PROLOGUE
Meeting you was the very definition of fate. Fate made me encounter you in a certain place and at a certain time. At first, I thought it was pure coincidence. The second time we met, I thought of it as luck, and the third time I met you was when I was certain it was fate.
It was your smile, your thoughts, your habits, your dreams and goals, and it was your very presence that made me fall deeper and deeper.
Love was something I had given up on. But, it was you who made me believe in it again.

The sound of waves crashing against the ship’s side was loud and was enough to make a person think of ominous thoughts. It was a stormy night, and we still had eighteen hours of sailing to arrive at our next port of destination.
I was on a break after just finishing my bridge watch duty. I found it hard to sleep despite having become accustomed to life at sea because of being on board for years, but tonight was different.
The thoughts in my head are filled with worries; for myself, my family, my future, and him.

I stood up from my chair and went to bed. I think it is better to just sleep tonight. No matter how much I think of him and our relationship, it will not change the fact that the two of us can't be together.

A beeping sound filled the room and the smell of medicine was in the air. Despite the lavish decorations and the expensive furniture displayed, it was not hard to pinpoint that it was in a hospital.
The only occupant in the room was the one lying motionless on the bed. His face was gaunt, and his lips were chapped and pale. It wasn’t certain how long he had been lying on the bed in a vegetative state.
Suddenly, the door swung open, and in came a beautiful woman. The woman sauntered towards the bed and bent down to whisper something to the patient. She then straightened up and stared at the body as if waiting for something to happen, but after minutes of waiting, she sighed and gave up.
The woman went out, and it was at that moment that something unexpected happened.
