and make Chitrangada ready.

I took shower in my personal bath area.

I got ready and ran towards Chitrangada's room
In my path I bumped with someone.

"humse bhool ho gayi hai hame Kshama kar de. (I did mistake please pardon me)" I apologies again
"aj mehel me maharaja Devdutt ane wale hai. Dhyan rahe koi vul naho paye. (today king Devdutt is coming in the Palace don't do any mistakes)" he said and I nodded
"What happened Bharatasree?" Shubhadrangi asked
"Nothing that should bother my princess, why aren't you ready? You should be ready in the finest clothes that I bought for you and Chitrangada." Yuvraj said with a smile
And I won't lie that it didn't hurt me. It really hurts very bad.
I am also his sister but he never smiles at me. Smile is far away and he never even looks at me properly.
Whenever he looks at me it makes me feel like dirt.
"What are you doing here? Go." He yelled and I nodded my head and left from there
I wiped the tears and entered Chitrangada chamber.
I am not any dirt. I'm special. I know kasturi masi told me about my mother.
And the mark in my hand also means something but the problem is I don't know how to use them or anything.
"come here you lazy girl. You're already late." Chitrangada screamed
She has many maids but she always needs me to do her chores and make her ready.
I walked inside and started my work silently.
I made her ready and she is looking so beautiful.
My sister is really beautiful. I hope that maharaja Devdutt will like her and agree to marry her.
She may treat me badly but that doesn't change the fact that she is my sister.
"You did a good job. I'm happy. You can wear new clothes today as maharaja is coming." she said and I nodded mutely
I don't talk when it's not needed.
I took the new clothes from her maid and went back to my room to change.
I wore a few ornaments as well.
I have to pretend my status as a Rajkumari as well.
I got ready and set my veil. I never forget to hide my face.
Maharaja thinks that if he sees my face then everything will be wrong and bad.
It's a bad omen to see my face so I should cover it.
It really hurts me when it comes from my birth giver..
I'm also his part but it's like I'm an unwanted part.
Maybe he loves my mother so much that's why he hates me.
Sometimes I wonder how my life would be if my mother didn't die. If maharaja And Yuvraj also loved me like they love Chitrangada and Shubhadrangi.

It happens whenever I cry a lot.
I shook my head and went outside as the maharaja must be here.
The sounds of instruments and screams of soldiers are making it obvious.
Maharaja along with my sisters Yuvraj and maharani is waiting for him to come.
I'm also standing in the royal family queue beside Shubhadrangi.
"you're looking beautiful Didisa." she complemented
"You didn't even see me, how can you say that?" I asked
"I know because my Didisa is the most beautiful girl in this kingdom." she whispered so Chitrangada won't hear her
I just shook my head and held the water vessel that I had to place in front of the Maharaja so he could step on it and enter the Palace.
Maharani ji did the Arti to welcome him.
And I peaked at him from my veil.
And he is really handsome just like the maids discussed.
"he is so handsome right? It will be so good if he chose you as his bride." Shubhadrangi said and I gasped
Chitrangada will surely kill me if she hears this.
"shh don't say these things." I told her
"Agnishikha!" Maharani ji called my name and I know what that means
I step ahead and walk towards maharaja Devdutt to do the welcoming process that a princess should do.
As I'm the elder princess so I had to do it.
I placed the vessel in front of him and said
"Welcome Maharaja to the Kingdom or Aryagar."
He smiled and asked something I didn't think he would.
