Chapter 10: Kiki

1944 Words
KIKI’S POV.   “Since you didn’t install the cameras, you deprived us of the privilege of watching you in action. Now do us good by telling us how you escaped from the midst of over three hundred and eighty men.” Bianca says as she clinks her glass of wine with Mike’s.   “As soon as I was done with the assignment, I sent a text to have the lights tripped off. I knew that most of the men would be confused and their concentrations would be centered on attacking whosoever made the lights go off. So, I knocked out one of the men and took his suit. It wasn’t as easy as I am talking about now. I was almost caught by the only female I could spot among them. That lady flickered her phone’s flashlight at me and I had to walk like I wasn’t in a haste. I started a fire  knowing fully well that the whole building won’t burn down due to the sprinklers. I knew they would fix their attention on the gate, so I jumped over the fence.” I narrate and I can read an expression of satisfaction displayed on Alejandro’s face.   “Even the cameras, won’t give us much detail as you have given us in person.” Joe comments and I smile as he pours me some more wine.   “I think we shouldn’t drink so much wine now. Let’s wait for dinner. In the meantime, someone should come out with something fun we can do.” Mike remarks as he eyes my wine glass, causing me to roll my eyes.   Taking out my phone, I scroll through some novels and click on any depending on how attractive the cover is.   “Let’s watch some horror movie.” Bianca suggests and I shake my head.   “No way. You are only choosing that because you are around your man. Most of us here are single and there is no woman that would hold us or cuddle with us while we watch.” Joe replies for himself and Alejandro, making me grin.   “Let’s recall high school days. Those days we do some Karoke whenever we just finish an exam. We are way too serious now. It shouldn’t be just about the mafia and our legal businesses. If no one buys the idea of watching a movie then maybe we should play game among ourselves. Right before anyone suggest we play some pool, dart, monopoly and any related game; that isn’t going to be accepted. Let’s play some other like truth or dare or maybe thirty one questions.” Bianca says and I shake my head.   I really hope this game doesn’t end up with me making out with Alejandro or Joe.   “I would rather we take our time to set up a karoke in the arena. It something we have already, we just need to have any of the workers set it up.” Alejandro suggests instead.   I think that is a better idea. Even he doesn’t want to end up confessing what he doesn’t want to share with anyone.   “You all seemed way too relaxed.” My Mom’s voice makes us all stand.   “Let’s all discuss in the conference room.” Erica orders and leave with her husband and my parents.   We all move for the exit and Alejandro moves his hand to touch mine, causing my breath to hitch in my throat. We five walk out of the main house and head towards the elevator leading to conference room on the first floor.   As soon as we step out, the doors are open for us by the men at the doors and we find our parents seated.   “You all are capable enough to handle the mafia, so why did you leave a trace to us when you re-directed the shipment? What exactly are you all driving at?” My mom seems angry.   “It is my fault. I suggested we live a trace so they track it us and we can have the fight once and for all.” I explain and Erica stands.   “That was a foolish thing to do. Just because you succeeded in killing Angelo, you think there won’t be a repercussion.” Theo scolds and I bow my head.   “Although we left a track to us. I am the only one that can c***k the code. In other words the trace they have is that someone actually did it and it is not a mistake from the port. We are safe.” Joe safes me and I sit.   “Congratulations to you all, we have an increase in our net worth by hundred million. We would be starting off a construction company and finally both Theo and Brantly can put their school certificate to work as well as Alejandro.” My mom says and we all smile.   “Since you all are here already why don’t you join us for dinner, we will be glad to have our parents join us.” Bianca suggests and leave.   Everything in the background seems vague to me as my mind wanders over how I moved from an innocent lady to an assassin within a few month. Everyone seems happy and fine, including me. I am with my family and friends now; so what more can I ask for?   Everything seems cool and fine right now. My ex is currently with no woman in his life and just maybe I have a chance to win him back. You all saw it when he held my hand, right? Maybe he is also thinking of making up with me. We still haven’t talked about that night cause maybe he also thinks it might be awkward.   