Chapter 2

Author's POV:

Flashback.......

"Hey, you guys came. Why are you so late? See, all the guests already arrived", Stefan's mom, Jenna said to Elena and her parents who just arrived to attend Stefan's 12th birthday. Jenna bent down and place a kiss on little Elena's cheek who was standing with a small gift box on her hand.

"How are you, sweetie?", Jenna asked Elena with affection in her voice.

"I'm good, Aunt Jenna. And now, after meeting with you, I'm feeling incredible", Elena replied sounding happy.

"Is it the gift for Stefan?", Jenna asked and Elena nodded her head as yes and next second her eyes start searching for Stefan among the guest, but she didn't find him which make her upset.

"He isn't here. I think you can find him in his room as he was waiting for you but you came late. So, maybe he pissed off now", Jenna said looking at Elena's upset face. Elena starts feeling more sad and helpless after hearing Jenna as she doesn't want Stefan to be angry with her.

"I want to give him this by myself otherwise he won't recognize my gift from all the gifts", Elena said, looking at the direction where a lot of gifts were placed by the guests.

"Yeah....sure. You can go to him and give him your gift. And I think it will melt his anger, and he will no longer be pissed off on you anymore", Jenna said making Elena happy once again.

Elena went to the upstairs of the mansion as she already knew where Stefan room is. Although she came here many times before, but today she was feeling kinda nervous as Stefan is angry with her since yesterday, and she doesn't know the reason behind it.

Elena tried to talk with Stefan yesterday in the school but all he did is totally ignore her which make her sad, and she doesn't want Stefan to be angry with her also on his birthday as she was very excited about today.

Little Elena stands in front of the door of Stefan's room and knock slowly.

"I'm not interested to go in front of the guest right now, mom", Stefan said from inside as he thought it was his mom.

"Stefan... It's me. Can I come in?", Elena asked but find nothing in reply. She keeps standing in front of the close door as Stefan yet not said, anything to her.

"Come in", Elena heard Stefan's arrogant voice after nearly five or six minutes. Elena didn't waste a second and stepped inside his room.

Elena looked at Stefan who was busy on his desktop to play games, and he isn't caring about her presence. Elena was feeling hurt by his ignoring behavior, but she was trying hard not to be upset.

Elena also noticed that Stefan was dressed in a dark blue tuxedo, but he still staying in his room without going downstairs and meeting with the guests.

Brushing off her thoughts, She went near to Stefan.

"Happy Birthday, Stefan", Elena said and forward the small gift box to him.

"Hmmm.....", Stefan replied, and He doesn't even bother to look at her as his full attention was on the desktop screen. He doesn't even care to receive the gift or say Thanks.

"I brought this gift for you. Don't you want to open it?", Elena asked sounding sad. She wants Stefan to open the gift box, and gives his charming smile after seeing the gift.

"Leave it here. I will check if I got time", Stefan said arrogantly and Elena realized that he is still angry with her.

Although she doesn't even know the reason for his anger on her, she decided to apologize because she can't see him remain angry with her.

"Stefan... I'm sorry", Elena said and this time Stefan look at her for the first time after she came here. His rare green eyes meet with her hazel brown eyes. His eyes were holding different emotions while her eyes showing how sad she was by Stefan's rude behavior.

"Why are you saying sorry?", Stefan asked being curious as he wants to know the reason for her.

"I don't know. You're seeming angry on me. So, I thought I need to say sorry", Elena muttered. Stefan was studying her face while hearing her, and he can't help himself to feel guilty for behaving arrogantly and rudely with her.

"Why are you even saying sorry if you don't know your fault", Although Stefan was feeling guilty of his behavior but the reason for his anger wasn't letting him to be kind to her.

"Don't act so rudely, Stefan. I will start crying. I don't want to cry as my eyeliner will smudge if I cry and mom will be angry with me. So, please don't hurt me anymore", Elena said as tears start pooling in her eyes. Elena's talk was making Stefan laugh, but he was trying hard not to laugh.

He also doesn't want to see tears in her eyes, so, he decided to accept the gift happily. Stefan took Elena near the couch and make her sit with him.

He opened the gift box and find a watch inside it. Stefan instantly like it as he knows that it was chosen by Elena. He took off the watch in his hand and wear the one which Elena give.

"Do you like it?", Elena asked excitedly.

"Yeah... It's amazing", Stefan said looking at the watch which was seeming perfect in his wrist.

"But the gift don't make me happy, Elena", Stefan again said with a serious expression and the happy smile faded away from Elena's face.

"Why? Don't you like it?", Elena asked worriedly.

"I do but it's not the reason, but I want something else for my birthday gift", Stefan said making Elena confused.

"What's that? Do you want any video games?", Elena asked as she knows that Stefan is obsessed with games.

"No... I want a promise. I want you to promise me something", Stefan said and Elena becomes more curious.

"Promise... For What, Stefan?", Elena asked.

"You have to promise me today that you're not going to make friendship with any boy. You can make friends with girls as much as you want but not with a single boy", Stefan said which left Elena stunned. Her little mind still can't figure out why Stefan wants her to promise this.

"I saw you yesterday in the school with Bryson. You're playing with him, smiling with him and I don't like it", Stefan said this time sounding very much furious.

"He is my friend. And what's wrong if I make friends with a boy? Is it the reason for you to angry on me?", Elena asked as it is still unbelievable for her.

"Yeah... It is the reason, and that's why I don't want you to make any boy your friend", Stefan replied.

"But what's wrong if I do that", Elena asked feeling strange, and she wanted to know the reason.

"Because I hate it, Elena. I want you to have only me as your friend, not any other boys. I just can't see you with other boys because you're mine. And when I saw Bryson yesterday with you, all I wanted to beat him and make him stay away from you", Stefan explained his reason. Elena becomes silent as she doesn't find any words to reply.

"So do you want to promise me, Elena?", Stefan asked while she was looking at him helplessly.

Although the reason was still unclear to Elena, but she doesn't want to hurt Stefan and make him angry once again as all she wanted to see the charming smile on his face.

"I promised, I won't make any boy my friend nor talk to them except you, Stefan", Elena promised, and she knows that she also doesn't want any other boy in her life without Stefan.

Elena's promise make Stefan more than happy and next second he pulled her for a tight and warm hug.

Elena's POV:

I stopped my car in front of a penthouse which is a few miles away from the city area of Miami and also in a silent place. And the specialty of this house is, my dad doesn't know about it and also, he doesn't have a single idea which is a great blessing. Even no one knows about this house except me and my mom as there is a big reason for hidden this house from everyone. This penthouse belongs to one of my mom's aunt who is quite old now.

But she isn't the reason I came here today rather there also lives a person who is my family and very much close to my heart. I come here once every week to meet with the person and today I come here to celebrate Stefan's birthday with her.

"Hello, Grams", I said to my mom's Aunt after entering the house. A smile appeared on her face after seeing me.

"We were eagerly waiting for you", she said with a happy tone.

"Sorry if I'm late", I said and looked around the house but not find the person whom I'm looking for.

"Where is she?", I asked to grams.

"She is waiting for you since early morning. She is in the garden", Grams said and I don't waste a second to go to the garden which was on the backside of the house. I find her, giving water to the plants.

"Aunt Jenna", I called her out from behind which make her turned around and looked at me.
