Three: All Hale

Excision & Sullivan King- Wake Up X "Your main event is here, Little Sister," Frankie, my head of security comes over to me with an ePad in hand. "His manager's name is Sonny Macentyre and he's kind of a d**k. I'm coming with you," "Sure," I nod going through the Wraith's entourage list. The two of us go down into the tunnels where we turned a few of the storage rooms into luxury suite rooms for the fighters. Since Wraith and Volt are the main event, they get their own suites. There are two huge security guards in front of the double doors. The doors are wide open. I can hear them all laughing inside. "Sorry, baby. No, groupies before the fight," one of the big guards holds his hand out stopping me from entering the room. Frankie visibly tenses up next to me as I look up at the big burly guard. "Little Sister," Frankie starts to apologize. I wave him off. "It's fine, Francis. It's Will's birthday if he finds out I'm fighting he's going blow a casket. What's your name, big guy?" I look up from my ePad to meet the guard's big brown eyes. He doesn't answer. "That's okay. My name is Exael. I need to speak to Sonny," "Sonny isn't taking-" I pull my gun from inside my jersey and tuck it under his chin to cut him off. His body tightens up enough to make him tremble a bit. His buddy moves but Frankie doesn't let him get too far. "Go inside and get me Sonny before I blow your f*****g head off," I sneer at him. "Tell him Little Sister wants him in her office," I point in the direction of my office to the right. "Door at the end of the corridor. Got it?" "Yes," he nods. I put my gun away and look back down at the ePad to continue going through the information Frankie provided. I tap the door frame as I walk inside my office so he doesn't follow me in. I stop in front of the monitors and look over to the VIP section of the Rave Tent. My brother is dancing with a couple of girls. One of them is the starfish girl. Lance and Kaylee are with him. Content with what I found I sit down and turn my attention back to Sonny's file. Sonny Macentyre is from Brooklyn. Has a few violent charges for fighting and possession. However, recently he's cleaned up. My guess is that he's taking his job with Wraith seriously. Not the mention that Nicolas Cirillo is the nephew of Sebastian Cirillo. The head of the Cirillo crime syndicate in Harlem. Sebastian doesn't have any kids yet and his brother was killed in a prison riot when Nicolas was six years old. We've never had the pleasure of working with the Cirillos but their reputation proceeds them. Maybe putting a gun to the guy's guard's head wasn't smart but in my defense, that nut sack called me a f*****g groupie. Frankie taps on my door so I lock the ePad and press the button on my desk. I love this thing. The door opens and Sonny walks through. Sonny Macentyre is a handsome guy. He's in his early thirties. Built like a fighter. Buzzcut. Pretty pressed suit. Droopy steel gray eyes. Big diamonds adorn his earlobes. Nice expensive watch. Yeah, he's definitely behaving himself thanks to his fighter. "Mr. Macentyre," I stand up to greet him. His eyes sweep my body. I forgot I was wearing a fitted one-piece shimmer body suit, fishnets, and my ANARCHY 28 jersey. He takes my hand firmly when I offer it to him. "Little Sister. Forgive my i***t guard. He didn't know who you were and-" he looks me over as if to make his point clearer. "He's outside with your apology," "Have a seat, Mr. Macentyre," I go back around my desk. He looks around the room before sitting in the black moon chair across from me. I sit back and cross my legs, resting my elbows on the armrest, and tucking my interlocked fingers under my chin. "You can call me Sonny," he says making himself comfortable. "Sonny, it's fine. I'm used to meatheads. I train them," I shrug. "Welcome to Grimace. I hope your trip wasn't too long," "It's an honor to meet you, Little Sister. Forgive me. I wasn't expecting," he motions me with his hand. "You're very beautiful," "Thank you," "The trip was fine. Just a couple of hours away. It was very last minute but Nick is very excited to be here," "Good. Have you found sleeping accommodations?" "No, we're working that out now," "Why don't you and your guys all stay in my house?" I reach for my purse and take my keys out to place them on the desk. "Hale Manor isn't far from here and I just had it cleaned up. I'm really sorry about the timing. Forgive me but I'm not acquainted with your fighter in the slightest. Did Lance talk to you about tonight's event?" "Uh, he asked me if Nick could take Volt and I guaranteed him a win," he nods. "Perfect. It's my brother's birthday today and this is for him. There's bad blood between Volt and Will. So, I really want that win, Sonny," "I see," he nods with a smile. "I didn't know it was your brother's birthday. I would have brought a gift," "Don't worry about that. You are the gift," I smile back. "Is there anything you