"Conner, we'll be up on stage in five minutes!" Manager Lu reminded him the moment he entered the door to their waiting room. Conner looked up from looking at his phone. He was browsing posts and forums from social media platforms. "OK." Conner said as he handed his phone to his assistant nearby. He sighed and looked at the mirror for the final time to see how he looked before following the remaining other three members in their boy group. They used to be a popular eight members idol group in South Korea. People gathered, screamed and go crazy over them the moment they saw them. But who could say that in a blink of an eye, scandals after scandals would follow them and targeted them as they continued to rise and make a name for themselves. And now, almost half of them were out of the group. One member got someone pregnant, another member got embroiled in a s*x scandal, the third member in a drug scandal and the fourth member who left was in a brawling scandal that could lead to a serious crime if his opponent didn't wake up from his coma. That was why their group that was once basking in the limelight was now tarnished and on it's free-fall. No one knows if they would ever survive or make a comeback again. This was their final night of the concert that they started as an eight group nearly a year ago from their world tour, but now they would be ending it with only four members. That was why instead of excitement, Conner felt burdened, like he was carrying the whole damned universe on his back. Like a drowning man that couldn't find any way to save himself. Conner and the remaining members might not be part of what their previous members did, but since they were in a boy group, that was why their group couldn't escape the finger pointing, negative remarks and ridicule from the public. Not to mention the haters who was delighted to see their downfall. He felt so damn tired. He used to enjoy singing, dancing and performing in front of their thousands of fans to cheer them up, but now, he himself couldn't cheer himself up. After this, he really needed a damn break from it all. He love their fans, but he needed to love and take care of his own well being more. He needed to search for that spark back in his life that totally winked out after all the negativity and bad publicity. As if he himself did something wrong because of how the public ridicule the remaining members of the or group. Conner also believed that the rest of them really needed a break after this. Besides, with all the negativity surrounding them, he was so damn sure that their company would freeze any of their remaining activities to lie low for some time anyway. Conner was deep in thought about his decision that was why he didn't managed to reply back to the cheering and encouraging words of the staffs and assistants on the backstage, while the other members only nodded politely. Instead of excitement, they all looked solemn. For this might be their final stage in front of their loyal fans for a very long time. "Okay, good luck on stage and have fun. I know you guys will do well!" their manager said, cheering them up like the usual. They really appreciate their manager, since despite all what happened he was always there to cheer them up. They all nodded and then stood on the rising platform after giving each other a group hand signal like a group mantra, now only four pairs of hands gathered to cheer each other, and then they looked forward to meeting their fans. The live band started the intro of their first song of the night. The crowd cheered wildly hearing the band playing with the instruments. Conner took a deep breath calming and clearing his mind from any thoughts other than their performance. This final stage, he would make sure to give the crowd a performance that would embed in their minds even if it was the last one they would ever see from their group. "Inv8ctus! Inv8ctus! Inv8ctus!" the crowd kept cheering and calling their group name. It was ironic really, since there were only four remaining members in their group and inspite the meaning of their group name, instead of glory, they were defeated. What a total face slap on their faces. Forget it. After this, everything would be over. "Hello, Seoul! We're glad to see you all again!" their leader, Lyon (he combined the Lee Yeon of his name), yelled out energetically to their fans. The fans went wild and started chanting again. Despite numerous scandlas, their concert was still sold out. They were really thankful and appreciated their fans. Conner felt so touched and and felt like crying for their fan's loyalty and support. They still remained by their side despite all that happened. It would definitely break their fangirl's heart once they learned about their group's indefinite hiatus... or a total disbandment. Maybe the next time they meet their fans again, it would probably be for solo projects. After all, the meaning of their group name already became a joke. They need a rebrand and a makeover. The other three members of their group might be ready for the change totally, but Conner needed a break. Conner shook his head and then started singing and followed the rest of the groups move when they danced in a synchronized manner. And then they started to sing a somewhat inspiring melodious song that has an energetic beat to it. Conner felt like this was somewhat an appropriate song. They should have sang this during an encore instead of the beginning of the concert. This was titled ''Dreams'. It was their second song following up their debut song during their rookie year. It could be considered their b-side song that they helped write and composed as a group. This song really fitted with how they overcome all challenges and setbacks to finally achieved their dream. It was catchy because it sounded cheerful but at the same time the song was about their struggle and how to cope with it. If their group didn't already chose and filmed their debut song and music video, this song could have been their debut song. 'Whenever you think hope is gone, you can look back on the good times.... wipe your tears, held your head up high, no more fear....' The stage was suddenly engulfed in a multi-coloured lights and fire effects. The fans watched and cheered, and some even sang along the lyrics, as the group moved together with the dancers in a sequence of expert moves. Their bodies waving and twisting in a synchronized motion. 'Forget your self doubts, and self blame, just remember all the good memories, and your dreams... We're all in this together, fighting for our same dreams, No need to doubt, let's all soar high and reach our dreams! And then came the rap part of Waze, another remaining member of their group. There used to be two rappers in their group, and now only Waze was the remaining rapper. Waze: Block all those negative thoughts and self blame, if you want to blame someone, it should be the people, who always said such negativities, to fan the flame! Just soar high, with your head high, You only need to be confident. Forget about those people, who can only do was blabbermouth nonsense. With the lively beat of the music and combination of the group's energetic dance and live vocals, the fans couldn't help being hyped up even more while cheering for their idols. Despite the group now having the remaining half of their group from its original eight members, that didn't hinder them from performing their dance moves that was normally created for eight people. They just need some adjustments to their movements and where they were place on stage. It was really a big adjustment for them at first, but with determination, they managed to overcome it all despite the struggles. It was just sad that after this concert, who knew if they would ever meet on the same stage again. For both fans and their remaining members. With that thought, Conner gave more than a hundred percent of his energy to this final performance on stage. He didn't want to regret anything.