Does that mean we are never going to talk about it?   I have no idea.   “Kiki” Mike calls out to me and I raise my head to find the room empty.   Everyone left already except Mike.   “Are you okay?” He asks and I nod.   “Yeah. I am. I was just wondering if Alejandro had a call girl while he was with Lucy.” I say and he sits right in front of me.   “I am not really sure about the type of relationship that was between Alejandro and Lucy but it seemed to be an open relationship. They were both free to have some other partner, so yes Alejandro has a call girl but I haven’t seen her recently.” He tells me and I nod repeatedly.   I can’t afford to share my man with any other woman.   “It is time for dinner we need to leave for the dinning now.” He adds and I stand.   “I would like to know everything I need to know.” I say and he rests his hand on the small of my back as he leads me out.   “I and Bianca, have settled our differences and I plan to marry her.” He tells me as we enter the elevator and I smile.   “I happy she is your first and your last.” I reply and he grins. “Bianca, is the woman of my dreams. She is unique and I can’t afford to let her go. Although I am not ready to be a father anymore, I am ready to make the best of the first two years of our marriage. I will make her feel like she knows the whole world. We would go on vacations. Build an empire together and make donations to charity centers. I will let her work with her medical certificate and thereafter she can work as a doctor again just like her best friend, Marie.” He tells me as the doors glide open.   “Then we would have to end most of the mafia businesses we do.” I reply.   “I am willing to support you with the proposal planning. I am sure Bianca would be happy about it.” I remark as we both walk to the dinning where everybody is waiting for us.   I sit at the same time with Mike, and the maids begins to serve each and everyone of us.   “Thank goodness everyone is present at this table and no one is a stranger. I have been wanting to discuss this matter ever since, but Lucy’s sudden departure had me silenced. I would like my son, Alejandro to get married as soon as possible. I am getting older every single day and I might even die tomorrow, yet I do not have a grandchild. Before I die I would love to meet your heir. So, for me please get married soon. Everyone present at this table is my witness.” Erica says as soon as the maids leave and I clear my throat silently.   I move my wine glass to my lips and gulp down all the wine in my glass, before pushing my chair back.   “Please, excuse me.” I say and walk out.   Heading for the bathroom as I feel a bit of irritation in the pit of my tummy. I ascend the stairs and head for my room. I grab the handle of the door leading to my room and the same for the door leading to the bathroom.   Kneeling, I open the lid of the toilet bowl and vomit my guts into the toilet bowl. Hitting the flusher, I get up and hit the shower button right before I enter. My hair gets wet as well as the piece of clothing I have on and my tears mixes with the water. Raising my head, I cover my mouth to muffle my sobs.   I shouldn’t have left when I did. I have given Erica the pleasure of watching me get uncomfortable as she speaks. Taking off my clothes, I throw them in the laundry basket before stepping out in my bath robe.   Feeling dizzy, I fall on my bed and clap my hands twice to turn of the lights.   “Thank goodness everyone is present at this table and no one is a stranger. I have been wanting to discuss this matter ever since, but Lucy’s sudden departure had be silenced. I would like my son, Alejandro to get married as soon as possible. I am getting older every single day and I might even die tomorrow, yet I do not have a grandchild. Before I die I would love to meet your heir. So, for me please get married soon. Everyone present at this table is my witness.” Erica’s words reiterates in my head for the third time since I have laid on the bed and I can’t the pool of tears forming in my eyes.   I know where all of this going to. I know Erica is instigating her son to get married just to push me further away from him. When she was talking about his marriage, I knew she wasn’t referring to me.   “Arrrgh.” I shout into my pillow and the tears in my eyes falls on my pillow.   His mother is right, maybe? After all the son between I and Alejandro is dead and we have been away from each other for years. If he doesn’t love me any more, why did he have to safe me when Lady Tee betrayed me. Why didn’t I end up in just anyone’s room when I was drunk? Why was it is room of all the rooms in that hotel? And lastly, why did he f**k me. Was the one nightstand some kind way to get back at me for leaving him?   God…