need from me to make Mr. Cirillo's stay with us easier?" "Well, the house was it," he takes the keys off my desk. His hands are littered with tiny scars. His knuckles to be exact. Sonny screams gangster. The only thing more attractive than danger is danger with a brain. "All right. Well, if you guys want or need anything. Frankie is more than happy to accommodate you. We have a party going on upstairs. You and your men are more than welcome to join," I reach into one of my drawers and hand him a stack of black wristbands. "Drinks, party favors, and women are on me," "Thank you," he smiles. "Again. I'm really sorry about Jon. I'd like for you to hear his apology," "Sure," I nod. "I'll walk you back to your suite," "I'm sure you have better things to do," he shakes his head. I look back at the screen to find my brother and his friends are no longer in the VIP section. I also see that there aren't any guards at the Wraith suite doors and they're closed. I must have spooked them. That's hilarious. "Not really. I have a really good team tonight," I get up taking one of the wristbands. I press the button on my desk and the door begins to open. I look down to see that Frankie and the guy are lying on the ground. I look up again to see a man pressed up against the wall with a gun in his hands. I put my hand out stopping Sonny from moving. "That's not your guy is it?" "What?" he leans over to see the guard and Frankie. "What the f**k?" I put my index finger to my lips and step over the two bodies. I take my gun out from inside my jersey and press it to the back of the man's head. He tenses up and raises his hands. Sonny wastes no time in taking the gun out of his hand. "Are there others?" I whisper in his ear. He shakes his head. "Who are you?" He tries to swing his elbow back to hit me and I fire. The sound echoes loudly in the concrete tunnels. I wave Sonny forward letting him know I'll back him up. He steps over the body and moves forward, his knees slightly bent. The gun he just took from the guy tucked between both his hands. "Jon," a woman calls out from inside the suite. There's another body up ahead. "Get back inside," Sonny shouts. "Emilio!" "Sir," two guys come out guns in hand. I scroll through the contact list on my watch and dial for Elizabeth. Frankie's replacement. "Little Sister. How can I help you?" "Block all the Northern exits and send in snake eye formations through each one. We have a breach. They're after the Wraith entourage. Frankie is down," "s**t," she gives my orders immediately. "Do you need me to come down there, X?" "No, baby. Stay up there. Watch my six," "Yes, ma'am," she hangs up. I go ahead and open up the doors for Sonny's guys to clear the rooms. Once we're done I turn back to him tossing my hands up in question. "What the f**k was that?" I ask. "Me?" he shakes his head. "Yeah, they weren't here for me," "This is your venue," he argues. My wrist lights up and I press the button on my earpiece to answer it. "What's up, Ellie?" "We've got two guys. They're headed your way, X," she answers immediately. "Thank you, sweetie. Send in a cleaning crew. We've got three bodies down here," "Sure thing, X. Rio is on his way," I press the earpiece again and put my gun away. "They caught two guys. Guess we'll see who they're after," I shrug. I open the empty room I just cleared and switch the lights on. Rio and four of his guys walk over to us. "X, it's been a while," he greets me with a smile. I wave them into the room. The guys hold the two men dressed in all black for us. I go over to them and pull their ski masks off. "There's a dead one out in the hall halfway to my office. Go get him," I order. "Who the f**k are you guys?" "Demarco?" one of Sonny's guys steps forward. I cross my arms over my chest to look at Sonny. He opens his mouth to speak but then shuts it. "What the f**k is going on?" the voice is deep and low but filled with authority. My skin pimples with goosebumps as Sonny turns around to address it. In the doorway, is the most beautiful man I've ever seen in my life. Holy s**t. My heart is racing. For a moment, all time stands still and I take the pause to drink him all in. His beautiful hazel eyes are angry, no maybe concerned. His thick dark eyebrows are scrunched together making his sharp features expressive as f**k. His pink full lips move as he shoots Sonny a command. He's wearing a sleeveless hoodie, it's covering his head. But his huge toned arms are in full display. Pretty colorful tattoos cover his right arm and the left is adorned with black ink. I shake it off when Rio appears behind him. "Excuse me," Rio says politely. The guy looks down at him as Rio hauls the body into the room. "Uh, s**t. X, Frankie, and the other guard are just tranqed," "Fritz?" one of the guys calls out. "f**k," I let my head fall back. "Dude, what the f**k?" "Uh, I have no idea," Sonny shakes his head. "Who the f**k are you guys?" "They're part of Volt's team," one of Sonny's guys says. I turn back to them. "Volt sent you guys to what?" I ask. He looks down at his vest. I go over to him and reach into the front pocket. There are a bunch of little green darts inside. I hand them over to Sonny. "Did you know that if you were to hit him a certain way, you could ruin his entire f*****g career?" "Little sister-" he bows his head. "Take the three of them back to him. Tell him to come clean this s**t up. Let him know that no matter the outcome of tonight's fight. He's not getting f*****g paid," "You still want us to perform?" Sonny asks. "Yeah, I expect you to f*****g fight tonight. I still expect that win. I haven't seen my brother smile in years and if you f**k that up for him, none of you are walking out of here unscathed. Get your s**t in order, Sonny," I push past all of them until I'm in front of the big guy. "Is that going to be a problem?" "No, not at all," he says calmly as his eyes rake my body shamelessly. His voice is doing wild s**t to me. I sidestep him to get through. My bare arm brushes against his soft smooth bicep. A jolt of electricity shoots through my body and I step away from him. His hand immediately goes up to the spot where our skin meets. I keep walking ignoring how my skin came alive from a simple touch. When I reach the end of the curved corridor I inhale. I didn't realize I stopped breathing. Oh, my god. What the hell was that? My watch brings me back to reality. I press the button on my earpiece. "Yeah?" "Where are you? You missed Subtronics," my brother's tone is happy. Excited even. "I'm on my way back. I had to handle some last-minute things," I answer as I walk out of the tunnels and onto the main floor. Elizabeth immediately comes over to me. "Well, hurry up. Zeds Dead is up," he shouts and hangs up. "Wow," she shakes her head. "What an asshole. Get everything cleaned up. Make sure this doesn't get out to Lance and Will. If Volt tries to bolt. Tell him I know his brother is working at Anarchy tonight. Have Carlos send you some pictures. When Frankie wakes up tell him to take the rest of the weekend off. Take over the plans tonight," "Yes, ma'am," she bows her head. "Have fun," "There you are," Will shouts over the music and then points at the girl under his arm. "This is Monica," "Close. I'm Veronica," she laughs looking up at him. "No one cares," he shrugs. Her mouth opens up falls open her lips pucker into an O. "f**k you," she shoves him and walks away. "You just ruined her night," I point out. "I know," he laughs. "Did you see her expression? It was better than the one she made when she came in the porta-potty. You," he points at me with a wide grin. "Thank you. I can't believe you got me Zeds Dead. I needed this," "You're welcome," I smack his arm with the back of my hand. "Night's still young," "Oh," he laughs. "What will she do next?" "That's always the question isn't it?" I nod quoting the title of the essay he made me write for him. "You cheeky b***h," he shakes his head. "This is my little sister!" he shouts. The crowd around us shouts. I'm handed a drink and Lance hands me a blunt. "Come on, Exael. Have some fun with me. Put X away," It's not his easiest request. In fact, it's one he's only made once before. It was a couple of weeks after my eighteenth birthday. I'd made the stupid mistake of staying at the dorms and then moving into a sorority house. I've never been good at making friends and Sorority bitches are mean ass hell and I swore I wouldn't kill any of them. Long story short, I was kicked out of AKA when one of the stupid pledges O.D.ed and almost died on dieting pills of all things. I took the blame. I mean clearly, I didn't want to be there anymore and they didn't want me there so I let them throw me under the bus. Lance had to threaten the Dean so I didn't get kicked out of school. I had been down for a while and Will gave me my first beer. I told him the truth and he was pissed. When I told him it was fine. That I only joined because Mom had been part of it and I wanted to take my part as a legacy but quickly realized that it was just a lingering emotion about Mom. He knows how I feel about her and he let it go. That night turned into a two-week vacation in Bora Bora. During our time away, the bikers killed twelve of our guys and burned down one of our clubs. I don't like letting go. I glance back to look at Lance who is staring back at me worriedly. "f**k," I put the blunt to my lips. Lance holds up the lighter to light it. "One night. That's all you get this time," "That's all I'm asking," he smirks. "I'm already regretting this," I nod and hand him the blunt. I take the last acid gel strip from the pocket in my sparkly fanny pack. I place it on my tongue and take a drink from the fruity pink drink in my hand. "All Hail the Hales," "All Hail the Hales," they repeat. This is going to be a disaster. I can feel it. Weird s**t is about to happen and it's probably going to be my fault.
